Our congratulations go to Wild Rover after he clinched victory in the Fantasy Football Scout Paddy Power Cup Final last night, following an 87-75 win over Mile High. The double Gameweek 23 proved a fitting backdrop to their head-to-head, with that winning margin ultimately coming down to each player’s choice of Arsenal and West Ham coverage in the final match of the Gameweek at the Emirates on Wednesday evening:

While both finalists handed Theo Walcott the armband and also had Kieran Gibbs and Guy Demel in their ranks, Wild Rover’s midfield proved decisive. Joe Cole and Santi Cazorla both returned double figure hauls, while Mile High received just four points from the Hammers’ Mark Noble, with Jussi Jaaskelainen and Bacary Sagna chipping in with three points apiece at the back. Wild Rover’s five double Gameweek players produced 63 points, then, compared to Mile High’s 51 from six – a 12 point gap which proved the difference between their Gameweek scores, despite our new champion taking a four point hit for the occasion.

Wild Rover now joins donnellyc, Jonty, Goonerdave, Ninja_Fit_Saints, sleepingmaster and previous champion Mch in our hall of fame and will now gain automatic qualification to the Fantasy Football Scout Paddy Power Cup from this point on.

Along with the virtual silverware, Wild Rover also receives £100 worth of free bets with Paddy Power and £100 in Amazon vouchers, while Mile High gets his hands on £50 worth of free bets and £50 in Amazon vouchers. Mr KK receives £50 worth of free bets and £25 Amazon vouchers – he saw off ange1range1 94-75 to take third spot.

All our Quarter-Finalists from this year’s Fantasy Football Scout Cup also go into the first FFS Shield tournament, running over the final four Gameweeks of the season where they will face off against the eight Quarter-Finalists from the Members Cup, due to start very soon.

    Lost in last post so.....Objectively, Gerrard or Mata?
    The way I see it, both are in form, both have been consistent but Gerrard surely beats Mata since he plays 90 every single game, has Sturidge and Suarez in front him while Mata will have Torres occasionally and Gerrard is on pens. Thoughts??

      the thing that swings it Mata's way IMO is that if you want Liverpool attack you can get Sturridge for 7.4 who will give great returns. The cheapest Chelsea attack is Ba or Lampard. Now if Lampard gets nailed on, he'd be worth a shout, but for me Mata and Sturridge is better

      not being awkward but why not both. One has the best form the other is the highest scoring mid. For me they both rate above Bale, Dempsey, Michu, Fellaini and Walcott at the moment so why choose?

        Not Bale imo. Bale is a monster and you see it in game and with his in game stats. He will correct the standings after Norwich just watch and see.

      Read my last post, it basically says mata is the best for chelsea attacking coverage whilst you can get suarez or sturridge for liverpool. Also take not gerrard plays much deeper than mata does and doesnt receive the ball as far up as mata does

      I rather Gerrard. I hate to be looking out for team sheets to say 'Mata? yes check' I don't have this Problem with players like Gerrard and Bale etc. Liverpool thrash teams the same way Chelsea does so Gerrard wins all day for me. Plus that low ownership is ridiculous. Besides having Sturridge and Gerrard is not a problem for me either, I don't believe in 'coverage', if players get pts every week they are work a buy no matter what team they are from.

    If so which of those three would you get i can afford all, but it may be slightly beneficial to choose between nasty and clichy as the extra 0.4m may come in handy elsewhere

    Tough One Mata on form and a few set pieces

    but so is Gerard showing a bit of form and set pieces.. I think Gerrard will step it up against the Next 2 fixtures..

    0 FT, 2.7m in bank

    Is it worth a hit to do either of these?

    A. Puncheon to Fellaini to avoid the price rise (Got Puncheon at 4.9 so it’s as tight as you’d get)
    B. get rid of Ba if he goes down twice (Bought him at 8.6 so 8.9 and 8.8 will still yield me +0.1)

    I want to become a member to join cups and leagues and also to read some of the articles etc, but I am seriously worried about drifting away and spending way too much time analysing stats etc. Is there any way you can be guaranteed not to have you your non-FFS/FPL-life (yes, there is one - mostly work though) completely ruined (e.g. by permanently blocking some of the features or something) ....?
