The Big Numbers – Gameweek 16

A number of midfielders are placed under the spotlight, with Arsenal, City, Chelsea and Liverpool all serving up some strong statistics. The performance of United’s frontmen at Villa and Tottenham’s inability to find the net under the now-departed Andre Boas-Villa also come under analysis as we delve into the data.

I've not seen that much evidence of a really attacking team - Arsenal/Liverpool/Everton/Citeh all look brighter going forward. However I've not seen more than highlights or read more than post match... so going on opionion and editing/team sheets.

Despite the fact he's spent two years being utter toilet, the first 6 months he spent at Arsenal he was great and scored goals. He also scored goals in Bordeaux. When RVP got fit and he fell out of the team and went through personal problems. Maybe he's just coming out the other side now and back to the good player he was.

That said, I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole. Too many other good forward options.

Maybe asking the obvious but i should get Lukaku in for Aguero tonight? This is before Aguero's price drop. It would give me 3.8m in the bank.

    Marshall (liv)
Terry (ars), Coleman (swa), Clyne (TOT) OUT,
Ozil (CHE), Ramsey (CHE), Barkley (swa), Fer (sun)
Aguero (ful), OUT, Suarez (CAR), Rooney (WHU)

Lewis (liv), R Morrison (mun) Koscielny (Chelsea) 25%, Turner (liv)

Worth a hit if Clyne and Koscielny are out. I do not fancy Turner against Liverpool.

    0.1m in the bank.

Having a good bench is important but I'm learning to factor in how they rotate.

However, who knew a bench of Janujaz, Chester and Flanagan scores 25 this GW..

and my choice of Terry, Zab and Barkley scores 8.

These freak results catch people out, not this GW but the next few GW's, because people don't treat them as flukes but think its a trend.

    Don't fall for it.

Is there any science in the Rooney or Negredo debate?
The former seems a more obvious points threat all over, and the only downside is that it doesn't leave me many midfield options and I'll be left without City attacking cover.
Previous to Aguero injury I'd lined up Ivanovic + Brady > Chester + Nasri

    Migs / Harper
    Coleman / Ivanovic / Evans / Caulker / Fonte

Just a note everyone. It's hard to tell as they haven't started many games together, but a quick test in the comparison tool tells me what I expected. When Rafael plays Evra's potential is massively reduced. He'll still be a decent goal threat as he goes up for corners but his assist potential, and his BAP potential is greatly reduced as a lot more tends to go through the right hand side when Rafa is fit, so Evra touches the ball less.

I'll monitor this on Saturday and let you know if this trend looks likely to continue but just fair warning to Evra's owners or potential owners, Rafael can seriously damage your points potential.

        it's tough to say

You should be fairly safe with Jones. He hasn't missed many, in fact I think when fit he's only missed 1 and that was before a European match.

I am getting Evans, with Fellaini injured Evans will play cb with either Jones or Vidic. But of you go Evans make sure you have a decent set of defenders to back him up as there may be the odd rest. If me buying Evans is enough assurance for you, fine

it was, but they've played so little together it's tough to gauge whether that's the norm or just an anomaly. So far comparison of when Rafa has played more that 70 mins suggests it isn't, but the sample size isn't very big.

This Aguero injury has suddenly made things a bit more interesting in my mini league.

What would you guys do out of these two moves?

    Aguero/Barkley to :

    A) Rooney/Mirallis or

    B) Negredo/Silva

    Evening lads!
Please help me out with this lot:
    1FT, 0.7£
    Begovic (Myhill)
    Ward Shaw Coleman (Terry, Rat)
    Bacuna Brunt Hazard Ramsey Whittingham
    Rooney Suarez(C) (Aguero)

    Was thinking:
    1. Agüero + Brunt -> Negredo + Nasri - 4p (exact amount)
    2. Agüero -> Negredo (not hit)
    3. Other suggestion?
    Cheers!
