    A) Baines, Eriksen, Silva; or
    B) Zabaleta, Gerard, Barkley
A will cost me -4 in hits over next 2 gw going into gw 34

Already have Coleman and Yaya, plan to get Aguero in as well.

What would you change in this lot:

    Mannone/ Boruc
    Coleman/ Baines/ IVanovic/ Flangan/ Ward
    Hazza/ Yaya/ Nasri/ AJ/ Ince
    Suarez/ Lukaku/ Sturridge; 2 FT, 0.2 in bank

I am thinking of losing Ince/Flanagan....maybe Hazza/ AJ

    What would you do DZ?

        Just for discussion: Why not?

In last 10 matches, he has scored 5 Goals & 2 Assists. Except 3 against Newcastle, he has scored 1 in matches where Chelsea scored 4 & 6 goals and 1 was penalty

Yesterday also he looked very anonymous. I know Chelsea fixtures are juicy and he is on penos, but why not someone like Eriksen who is form?

Hazard is an explosive player, he can explode at any time and he'll definitely have a few quite games where you're not even sure if he's on the pitch. But then he'll go and score a hattie in the next game and you're fecked.
He's a template player, owned by 39.6% of FPL players, that's a massive amount. If you don't have him, every time he does something, your rank will surely go down.
Plus he has fantastic fixtures till the end of the season. At home to Stoke, after losing to Palace looks like a game I'd want Hazard for.

          - In a team playing for the title
          - Great fixtures
          - Explosive potential
          - On penalties
          - Nailed on
          - High ownership (if he does well, you don't)

Too risky to go without IMO.

Yeah downgrade him to a cheapie to make some cash. I doubt you'll need to play your 5th mid so go for someone really cheap that plays.

Yikes bad news - sorry to hear. 23 from 5 here, small red but happy with it so far given how things have gone. I am without any shares of Chelsea defense so the Palace goal didn't hurt me. My GW looks to depend on an Everton clean tomorrow as I am with Baines and Coleman.

At this point in the season if you are going to be forced to play your 5th mid you've lost the plot. Assuming your 2 benched defenders are nailed you will never have to rely on your 5th mid and those extra .3 - .5 could make a huge difference in your actual starting xi.

That said, the options available for a mid up to 7.3 are poor. May do well to just do Ince to Mutch and start him in gw33 and gw35 as he has good fixtures for those two weeks and give AJ a go in his double for 34?

I like the idea. Would still prefer Mutch if downgrading AJ. He has a couple great home fixtures in the next three while Swans have some tougher ones. And it's an extra 1 million banked 😉

Still not sold on Eriksen personally. Spurs seem a mess and TS seems to be figuring it out as he goes along. Would watch the game today very closely and maybe make a determination afterwards. Not much in the 6.0-7.0 mid price bracket to be fair at the moment.

I can't have yaya now - he already ruined my season - I shall have aguero and Demi for the Dgw. And AJ has two doubles, and looked threatening in the 30 minutes he played last game. Don't know...

Some of the best defending from a midfielder that you're likely to see. That's what makes me a fan of his, this year at least. Same goes for Flamini.

If we still had a "man in the stands" bonus system, Gerrard would/should hover them up

          Can't say I agree here.

He has done well enough to hold his own in front of their back four, but he has lost considerable pace and has taken several cards on risky sliding challenges because of this. I don't think he rates among the top of CDMs in the PL today. He more than makes up for it with his offensive contributions, though, clearly.

Fair points. But, he's not a CDM. Not historically at least, which is why the defensive shifts he puts in impress me so much. On one side of the coin its "rash sliding tackles," and on the other its "throwing your body in the way of danger." He may not always be graceful at it, but he's fearless and committed this year.

And you just essentially made both mine and Berbilly's points. He is not a natural CDM. He is doing an admirable job, but he is not among the top in the league at his current position.

Fernandinho, YYT, Matic has looked brilliant at times, Ramires, I love Wanyama even tho he has dropped off recently with his injury problems, Lucas when healthy. Just a few off the top of my head I rate.

Yeah, I'd agree with Flamini. In general though, Arsenal don't play with an out-and-out DM, but with more box-to-box mids, like Ramsey, Wilshire. Even Arteta is not really a DM. Spurs' midfield has been decimated this season and Utd's is just awful.

I'd say Matic is the best in the league now, from the few games I've seen him play. Fernandinho, Schneiderlin, Lucas, Tiote and Medel all decent too.

I know where you're coming from, but those "throwing your body in the way of danger" are a direct result of him lacking the positional awareness to prevent the player getting in that position in the first place. The top DMs will intercept a lot of those passes or force the player away from the shooting chance.

Don't know what games you're watching, but in general he's a defensive liability most of the time. His marking and positioning is dreadful. Just as well he's so good offensively that it makes up for these shortcomings.

      Lallana.

Third striker spot is very valuable. Lala has been so consistent in his point returns and is so influential and integral to their attack every game. JRod has been terrific for his price, and I have owned him for stretches this year so far, but don't fancy doubling on their attack for the run in. Lambert is prone to the occasional rest and early sub off which turns me off of him.

Took a punt on Jelavic for DGW31 and am still looking at him in my squad. Am going to keep him for this weekend with SWA on the cards but getting him out right after. Will be looking at about 8.7 / 8.8 for his replacement going into GW34 and am not too keen on Lukaku - any suggestions lads?

