The Weekend Team News

Jack Wilshere is ruled out for several weeks, though Aaron Ramsey is due back next weekend for Arsenal. Robert Snodgrass and Ricky van Wolfswinkel return to training for Norwich. Scott Parker is ruled out for Fulham, who also have concerns over Kostas Mitroglou and William Kvist following international duty. Marouane Chamakh emerges as a strong doubt for Palace, Phil Jagielka is unlikely to make Everton’s cup clash with Arsenal, whilst Laurent Koscielny is a doubt with a hamstring problem:

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere sustained a hairline fracture to a bone in his foot whilst on international duty for England in midweek. Following scans and further investigation by the FA and the Gunners, Arsene Wenger confirmed earlier this morning that Wilshere will be out of action for around six weeks. Wenger had some good news on the injury front today, though, after revealing both Aaron Ramsey and Kim Kallstrom are expected to be available for next weekend’s north London derby trip to Tottenham. Elsewhere, the Arsenal manager also admitted that defender Laurent Koscielny picked up a hamstring problem whilst with France and is “a little doubt” to face Everton in the FA Cup this weekend.

Roberto Martinez has given an update on Phil Jagielka’s hamstring injury ahead of Everton’s cup tie with Arsenal, suggesting that the defender is “very unlikely” to feature at the Emirates this weekend.

Norwich’s injury worries have eased ahead of the weekend visit of Stoke, with Robert Snodgrass and Ricky van Wolfswinkel both returning to training following wrist and knee injuries respectively. Chris Hughton remains hopeful that the pair will come through training without any issues prior to selecting his squad. Meanwhile, the Canaries boss is confident both Joseph Yobo and Martin Olsson are fit to face Mark Hughes’s men after withdrawing from international duty in the week. Leroy Fer, Jonas Gutierrez and Michael Turner remain sidelined.

Tony Pulis has revealed that Marouane Chamakh is a doubt for the weekend. The forward suffered a hamstring injury at Swansea last week and the Eagles boss isn’t holding out much hope of the Moroccan being available, suggesting that Chamakh is “struggling.” Pulis also admitted that there are “one or two other niggles” around the camp and a late decision will be made on their availability.

Reports suggest that Fulham’s January signings William Kvist and Kostas Mitroglou both picked up hamstring injuries whilst away on international duty this week, with boss Felix Magath expected to check on the duo’s fitness ahead of the six-pointer with Cardiff. Magath will decide on Mitroglou’s inclusion against Cardiff after conversing with the club’s doctors. Scott Parker is out of tomorrow’s showdown after sustaining a knee injury in training, Fernando Amorebieta is also unavailable with a muscle problem, whilst Damien Duff may not feature again this term due to a knee injury.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream as breaking news unfolds.

I can field 10 and I have two frees. I have Koscielny.

Is it worth transferring him out to get 11 out knowing he potentially has a double for Evra who has a double as well?

Seems such a waste to transfer out a doubler for another one and I don’t have a DGW GK as it stands (Boruc/Davis) so could get in Mannone and roll the other FT over.

    Thoughts?

I'd personally prefer to get Mannone for Davis (CRY next GW, juicy, as well as 3 DGWs) and keep Kos this GW, looking at other options to replace him next GW if need be.

I'm doing the same I think Kosc->Evra. Gives me 10. I'm going to save my other transfer I think.

Yeah but what I'm saying is that is it worth shifting a doubler for another one?

if you have 2 frees, you'll lose one if you dont use it, so I'd definitely shift Kos for Evra. Evra has a game this week so you have 11, and has a double, followed by other plum fixtures. Arsenal's fixtures are awful, and their on the verge of a collapse imo.

yes it is worth a doubler for a doubler, look at the fixtures as well as the amount of them.
evra over a 5-6 week period has far better fixtures, as well as one extra.

just cause he's got a double doesn't mean you have to keep him.

they have awful fixtures all around the double too. and a blank this week. Think the swans will even score against them, and that's potentially the only clean sheet before gw 34.

Taking a hit this GW, hmm. I don't like it. I think Aguero is a better bet for the DGW, especially if they lose to Barca which seems likely. I'd go Kos -> someone for free, then look at getting Aguero next GW.

      Last in previous page:

1 FT for Mata. Which one should I transfer out that his game time is more questionable:

      A) Eriksen
      B) Noone

It's just 1 week punt. The only important thing is only and only to play in GW29.

