Monitor – Philippe Coutinho

Heading into the home game against Stoke, Philippe Coutinho was one of the most popular picks around. Second only to Eden Hazard in terms of midfield ownership in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), the Liverpool winger was heavily backed to run riot against the Potters after a thrilling first few months on Merseyside last time round.

Unfortunately for his Fantasy owners, Coutinho returned a blank while Iago Aspas and Daniel Sturridge picked up the points after combining for the Reds’ match-winner. As we edge ever-closer to the weekend’s fixtures, we take a look back at the Brazilian’s display against Mark Hughes’ side and assess the underlying data in our first Monitor article of the new season.

  Zab looks a better choice, with Richards on a hamstring injury. Lescott will be making way for Nasty shortly.
  
  I have Silva, but his wide position doesn't seem to favor him that much. I think Mirallas has an advantage position-wise.

  But with Josie's choices at midfield really who knows.

I didn't see the West Ham game, but is a Hazard -> Nolan transfer worth it?

They have decent enough fixtures, and I'd have 3.0 in the bank afterwards for massive flexibility.

Others I was thinking of transferring in: Michu, Walcott, HBA.

Which 3 defenders would you play for next week out of:

Toure, Ivan, Mert, Garrido, Baker

They are all away but trying to choose the lesser of the evils. Think Ivanovic could be on attacking form at man U so temped to play him instead of Toure away to Aston Villa.
