HomeCrowd has been with us for just over a month now and, as we approach a busy pre-season period, we thought it was a good time to get your views on how you’ve found it so far.

We’ve created a short ten question, multiple choice survey that will help us gauge your feelings on the new comments system and understand how it’s being used so we can work to improve things in the coming months.

With the Fantasy games still yet to hit full swing, it would be great if you could spare us five minutes and pop on over to this link to complete the survey. Many thanks.

      What you say is categorically true and i fully support the view you have expressed in the above post. However they do prompt some good discussion and the quality of the posts has increased. I do however think that some of the character and fun had gone. I initially intended to make this post ironically long but i can't be arsed. Have an upvote 🙂

      Fully agree, in general terms, the shorter the article can be mae to deliver necassary info the better. Some have been novels, longwinded, revealed nothing new to me, yet often got voted of the board!

          If people didn't care about votes then the system is redundant. I think it's a basic human drive to try to acquire praise from our peers and the up vote is an easy way to tap into that.

    Sorry in advance if this sounds harsh but:

    The questionaire is not fit for purpose. As it doesn't leave the respondents feeling they have been able to communicated their thoughts and needs.

    No open questions and poor closed choices for the few questions given make this 'survey' a total waste of time to fill in.

    What was the aim/goal of the survey anyway?

    More time needs to be spent on this and/or consult with the many on this site that have experience in social science and therefore know how to prepare surveys fit for purpose.

      Total waste of time?? It took all of a minute to complete and it is just a way for Mark and the other scouts to see how we've found the new system, which I think has worked very well. Keep up the good work scouts!

      Mmm..we certainly could have taken longer compiling it but I just wanted to make it quick and easy to complete so we got good numbers hitting it - I presumed that the article would collect a lot of feedback too so didn't think it necessary to have open questions in it. We're already seeing the thread used with some valuable opinions added - albeit they're not anonymous.

      We've had lots of feedback by email too and folk can continue with is by emailing jonty@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

        At least it may highlight the need for a proper survey, but leaving users frustrated because they can't accurately communicate their views seems rather counterproductive.

          Seriously mate you need to relax a bit. Yes its probably not compliant with MRS guidelines on questionnaires but I don't really think a quick survey monkey to help gauge some broad opinions constitutes your holier than though (Im doing a BTEC in Social Sciences comment). Its a pulse survey nothing more. Waste 5 mins of your life and fill it in to help Mark et al get a feel for the general direction of travel here.

            I certainly hope you're wrong! But if you are, I agree that 6.5 would be too steep for him. Will be good once the prices come out though, I feel too many conversations on here end with 'wait and see on his price'. A whole wave of hot topics will emerge next week I predict.

      I just can't see why people are getting so annoyed at how short the questionnaire was. It was only to see how users have found the new comment system, and what aspects they use etc. If it was too long, no one would have completed it.

      It's given us something to debate about anyway 😉

        I think its more about how the survey was made and not been given the options that suit you best that people are annoyed with, not the lenght though. I'm not saying im against you or anything, i'm neutral on this front 😉 I think the survey should have been "expanded" more but then again i don't think there needs to be that big of a deal about it!

    Mark, may I suggest a more complicated (possibly more expensive) system that allows people a limited number of votes per day; that way people can save their voting privilege for important things such as: downvoting "MOYES OUT" posts.

            Good question. I've not the faintest idea.

            It's an addiction to FPL for me rather than Fantasy Football (you know what I mean). Whether that can be expanded by the same producers would be an interesting proposition.

        I dunno, just think it will be exciting. Two relatively easy home fixtures could well bring in the points. I might W/C after GW1, so building a team specifically for that 1st GW might be even more exciting, IMO.

    I'm interest to know what everyone's 15 would look like with no budget restrictions. I know the few players that will be in absolutely every team, but keen to see where people's heads are at when it comes to keepers, Chelsea Midfielder. Second and Third striker, and defence outside of Baines!

    Unfortuntately we'll only be able to land 7-8 of these, but will be interesting to tally up the % of teams featured in...

    Krul (Westwood) - I think I would still be keen to get N'castle/S'land combo if budget-free
    Baines Luiz Vertonghen (P.Jones J.Enrique)
    Bale Coutinho Mata Walcott Silva
    RVP Aguero (Kone) - Expect the big Ivorian to be displaced in my thinking before the window is out
