Hmm comparison tool says keep Silva but upon closer inspection there isn't a lot in it. I think this one has to be a gut call and I'd side with Keeping Hazard. I just feel we are yet to see the best from Hazard.

I would lose Hazard, He's less nailed on than Silva IMO, he will almost certainly be rested before champions league games, simply due to the embarrassment of riches. One of his assets from last season (taking some penalties) looks like it will be even less prominent with Lampard starting most Prem games. Also Mourinho vs Pellegrini style, one defends one attacks, Silva is a season keeper for me.
Open ControlsHmmm that's a good argument. I have Walcott, haz and silva, which is too much in mid so one has to go. Walcott is captaincy material.. I'm not sure either of silva or haz are. One will go, but I think my decision may go right up until sat am.

Everyone saying RVP is overpriced I have to agree but seeing as he's the best striker in the league then he is worth captaining most weeks. The way I see it is to own RVP you have to downgrade one other player to a 4.5 player instead of a 7 mil player. Big deal. I can't see anyone in the 7-8 price range worth having as opposed to RVP so Ill take the sure thing in RVP. If for some unexplained reason he became rubbish overnight I'd just -4 for an inform striker and a better midfielder but until that unlikely event happens Ill keep him and captain him and wait for that big points weekend he'll get soon, probably against Palace.

It's a much bigger gap than 2.5m, at least 3 to Aguero and 4-5m to Benteke, Soldado, Sturridge and Giroud.

Open ControlsI can't see having Aguero (rotation) Benteke (plays for ordinary team) Soldado (jury still out) or Giroud (I'm still not convinced) as being better picks plus your nine mil midfielder than RVP over the course of a season. When he starts blasting them in you will have no choice but to bring him in or be left behind by those captaining him.
Open ControlsBenteke is 3rd top scorer in 2013 behind Messi and Ronaldo, iirc. He doesn't care about the team behind him, not that they are much of a liability now. Aguero I totally agree, just saying even he, the closest player price-wise to RVP was beyond your 2.5m reduction. As long as there are options basically matching him for 5m less it is simply wasteful to spend the extra cash on him. Plenty of options around the 9m that if one of them drops off the form they are easily replaced.

When comparing RVP vs any midfielder, RVP will almost certainly get more points over the course of a season.
However, it's not just one player I was able to upgrade from not having RVP. Therefore it becomes RVP vs 3 or 4 better players. I believe the combined totals of these better players compared to THEIR alternatives will outscore RVP.Open Controls
Math seems a bit askew here.
The most popular alternatives to RVP are Soldado, Benteke, Sturridge and Giroud.
If we take the most expensive one to help your argument, Soldado is between 9.5 and 9.8 depending on when you buy him (correct me if I'm wrong).
Lets take the most expensive popular Mid (Ozil @ 10m) to deduct the difference (4.2) from and you have 5.8 to replace Ozils points with those you gained from RVP and the 5.8 mid.
Now bear in mind even those without RVP will have one or two budget kids already, you are looking at the third best player at 5.8 or less in midfield.
