The Big Numbers – Gameweek 12

As always, we cast our eye over the statistics across the previous round of matches to highlight some of the stand-out performers. Chelsea’s change of formation bodes well for their midfield veteran, United’s former Toffee provides chances aplenty, Villa’s misfiring frontman still has reason for optimism, while Liverpool’s young full-back delivers a tenacious display in the Merseyside derby:

Evans should play most games until jan I reckon. Will prob miss one or two during that period to rotation, but least he'll either play 0 or 90 mins. Just have an ok autosub ready.

Need to ship Reid this week.

    A. Skrtel
    B. Azpilicueta
    C. Koscielny
    D. Evans

Obviously C is the only nailed on option but fixtures get tough after a couple weeks

No he's not. Cissokho is strong competition for the kid and BR alluded to a lot of things including he got picked because it was a derby and that he wants to loan him out. He might start regularly but for now he's certainly not "nailed on"

No, The article I read had BR saying that he had tried Cissokho on the left but didn't really think it worked out too well. He said the lad had played really well at the Emirates and hadn't put a foot wrong but he brought him off as Liverpool had to start chasing the game.

Yeah I read that. Sakho has played left back plenty but I agree with BR he's much more of a CB. Don't get me wrong Flanagan has been brilliant and deserves game time but in FPL terms he's a big risk. One poor game and Cissokho might get a run. Even if he doesn't play poor there's a good chance of rotation between the two

“With Jose out, I've got Aly who came in as cover but I've also got other options like young Jon Flanagan,” Rodgers told the ECHO.

“Jon has been outstanding in training and he seems to be getting better and better.

“He did very well against Arsenal. He didn't do anything wrong in that game.

“When he came off, it was simply because we wanted to be more offensive as we were chasing the game.

“Jon is a young player who will never let you down. Of course it's disappointing if you lose your No 1 left-back for a few months but it's an opportunity for someone else to come in and do well.”

I can't believe no one on here considered getting N'Zonzi this week for his 14 point haul. Being the main game-changer from the Stoke midfield, he was bound to come good.

That's the best way to play this game. Use your transfers wisely to buy the highest point scorers every week and not simply the highest priced midfielder like Mesut Özil.

ask yourself, if it wasn't a United player, would you spend 11 million or so on a player you won't captain?

I bought Rooney at £10.5m, I spend more on Özil and don't intend to captain him, consistency is key and that's what Rooney provides.

    Rodgers on Flanagan...

"He needs to play football. But if he plays like he played today, he is going to get football."

"It's been remarkable, really, that we haven't had any clubs come in to take him on loan. We will always facilitate the wages, but we have had just one club come in for him, and that was a League One club. He's a young player that needs to play. There have been a couple of enquiries about him, but nothing concrete. I just felt that I needed to have him about, and in the end I needed him to play in the Arsenal game.

"He's done brilliantly, and that gives me something to think about."

On the England U21 international's performance against Everton at Goodison Park, Rodgers added: "Jon Flanagan was immense.

"A young kid from the city, given the chance to play in a derby game that will be on Sky Gold in about 30 years' time, and given the chance because of his desire to put himself out there every day."

Hmmm, not very conclusive. Putting him in the shop window for a loan move?

Hmm, I really do want to sell Townsend, I think I might. It's just, I don't feel right playing Ravel Morrison GW13 and GW14. If I had Townsend, I'd be able to have the choice of rotating. But since Barkley has United away in GW14, it looks like I'll have to play Ravel Morrison on that Gameweek too. Thanks though mate! 🙂

Many United fans have used the term before, out of jealousy #truelegend

Would be a consideration if Walcott wasn't coming back. Not sure where there is space for him.

Defence is a mare for this week..

      Harper, Lewis
Chester ? Shaw? Coleman Clyne Chico

I have 1FT and 2.6 ITB to fix it.

Dont mind taking a hit, been taking a fair few this season and still doing crap in OR anyway. Looking at Lewis --->Cech or Migs but cant decide who to get. Even tempted by Chester--->Gabbidon for -4 FFS