    Thanks in advance!

Yeah Benteke has been on my radar. He can't finish this season though it has been so frustrating to watch him!!!! He should have had a brace yesterday against United. Could do for his double in 37 though. Bony too - he's been bang on form recently. Interesting possible punt on a Stoke striker. Thanks for the input, I will give it a good think.

He just doesn't pass the eye test to me. He seems so dependent on service which sorely lacks with this Everton's squad. Even though he is a "beast" in the air, he doesn't seem to get on the end of the countless crosses they send into the box from their fullbacks out wide. Mirallas, Delo, and Barkley are all largely selfish players to me who always seem to just want to shoot every time they get within sniffing distance of the box. I just don't rate him at the moment, and even though he is the obvious choice for the double I don't really want to bring him in.

You know my view on this as per earlier - yes. But also keep in mind how well Cardiff and Sunderland rotate all the way through the final gameweek! If your TV is low and you can't afford a pricier 4th mid option, that rotation at 4th mid spot could be a great way to save funds and still get solid point production.

Kinda thinking I should get Hazard this week, which would mean a downgrade elsewhere.

        Perhaps

        A) Nolan & Gerrard -> Hazard & 5.8m or below mid, or
        B) Nolan & Gerrard -> Hazard & 4.3m or below mid (leaves enough cash for Sturridge -> Aguero in GW34)

Also quite like the look of Eriksen, so could just do a straight

        C) Nolan -> Eriksen move, or even:
        D) Distin, Nolan & Gerrard -> Ward/Vlaar/Bardsley (sub 4.6m), Hazard & Eriksen (4 points)

        Thoughts?

Didn't notice no Hazard. Nolan and Gerrard > Hazard and Mutch sounds good but that depends if you're happy playing him every week.

Can you do Williamson, Nolan & Gerrard > Hazard, Eriksen and Chambers/Dann? Think I'd prefer that.

Nah, I'm 0.3m short of that move 🙁

The Mutch move looks good, just annoying that i'll be 0.4m short of getting Aguero next week. Perhaps do that anyway, or even D), and then plan to take a 4 pointer to get Aguero in for GW34 if he is back?

Yeah a 4 pointer for Aguero isn't the end of the world. You'll be disappointed if you leave money in the bank for him and then find out he's not even back for GW34.

Sunderand's 34 double is crap though. Certainly they will not keep a clean in either of those fixtures and you will likely do better with a player with a single game..just something to keep in mind.

Yeah, this kinda goes against the grain, although I'd be benching him this week anyway, and have Baines as cover for EVE defence in the DGW.

Nolan & Sturridge -> Hazard & Dzeko too risky?

What is your selling value on Nolan? Any chance you can get Lallana in for him without dropping one of your core?

Gerrard obviously out if he gets a yellow...so could be moot this evening.

7.1m selling value for Nolan, so am short of getting Lallana unforts.

Have listed a few options above - think these are my best ones. Whatcha reckon?

I would absolutely not get rid of Gerrard unless he gets a ban. I think he is in the same category as YYT and Hazard at this point. Would consider downgrading Nolan to Mutch to bank funds with an eye to switch Lukaku after his double for maybe Rooney prior to 37?

He's been a great fpl asset this season, I just can't help thinking he can't keep getting penos and freekicks. Cause them aside he barely gets involved going forwards. Plus he has no double and tough fixtures.

Nolan -> Mutch looks a great way to save cash, slightly concerned at no Hazard this week though - expecting a CHE backlash at home to STO....

I overlooked no Hazard in your squad 🙂 would be concerned about that as well. Gerrard has been getting the penos and free kicks literally all season and we are nearing the end - no reason why that should stop. The amount they spend in the box generates a massive amount of penalties. Sounds like you want to get rid of Gerrard though, so just go ahead and do it! Hopefully he gets that yellow and you don't have to think about it much more.

Cheers. Another potential move I just spotted that keeps Gerrard is:

                Nolan & Sturridge -> Hazard & Dzeko

Obviously a tad risky with Dzeko's gametime, but he seems to have the nod over Negredo at the moment, so could still do well.... Worth the risk?

I like the idea a lot but I think you need to select a different striker than Dzeko. Cannot have a non-nailed third striker. Too much of a risk for me. Go with JRod or Bony instead. I actually really like this potential move. Would recommend it.

Would have to be JRod as I'd only have 7.1m available. Dzeko having 2 more fixtures (2 DGWs), better fixtures than JRod and with something to fight for (i.e. the title) is mighty tempting....

Which 2 trannies to do this week?

Not answering this specific question, but Ivan to Baines before GW34 looks great next week for you if you have the funds for it. Could keep Baines for the run in and get rid of Coleman after that double.

    Morning.

    My moan for this morning....

After owning JRod for about 6 weeks and massing close to nothing on points I eventually sold gw28.

    Results since...

    5 goals in 4 games = 36 points.

    Unbelievable.

Same here (on Mata -> Yaya). I put a lot of work into my plan for 32-35, I'm buggered if a goal and an assist is going to turn my head now 🙂

Never got round to transfering JRod out though, and it's not hurt me too much (though I was casting envious glances at Dzeko and Lukaku owners last week).
