The Weekend Team News

Seamus Coleman is back for Everton. The injuries build up for Newcastle ahead of tomorrow’s trip to the Bridge. Victor Wanyama and Calum Chambers will be assessed before Southampton’s clash with Stoke, who have a couple of midfield concerns to fret over. James Morrison is back for the Baggies. Glen Johnson and Daniel Agger edge towards a return for Liverpool, whilst Ron Vlaar remains a doubt for Villa’s clash with the Hammers:

Earlier this morning, Roberto Martinez confirmedSeamus Coleman “has come through training really well” ahead of Sunday’s trip to Tottenham. Antolin Alcaraz remains out for the Toffees, whilst Romelu Lukaku is set to miss the next couple of weekends. The Everton manager revealed Ross Barkley has been playing through the pain barrier after sustaining a broken toe but expects the youngster to be fully fit and went on to say he will ”need to check” on Lacina Traore, who is no “fully fit from a medical point of view”.

Newcastle United have revealed that midfielder Cheick Tiote will miss the Magpies’ next two fixtures at least, after he picked up a hamstring injury during the week. Papiss Cisse remains a doubt with a back injury, whilst Alan Pardew has confirmed that Yoan Gouffran is “unlikely” to return this weekend. Elsewhere, captain Fabricio Coloccini is expected to be out for another three weeks.

Mauricio Pochettino confirmed that Victor Wanyama and Calum Chambers came off against Fulham with a knock and dead leg respectively. The pair are back in training, though, and set to be assessed ahead of the Stoke clash. Injury absentees Dejan Lovren and Gaston Ramirez have returned to light training, with Pochettino suggesting that the duo will be back in action “sooner than expected.”

James Morrison is available for West Brom’s clash with Palace this weekend after recovering from the calf problem which led to his absence in Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool. Nicolas Anelka, Jonas Olsson and Stephane Sessegnon have all been ruled out however, with Pepe Mel confirming that defender Craig Dawson will be thrust into the starting XI to face the Eagles.

Brendan Rodgers has suggested that defenders Daniel Agger and Glen Johnson could both return to training next week following calf and ankle/groin problems. The Liverpool boss was less optimistic on Mamadou Sakho, though, revealing that the summer signing is “still out for a little bit.”

Norwich centre-back Ryan Bennett (thigh) has emerged as a doubt for the weekend, with Hughton declaring that it will be “touch and go” as to whether the defender features. Hughton also delivered positive news on the fitness of Michael Turner (hamstring) and Jonny Howson (back), revealing that, despite not being available this weekend, the duo have made good progress in recent days.

Marko Arnautovic and Jon Walters are both concerns for Stoke after limping out of last weekend’s victory over Man United. Mark Hughes remains hopeful that the pair will be available for the trip to Southampton, though. Long-term absentees Matthew Etherington and Andy Wilkinson are back in training for the Potters but Robert Huth is still a couple of weeks away from a return.

Aston Villa have mixed injury news ahead of the visit of West Ham this weekend. Skipper Ron Vlaar remains a doubt with the hamstring problem that forced him off at Goodison Park last week, though there is good news on Gabby Agbonlahor, with Paul Lambert optimistic on the forward’s chances of featuring, revealing that he “looks pretty good at the minute.”

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream as breaking news unfolds.

    If I knew they were both 100% to start I'd be very tempted to punt on Dzeko or Adebayor for captain... Think I'm going to play reasonably safe and go Hazard though.

      And I'm thinking of selling Adebayor for a hit.

      If I knew Dzeko would start I would defo captain him if I owned him.

    Lost on last page and really need some help, any thoughts on this lot:

    Boruc
    Kos, Ward, Coleman
    Ozil, Lallana, Hazard, Mata
    Studge, Suarez, Adebayor

    Williamson, Chester, Canas

    I'm going to take a hit this week:
    A) Ozil + Chester -> Yaya + Ivanovic (-4)
    B) Ozil + Studge -> RVP(c) + Gerrard (-4)
    C) Ozil + Adebayor -> RCP(c) + Johnson (-4)
    Or any other suggestions?

    Heads up for those on the brink of saving an FT this GW.

    For GW26, you will get to see the team sheets for these teams before the deadline

    CAR vs AVL
    HUL vs SOT
    WHU vs NOR
    WBA vs CHE

    Might be a wise thing to save an FT this GW, use one in GW26 after seeing the team sheets and use 2FTs in GW27 based on FA Cup results over the next weekend.

    Bazinga.

      Moyes needs a convincing victory to reassure supporters so I can see him playing something like this;

      RVP
      Mata-Rooney-Januzaj
      Carrick-Fellaini

      Which is his best front 6 configuration imo. If this is the case then Rooney will be at the center of everything and United could put 3 or 4 past Fulham. I think both Mata and Rooney will be in the poi

    Any concerns over any players being rested as there are mid weeks fixtures???

    I wouldn't want any city wing backs or strikers in my team as it could be costly.

      I would. Oscar could as well start ahead of him, you never know. And if you already have Hazard, there's enough Chelsea cover, imo. Lallana has mouth-watering fixtures and is on great form.

    Do you think the Carroll RC will be upheld?

    It's such a tricky situation as it's wasn't a red card (IMO), Chico overplayed the contact and even held the wrong part of his head to 'win the red card'.

    Trying to sho Howard Webb had made "an obvious error" is very hard though as his view was obscured. It was an error on his part but he didn't have a great view it.

        Ridiculous red. It's a contact sport ffs and that was just some back and forth between the two. Chioc's a cock.
        The FA are sorta hand tied though because by the letter of the law it can be a red and that's what the ref gave. A good ref would have used common sense and good judgment and just warned em both to settle down

      The FA Review Panel was instructed to look at Carroll's intent.

      It was not asked to review Chico's reaction.

          I'm saying that Chico's clear over-reaction (which influenced the red card decision) was not taken into account then the review panel looked at the incident.

          If Chico had stayed on his feet (because Carroll only brushed his hair) then Webb MAY have decided that a YC was sufficient.

    After hours of brainache I just cant decide what to do with this team, Ozil and Chester are the the two worries because having to play Kos would mean I'd have 4 players in that game:

    Boruc (Mannone)
    Coleman, Azpi, Koscielny (Chester, Williamson)
    Ozil, Hazard, Toure, Eriksen (Pozuelo)
    Suarez, Sturridge, Dzeko

    A: Sort out Ozil with FT (for Mirallas/Cazorla)
    B: Sort out Chester with FT (for HUL/MCI defender)
    C: Sort out both for -4 hit
    D: Leave both
