The ScoutCast – Episode One Hundred And Three – Armband

The double Gameweek dominates episode 103 of the ScoutCast, providing a timely antidote a pitiful weekend of points scoring that saw even the great and good struggle. While your hosts hardly fit into that category, Granville and I dust ourselves down to rinse through the double Gameweek options, popping in on the Professor to get the “Rate My Team” viewpoint, before Jonty crashes the party to serve up another community themed conclusion.

This time around, Jonty brings a tale of armband woe: a Fantasy manager who misses the captain target with frustrating regularity. Whilst that manager’s luck should offer cheer, Jonty is also armed with a plethora of captain statistics that come courtesy of a former “Full Jonty” victim. Those particular revelations have me staring into the eyes of a certain Dutchman and wondering where it all went wrong.

Morning all. Swap options for Felaini:

2 Coutinho

I know Townsend is probably the popular option but with a midfield of Walcott, Santi and Mata I already have a decent mid and keeping Coutinho opens up the decision of playing him or Mata. Which option should I go for?

  Go coutinho. He plays every match + liverpool are quite good at anfield unlike QPR at home + after the arrival of coutinho its only about suarez and him in creating chances and scoring goals. And mata is not a regular considering chelsea's tight schedule keep coutinho a really good replacement for MATA unlike townsend.

People considering playing their WC in GW36.

Am I correct in saying the FA cup final is being played in GW37?

If so wouldn’t this mean that the 2nd of the two games in GW36 would be a bit of a minefield for those loading up with the finalists i.e. Chelsea/City and possibly Wigan?

Surely their managers would rest them before the cup final?

  Wigan will likely be fighting relegation so I can't see them doing anything but playing a full team. That still leaves spurs and swansea who won't rotate and we will know the result of the semi finals by the time we play the WC so we know which of City of Che to be wary off.

      He'll be the same with Lescott/Toure getting game time. Man City have too many options to be sure that their defenders will play 100% up until the end of the season, but Clichy/Nasty/Kompany/Zabs will still get the lion's share - we'll just need to rely on our subs on the odd occasion.

    I would avoid Poldo, he is just not guaranteed game time. Mirallas may be a great punt. On these things I tend to go with my gut reaction so Giroud seems a pretty fair choice

      Yeah so I'd choose zabaletta personally. He has good fixtures with a DGW. Rafael/ Evans (although I have both :O) have a DGW and then not the best fixtures, and aren't nailed on.

        I think Clichy may be more (or just as) secure than Zaba from now until the end of the season though. With Richards/Maicon coming back, and Kolarov having a mare the last game he played I think Clichy would be unlucky not to start all the rest of the games

I am confused abt rooney playing 2 matches and will berba be able to perform as lambert is in supreme form. suggestions please.

  Either/both would be ok for free but more risky if doing them for a hit. But if you want Berba/Rooney longer term then go for it. Personally I would prefer Lambert and Suarez after this GW so would leave it, if I was in your position.

    i m not planning to keep berba and rooney for a long term. i m planning to get them only for the DGW. as suarez is not in great form , so i thought about rooney + i think i shud get maximum from this DGW as in my mini league its very close and i have the edge over the others as i already have more players playing DGW and i m thinking about making it much stronger. + i think rooney and berba can alteast cover up the hits NO?
