Of the two, Eriksen. I think Arsenal will score a few against Norwich,. I think...I also think spurs will score a few against villa, but is less likely, and i wouldn't be surprised if Villa won the game. This is like being a pundit, I'm not really saying anything.

I disagree. In fact I think the rules should be constricted. I don't like the residency rule. I'm not even sure about the nationality of your parents playing a part, but think that's much more reasonable in comparison.

As an Englishman I want to cheer on a team of English people. In the event of us ever winning something I don't want to feel as though the victory for my country is diluted by us having played 3 Belgians, 2 Italians and a Serb. It is entirely selfish on my part, but that's how I feel about it.

Can one adopt and fully understand the English customs and culture within a short time period of 5 years? I think not. 10 years would be acceptable in my opinion. Rather England won with a real homegrown squad as opposed to 'mercenaries', if other nations do it, so be it, let that be their decision.

I agree up to a point but actually, I'm not sure I like the comparison. With the armed forces, NHS, etc. it's fundamentally essential to get the best people for the job - gender, race, nationality, etc. should be cast aside. With a national sports team the importance of success pales into insignificance so being a bit more 'closed shop' with regard to naturalised citizens is more forgivable.

For what it's worth I don't really give two hoots about who's playing for England, just thought I'd throw in a counterpoint for balance 🙂

I don't think there's anything wrong with his scenario, having not represented anybody at senior level. I could understand not wanting mercenary players who play for one country then switch, but there are many reasons why people would move to live in another country and, once there and a full citizen of that country, they should have the same opportunities as any other member.

Like I say, if someone moves to England or another country at a young age and qualifies to play through living here long enough, then there's no issue.

It's just if teams start abusing it then it will be a shame. For example, if England had allowed Arteta to play for them. Can you imagine National teams being full of players from their national league just because they've played for their club for five years and refusing the chance to play for their actual countries?

Anyway max respect to the forces and everyone else. But english football team you gotta be english. Simple enough. Born here or maybe came here as a kid. Speak the language. He had 7 shots on goal too. Bigger goal threat than Rooney and RVP together at that match. RVP is injury doubt, Rooney will play in midfield more often with Fell recent injury. Young, Nani, Valencia crap atm, Giggs too old, the boy is class, what is there not to like !!!

I'd say no. Depends who you'd get in. I think spurs will score goals against Villa, they generally score more away because the opposing team doesn't sit back. But, villa will probably play on the counter attack like west ham did and soak the pressure in order to do this. I have him and Siggurdson and I'm keeping them for next gameweek, then shipping one for walcott. Eriksen is very silky, languid, on free kicks (delivered a great ball into the bo vs west ham that someone should have buried), and nailed on, I really hope avb responds to the loss and attacks and really drills that intent into his team, because Eriksen's anticipation and awareness of those around him, his peripheral vision is great, and his assist/goals stats at Ajax were great, so really expect more from him.

I got Holtby once and no assists came, could be like that.
