The Big Numbers – Gameweek 23

Joe Cole tops our ICT Index for the Gameweek so far, following his equalising goal and eye-catching display in the Hammers’ draw with QPR. With David Silva ranked second and West Brom’s Peter Odemwingie nestled in third, the weekend has seen a number of differentials put in strong statistical shifts.

Our members can, of course, get the full data behind the Index scores via our members area but, as always on a Sunday evening, we’ve compiled our guide to the figures that have turned our heads thus far in Gameweek 23…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Hey guys here's my WC team.

    Bego, Bunn
    Nasty, Gibbs, Demel, Davies, Harte
    Fellaini, Bale, Mata, Walcott, Punch
    RVP, Fletcher, XXX

    9.0m for a forward.

Really can't decide. Who would you pick?

Hmmm, the proof will be in the pudding but I think Cahill, Ivan, JT are going to compete for the two spots at CB (along with Luiz perhaps) and Azpi will be untouched. Ivan prefers CB and always seemed a bit clunky playing there.

How often do points hits work out for everyone? Are -4's a 50:50 chance on average or is it harder to gain out of them, I know this depends on a number of factors but generally speaking for someone with a knowledge of FPL, on average how successful are they?

depends on too many factors to give a percentage success rate. every case is different. if you try to break it down you won't take into account the neccessity of a hit or if it's a silly knee jerk vanity move

Just looking at me this year, killing time before the Pats. Basically, I've taken 7 hits this year, 3 I would say were "good," 2 were neutral, one was bad, one was catastrophic.

Before Week two: I sold Mata and Aguero for Bale and Lambert. It worked pretty well. It took Mata a little while to get going and Lambert got a goal/assist against United.

Before Week three: Sold van der vaart and torres for Ben Arfa and Van Persie. Ka ching. Picked up 4 goals for two players who didn't play this year.

Before week 4: Sold Lescott and Puncheon for Clark and Santi Cazorla. Sort of meh. Puncheon cancelled out Cazorla. Clark outscored Lescott by 5, but I benched him. And the next week Clark got -2 and came off my bench while Lescott got 11.

Before week 13: Sold Tevez and Hoilett for Rooney and Maloney. Meh. Hoilett did nothing, Tevez did nothing, Rooney got an assist. Net even.

Before week 15: Sold Baines, Rooney, and Maloney for Billy Jones, Suarez and Silva. Ouch. Baines got an assist. Rooney scored 5 goals over the next 3 weeks while Suarez scored 2 points over the same span.

Before week 17: Sold Lambert and Sess for Kaca and Aguero. Fail.

Before week 18: Sold Fellaini and Gunter for Punch and Luiz. Luiz's goal made it a success.

Yeah, interesting choices! Looking at your's in particular you really have to look at the long term success, it might work out badly the following week but 3-4 weeks in the pipeline and you could be dozens of points better off. So, Should I take out Snod and Aguero for Bale and Sturridge for -4? I'm in two minds..hah

So early look at next GW..

I got 2 FTs and will be WC'ing after, so looking for some good 1 week punts.
Thinking perhaps Suarez - > Rooney and downgrading Gibbs.
My MF is set in stone so gotta be def or attackers. Any suggestions?

Dawson at 4.5m looks a bargain. Seems to be back in favour at Spurs, decent move?

REPOST. Sorry lost on the previous page. Appreciate some comments

Essentially the question is Baines in or Baines out?

    Baines in - Fellaini

Baines out - Walcott and a super duper defence

    Bunn DDG

    Azpil Zab Dawson Clyne Davies

    Bale Mata Michu Theo Guthrie

    Sturridge Kun RVP

Baines is almost certainly going in my WC team with back-to-back home games coming up. So Baines & Fellaini for me

What you think of my wildcard
    team

    Bego
    Rafael Baines Gibbs
    Mata Walcott Michu Fellaini
    RVP Suarez Pog

    Jussi Puncheon Davies Harte

    Rotating both Puncheon and Pogrebnyak

I would go with Zabaleta instead of Rafael. Looks good. Mine will look much the same, but with Bale instead of Punch, Sturridge instead of Suarez, and Zabaleta instead of Baines.

get nastasic or azpilicueta instead of baines, i wouldnt be comfortable having Pogrebnyak in my team, pants player in a key position, aguero looked very dangerous in his cameo apperance, if you had a frontline of rvp, aguero, sturridge then that would be very good, thats going to be my frontline when i play my wildcard

God almighty. What a bleak, grey landscape the mini leagues are this week.

Everyone has the same teams with very similar scores.

Even people who had crap teams can WC, stick in pog or punch etc, release value, and off you go....

The winter wildcard has destroyed individual imagination and skill