Why Mata ?..It's a lot of money for a one week punt. Better off looking at the Cardiff Fulham game for a cheap pick and then > bench...Two worst sides in the league for chances conceded or Mata against a tidy WBA team when playing at home.

Maybe. Then again if Moyes benches him and they lose he essentially vindicates all those that day he hasn't a clue and he further distances himself from RVP, arguably the player that could still get something out of it for United.

Tough situation but I reckon he starts.

I must admit I have a minor worry on this, but overall I would be amazed if it happened.

Also, Hernandez injured his knee on international duty which limits the options a tad.

At the end of the day RVP has scored 4 in the last 5, why would Moyes drop him when he needs wins badly?

        i am

besides many of the players u would need for the week 31 double have nice fixtures week 30 (sunderland, everton, man city ) as well so u might as well wildcard then. what is the benefit of waiting one more week?

Though a WC in GW30 has its own benefits - saving a FT (at least a plan) to enjoy having podt DGW, probable lower prices for some players

evra's in them all so you can take him out of the this.

I think Yaya is the most essential, so B is out.
c and a are the same, so lets rule A out.

Mata and Remy vs Aguero and Puncheon. Tough one. prob D because you have Aguero too.

          Why do you have Pozuelo?

I don't know a great deal about the United defence but Smalling has been pretty regular in the last 10-15 weeks and Evans is out for another three weeks. I gather that this makes him pretty nailed on for the short term and possibly even the long term.

      Judge and Jury

Alan Pardew, you have pleaded guilty to the charges before you and it is my duty to sentence you.

You have shown scant regard for either the rules or standards of behaviour expected from a man in your position in the past, I have however decided upon a final lenient punishment for your behaviour in the hope you will take the time to get anger management help from a professional therapist.

You will serve a ten Premier League match ban from from all grounds your 1st team is playing.
In addition you will serve the same ban from grounds where your Secound 11 and Youth teams play until the Premier League banning order is completed.

Be also advised I intend to recommend a season long ban should a similar offence occur in the future.

You the jury now have a chance to offer your opinion and perhaps an alternative sentence that you would deliver.

Go on then before the real case is settled. See who gets closest?

Hardly. Managers deserve different rules to players. The intention was to headbutt Meyler, and I think they should throw the book at him.

Pardew is a lunatic, he clearly has a problem. Think FA would be justified if they banned him for 20 odd games. That's probably just wishful thinking though…

He's not a loony, just a very passionate manager for a change. Nonetheless, it shouldn't happen and I agree he deserves what's coming

Not guilty, feck off do gooders, heat of the moment stuff ,would have had a beer together in the bar afterwards with Meyler,as the lad Shakespeare said*much ado about nothing*...

          its a tricky one.

On the one hand - the vast majority of people who headbutt someone while they were working would be sacked.

On the other players get a 3 match ban for similar.

I wonder what precedent has been set before i.e. what happened last time a manager headbutted an opposing player?

I would ban him for 12 games, make him do some sort of anger mgmt, big fine to charity of David MEylers choice - Pardew was lucky he didnt react!

I agree. Meyler knocked him out of the way, Pardew reacted angrily.
Pardew did not head butt him.

Or Meyler tried to get the ball as Pardew stood in front of it to get on with the game, Meyler did make contact, then Pardew chased after him.
You really think this a standard of acceptable behaviour you would want to see a manger nutting your kids in a school game maybe?

i think we need a new word to seperate this kind of 'head butt' from a real one which would actually cause damage

      Hey guys,

In abit of a dilemma and I have 2 transfers this week.
Not really too sure on what to do with my team:

      Speroni | Marshall
      Koscielny | Ward | Bennet | Coleman | Fonte
Hazard | Gerrard | Adam | Mata | Yaya Toure
      J Rod | Long | Suarez

      I was thinking
      Bennet > Shawcross
      Adam > Lallana

then il have -1.8 in the bank so would need to take a 4 point hit to make the funds back up.
      Im so confused..... HELP!

Adam to Lallana is a definate,
My only concern is if thats the only transfer I make, I willl only be able to field 8 players tomorrow :/ plus trying to plan in advance of the double game week 31.

I'd say neither really, if i had to go with one it would be Bruce though due to him playing the full 90 in the previous 3 games.

Collins is definantly more nailed on, Look at minutes played over the last 10 gameweeks for them all. Bruce and Chester are both intermittent.

60 points behind ML leader and 50 in front of 3rd place, both have Yaya.

Do i go cap in hand and get him in next week or do i go with a differential that is Silva......thoughts?
