Paddy Power Special – 3/1 on Man City to Beat Arsenal at the Etihad

Once again, Paddy Power have laid on another enhanced market for the weekend’s matches – this time around, our bookmaker friends are dangling odds of 3/1 for Man City to beat Arsenal at the Etihad in tomorrow’s lunchtime kick-off for those yet to register an account with them.

Bearing in mind that the regular odds of Manuel Pellegrini’s men winning for their eighth match in a row in front of their own fans is 4/5, this looks a standout deal for those yet to sign up with Paddy. If you don’t have an account and fancy a piece of the action, click here to join up and take advantage of the offer.

If you’ve already got an account with Paddy, you can still benefit from the Money Back Special on the Etihad match. Paddy are offering refunds on all losing First Goalscorer, Last Goalscorer, Correct Score and Scorecast bets should Olivier Giroud score anytime during the game.

To clarify, the City enhanced odds specials are limited to a £10 stake, are open to new Paddy Power customers only and subject to the terms and conditions specified.

Finally, of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

To the captain question, Arsenal's defence versus City will be:

    Sagna-Mertesacker-Koscielny-Monreal

Do not see Aguero having a field day

Much better lineup than versus Everton

Gibbs has been poor last two games and Monreal is a better defender

Sagna will drastically tighten up the right side

Don't look too into the Napoli game as well, as both were missing and we were playing for the draw

      A 5'8" Aguero vs a 6'6" Mertesacker.

Providing Aguero doesn't get the opportunity to 1on1, he won't make a dent.

      Negredo will outscore Aguero.

I am guessing from your price that you bought Amalf atthe same time I did, just after he had had two amazing GWs and was looking like a stone cold bargain..?

Are we all getting a little too adventurous with expecting as many goals from the likes of Rooney, Suarez, Aguero?

In FPL terms, we are hoping for 1 or 2 goals every game they play. In reality, 2 goals in every 3 (26 for the season) is an amazing achievement for a premium striker.

From Suarez most certainly. He was chomping at the bit when he was allowed to play in Gameweek 6, so it's unlikely he'll sustain that all season. Also our fixtures since his return have been favourable.

3 of my midfielders have AMAZING fixtures (FUL/CPL/SUN) - they must be played
2 of my midfielders have a MEH fixture (mci) - Ozil/Ramsey...

Ozil averages 3ppg away from home
Ramsey averages 8ppg away from home

    The decision is easy.

Does value really matter in a benching decision? Or does it cost us?

We could. It would be flairy especially given Hazard is like an ownable version of Barfa.

There's no way of ever escaping from claims of rotation risk. If someone is benched they are a rotation risk, if they play all games they are a rotation risk.

For me its him or Suarez.

I don't see Aguero going bananas this week, though of course he might.

Highest scoring player this week will probably be Chamakh or Figueroa or some dumb luck like that knowing how it goes when everyone gets excited about 3-4 solid picks like this GW (Lukaku, Rooney, Aquero etc)

I wouldn't go near Hazard as a captain pick this week and I am under no obligation to explain why either.

Was mulling over getting Oviedo and then thought, why the heck not get Barkley. Clearly Martinez rates him as his best CAM (having generally played him in the hardest fixtures) and he is playing extremely well. Obviously great fixtures to come. And I'd be selling my donkey Amalfitano for him.

He's had some resting, it won't necessarily continue and at 5.1 he's great value.

    Thoughts?

Yeah I like the idea. I sold him last week and decided pride was too great to bring him straight back with the 0.3 loss involved. He had also done nowt for weeks and was getting frustrating. But the boy is good that;s for sure.

Yeah, solid move. Ahead of the crowd perhaps, and if not is he likely to frustrate you. I imagine not. Nice one Isacki 🙂

Goodness is he only 5.1? I definitely rate him over Oviedo he seems nailed on again and I think still has the role in the hole

Yeah he's still in the hole. I'm watching some recent highlights of him right now and checking the stats to make sure I know what I'm buying.

Cheers both. I can understand the annoyance of having owned him in the past. When a player lets me down I usually curse and rant and then bring them in a month later like the sucker I am. Probably because the reasons I initially got them remain true a month later.

It's a decent punt with low downside anyway.

Who would you bench if you got Barkley this week? If it's RavMo i'd leave it this week.

Considering him because Ravel is a doubt according to the BBC, and I need to get rid of Amalfitano anyway as he and his team are useless http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25275721

Yeah, I mean I was initially considering Oviedo because while Baines was a "couple of weeks" away, it still could translate to a lot of GWs. It's not really worth the risk for that level of threat though. Also there was a big risk that if I bought Oviedo I'd just have another Amalfitano - someone who only gets points from crossed assists. And you know how that goes.
