KPI Analysis – Robin Van Persie

A fortnight ago, we rolled out a Preview Movie of the latest addition to our Members Area – the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) tables. Essentially, these track the frequency of certain key statistics that can help Fantasy managers identify a player’s form – whether it be a turn for the good or worse – over a Gameweek range or season. With this in mind, our first KPI focused members article looks at Robin Van Persie’s first season at United compared to his final year leading the line for Arsenal.

By tracking Van Persie’s frequency of key stats, Fantasy managers can begin to quantify and identify the exact areas of the Dutchman’s game that have altered since his move to Old Trafford last summer as they prepare potential investment for the season ahead.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

If Bale goes, probably yes. Don't back Crystal Palace defensively at all under Holloway so think Spurs could score goals there on the first weekend.

I didn't watch the game myself although what I've read was that Michu was the better player in that game, and that one of Bony's goals was tapping in Michu's work. I also recall last year Michu saying he preferred to play in the hole rather than as a striker, so I'd personally go with Michu (who's proven) over Bony, at least to begin with.

Well so far in the Chelsea game worth noting:

Luiz and Mata have not started.

Lukaku is wandering around, when he gets the ball he runs it down the right flank to cross it.

    Moses is playing great.

contemplating one of two completely different squads, both bale-less

    team1:

boruc / davis (or gazzinga depending on who's looking to be #2)

merts / zabaleta / terry (parr, chester)

nolan / hazard / walcott / snodgrass (thomas)

    lukaku / aspas / rvp

    team2:

    cech / (4.0 gk)

cole / coleman / zabaleta (turner, chester)

mirallas / countinho / hazard / zaha (hernandez)

    giroud / dzeko / benteke

    thoughts?

well, both oscar and hazard have scored but it would be a mistake to judge them base on one preseason game. Hazard is the safest bet due to his attacking prospects. Oscar is good, but there's better value at his price elsewhere I believe.

A lot of question marks here. Anelka and JRod - will they be regular starters ? Do Marshall/MacGregor rotate well ? Tonev has a tough early schedule and is probably not nailed on. I like the defense. At the end of the day, if Mertasacker remains healthy he will be one of the top scoring defenders - so you have to take the long view with him.

I think chelsea play 4-3-3 in second half, looks very attacking. Lukaku nearly score but hit the post
oscar and moses played very well in first half, but both of them sub off at half time

Lukaku has worked hard and found space and just hit the woodwork but the mids have all been selfish. Oscar has scored a good goal. The defense looks really, really impressive, the Mourinho hallmark. Chelsea have played an effective counter attack style. I wonder if this isn't Mourinho's first choice back 4. Maybe Luiz alongside Lampard to start season.

Players on my watchlist and are being overlooked due to fixtures or not being nailed on yet:
    Mata
    Bony
    Michu
    Hernandez (swansea)
    Kagawa
    Podolski
    Santi Cazorla

These plays are the main suspects on my watchlist.
    Anyone else I'm missing?

Not sure if this has been discussed on here or not but it looks like Liverpool attempting to bolster their attack by signing Diego Costa. Anyone know much about him or how likely this is to go through? Also does this seem to indicate that Suarez will indeed leave this summer?

Watched Diego last season... IMO I think he will play as the long striker with Suarez maybe dropping in behind him... Diego is a good finisher with both feet, extremely clinical... Usually dangerous on set-pieces at being at the right place, at the right time.. one to watch if he comes to l'pool...
