Granville and I have tackled some hard-hitting issues on the ScoutCast but it was perhaps inevitable that, on handing the opportunity for you, the community, to provide queries, things would ratchet up a few notches and have us chew over the subjects that matter most.

Listen in to this week’s episode and find out how the pair of us answered the first round of questions from you folks – including a humdinger that stretched our limited mental capabilities to breaking point.

Minds blown, we still managed to take on the ScoutCast regulars, rinsing through the bandwagons in all aboard, whilst previewing the forthcoming midweek Gameweek with both our Wildcard’s active. Elsewhere, Granville puts another phantom Lukaku assist under the grill, while I ponder the merits of achieving an unlikely differential using Sergio Aguero and the armband. No really, I’m 12% sure it’s going to work.

      You are not going to be able to rotate well with your defenders as 2 of them are injured and I would not double up on Palace defence.

      Would also be wary of Januzaj game time if United sign Mata. I would monitor ozil as well as his points return recently has been poor.

      Rest of team looks good though.

          The defence is fine for the short term, I would do Ozil to Cabaye and make a 4 point hit next week, would keep Giroud for palace before selling.

    Completely off topic and totally random, but just want an opinion from you lot

    Which design is better?

    I have involved in building a site for a leading global professional editing firm. They are mainly a bunch of editors, but they have a workflow which they rigorously follow. The place where they actually building the content is called the server, and only editors come there to edit and create content.

    But the entire UX focus has been on the client (http://www.editage.com/insights/duplicate-publications-and-simultaneous-submissions), and for some strange reason I think the server whose theming was done within days looks much better than the client. Is it just me and my eyes, or do you agree?

      We applied the Stark Version of the Boostrap theme on client, which took care of 80% of the work. But on client, it was entirely custom developed. I'm just wondering whether it was worth the time, and was the designer any good.

        Was going to say, server looks a lot more "bootstrap-y". Still not great, margins look a bit screwy in some of those divs.

        UX-wise, all of those groupings in the sidebar look exactly the same and get grouped together in my mind. Probably not ideal. I suspect this is one of those cases where breaking somebody's workflow is a much greater sin than not making things look pretty; tread carefully.

          Hmmmm, the server theming was done almost overnight. The server is used just for content creation so no one really cares about the theming. It's probably me being biased, because I think the client site looks old and boring, kinda hate it.....

            Trust me, I know the feeling. But I've also had this conversation (with clients, and with myself) enough times to know that the people who don't give a damn about their hideous website also don't give a damn about how great you made the redesign look (even when they say they do).

            What they actually care about is getting things done, and when they can't find the button or link they're used to clicking, even if it's in exactly the same place, and bigger, and prettier, but they can't see it because they're used to it being blue and now it's green, they get really pissed off.

    I know this is a basic question...
    My ML buddy has now got 2.5 million more than me in TV. I was happy with a good start and stuck with my team while he made more transfers early on. I feel screwed now as he has caught up points wise and has so much cash..... next year I suppose I have to trade often to avoid the problem....

      I tend to take hits early in the season not so much second half of the season. Been inside top 30K last 5 seasons so I tend too agree.

        Yeah, I know. It's very hard to resist the temptation of bunging in some punts and thinking you'll sort it out later if it doesn't work but that's just been a recipe for disaster in my experience. I'm still scarred from the first season I played when my winter wildcard team was decimated by injuries and red cards in the three weeks after I played it. It's better to be conservative and wait for the new Bentekke, Odemwingie or Siggy to appear in the second half of the season as they often do rather than take a gamble.
        I had drafts with Willian, AJ, Ekram and all sorts in there; I still might have a punt on a United defender, though. The triumph of hope over experience!

      In my 2nd year of #fpl and loving it. I play a lot of fantasy sports games but this has quickly taken over as my favourite. Where else can you play against 3million people world wide? I have made some monumental errors this season that in hindsight are just ridiculous. Thanks to this site/forums, I'm pumped for next year and my 3rd season. Maybe I'm dreaming but I want top 10k next year!

        Finished 11k last year in my first year, so yeah just looking to improve on that, pretty confident I will do. Had a overall rank of 2.1Mil after gw5, then I wild carded and improved in rank 16 out of 17 game weeks from then on, so I'm pretty proud of myself already this season tbh.

    I painted windows inside an advertising agency once in my early days and realized that was the time I knew I should be proud of my working class heritage.

    Whoa. I wrote what follows in a post yesterday. Just now, I was on the Premier League website and came across an oh-so similar opinion on Ozil. Basically, it's the same exact opinion.     I have something to say in defense of Ozil. (not an Arsenal fan, by the way). A number of times, I have seen him make excellent runs towards and into the box, and the pass that he expects just doesn't come. The Aston Villa game is the perfect example. He made a bunch of sweet runs, never to be rewarded. Arsenal kept going backwards and almost let Villa back onto even ground.               Your post does not ask a question but offers up debate. He has a sharp brain and is great passer and sees things quickly which really suits Arsenals style.

                Trust me. Watching him on several occasions, I have been left a tad angered by such antics. He is definitely quality. More than anything, I saw him make run after excellent run in the second half of the Aston Villa game, and his fellow players just weren't biting. They kept deciding to go backwards instead. To some degree, maybe that kind of stuff has worn him down a little. I don't know.....in my analysis from the other day, I did say that a bit more beast would suit him. He needs to man up and shoot a little more too. He's had some good chances that he's passed on.

                        I agree with you about Rooney. His work rate, passion and tracking back is second to none and like Suarez has learned to curb his temper * most of the time) but if you pay money to watch these players most of the time you feel you are getting tour moneys worth.

                        We have every right to be critical of players who don't seem to really give a shit.

                        Totally. There is nothing more frustrating than watching a pro athlete who is making tons of cash not lay it all on the field. What really irks me in the PL is when a team has a half ass first half. Then they come out barnstormers and the announcers are all like "the manager must have really given them the hair dryer treatment". Why wouldn't you just try your best from the first whistle?

                        Yeah. It's weird. I think at that point when I picked him up, I had an "awe, F' it" frame of mind because nothing has really come off for me this season. I'm still in and around the 200K mark in terms of overall points, but that's not my cup of tea. You can't win'em all though.
