Community Submissions Area – Now Live

The new Community Submissions section is now live. You can get to this section to view any published articles and to submit an article, via the Community tab in the menu bar. You will also notice a new Articles tab in the previously named Comments widget in your sidebar. The most recently published community submissions will be listed here.

In case you missed our previous update on this, this new section allows any registered user to post us an article for review, which can then be published on the site in the new Community section. Some articles may also be promoted to the homepage listing and sit alongside our regular articles.

As we mentioned last week, in many ways, this is an extension of the Hot Topics feature in our HomeCrowd comments system. The community can now interact with us and fellow community members by posting comments, Hot Topics and now fully fledged articles.

It’s now over to you to help shape this community section. While we’ve suggested categories for article submissions in the form, you have the freedom to submit articles on any given area of Fantasy Football. Player scout reports, tactical analysis, statistical breakdowns (members or non-members related), features on a particular topic or dilemma and, of course, information on any free community tournaments you’re running will all be considered and possibly published in this section.

Our recent Drop the Flop article – as devised and written by Swanny14 – is an example of our willingness to take on, develop and promote new editorial ideas, so if you have any suggestions for future content, feel free to get involved.

We are particularly interested in hearing from fans of a Premier League club to provide expert analysis and match reports or, at this stage, perhaps a review of the season from their club’s perspective. Ultimately, our hopes are to have a community expert on board for each team in the top-flight in any given season – this could be your chance to be our eyes and ears on the latest goings-on at your club.

We’d like to think that there are several potential writers out there who will spring from the submissions section and evolve into contributors to help take the site forward in the coming years. We will re-launch the section prior to next season when the community welcomes some new faces but, this soft launch is an opportunity for our current community to get involved, prior to the World Cup and pre-season.

If any of you fancy yourself as experts on a particular World Cup nation, have a list of players to watch or simply want to review your Fantasy season or focus on initial squad targets for the next, then pen your article and post it to us via the submissions area.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Morning all,

    Current Team is:

    Vito (Adrian)

Cahill - Jones - Zaba (ward - chester)

Mata - Ramsey - Yaya - Sterling (No one)

    Suarez - Aguero - Roon

Depending on pressers I'm thinking, Aguero to Dzeko, Roon to Studge and Jones to Kos or Baines. Would leave 6m itb. Sound about right?

    Cheers !

If I need to go out of the frames, would you rather have Lukaku or Adebayor for the final day? Or some other not so template striker ?

Must be both same club? Roma really has the coolest this year, too bad to you as most clubs imo have much worse kits this season than last one, and Roma just happened to be the one exception.

      I would maybe take Lille:

Hey guys. Squeaky bum time, my ML is not settled. I'm 24 points ahead and me and my rival only have TWO players in common. Anything can happen. I'd like to decrease the risk and mirror his team slightly as I've got no OR to play for anymore... his scary diffs IMO are

    Dzeko
    Yaya
    Coleman
    Iva

First two are obviously the biggest concerns... I think I've got it down to two options.

    A) Demichelis & AJ & Aguero -> Coleman/Iva & Yaya & Dzeko (-8)
    B) Nasri & Aguero -> Yaya & Dzeko (-4)

A lets me get rid of AJ, but means another hit. B is cheaper, but only 2 attacking City players and one more differential (which could be good or bad, depending on the outcome).

Depends who your defenders are. I dont see Coleman or Ivan being that dangerous -4. Agree you have to get Yaya and Dzeko in. B seems better imo.

I've got a good defense really, it's just that it's different, and the risk factor is worrying me a bit. I've got Demi Azp Ward with Dann first sub. I'd actually PREFER Demi over Coleman this GW, but with goalscoring defenders you never know what'll happen. Maybe I'm being too cautious 😉

Yeah I brought him in aswell. Ditched him this week. It not worth the risk I think.in general though. You bring in a player and he's still crocked costs you points and two transfers minimum bringing him in and taking him out. Often ruining your team in the process.

If they don't have Dzeko he's your man, although lots will bring him in. I think Studge could be a better bet for those trying to close the gap. It's a bit 'Death or Glory' now, no point in bringing in anyone who's not a differential if you're chasing IMO

        Cheers.

There is only 11 points between 1st and 4th so it is really close.

I will obviously try and work out who that are bringing in and go from there. Sturridge and Dzeko are sufficiently different in price to be able to ascertain which one they get if the only make one transfer. I suspect the two team with Aguero and Rooney will do both. My only good differentials this week are Eriksen - they all have Sterling and City defense.

Just a thought - if the points are really close, you might make up the gap by NOT taking a hit when everyone else has ? If not, you have to gamble of differentials since the leaders will almost certainly be playing to block the teams below

I have considered this and might be what I go for. Just do Aguero to Dzeko and play this. MY only significant risk will then be a Sterling explosion. To be honest, if City go into an early lead the Liverpool game could well be a bit of a damp squib.

Yaya has been most dependable in this biz end of the season.
Suarez cant be overlooked, but he's dropped off the intensity a little lately IMO
      Nasri is hot and cold.

Dzeko. He has the form (Sturridge has looked off the pace since his return) and City have the momentum. If City go into an early lead they will go on to score loads and the life will be sucked out of Liverpool (and the Anfield crowd)

I agree with this, I'd probably go Dzeko as well. West Ham have just fought themselves to safety, last game of the season, away versus the (probable) league winners... just feel like it's a tough game to motivate the Hammers for.

Anyone else with interesting 'Death or Glory' transfer ideas to try and catch up a large ML gap?

    Here's mine;
Triple CHE defence + Terry (C)

If Chelsea keep a clean sheet, that's 24pts plus any bonus pts for a -4 hit.

It could work but you have to net off the effect of not giving the captaincy to somebody who is likely to score more.

Triple CHE defense is not the worst setup this GW, but focusing on defense has a low upside. I think I'd rather have a cheeky attacking punt and (c) him, like Hazard, Sturridge, Lukaku, whatever. Even Dzeko could be a diff (c).

Yes, obviously it would depend on who your ML leader already has - mine has Dzeko so won't sell him. Studge could do it, but I'm really trying to think outside the box of a move that won't be anticipated - you've only got to be unlucky and choose the same striker that they bring in, and you're sunk

Very true! However I doubt he'll bring in Lukaku if he's leading, if he does he's pretty loco. So he has Aguero, and you think he'll ditch?

No, he has a very stable front 3 of Suarez, Dzeko Giroud, who I think he'll keep and make a midfield change. I'm just trying to catch him out really, but I'm still playing with lots of different ideas at the moment. Cheers for the input

Then he's not going to mess with that, it's beautiful this GW. In other words Sturridge and Lukaku could be big differentials to you. That's the way I'd go, if the gap is big Terry (c) is not going to do it 99 out of 100 GWs.

I don't think this would catch a large ML lead, maybe a small one, but it would also mean keeping the poor attacking options that didnt work out for you last week.

That's a fair comment. Frustratingly bad week for me, and went from 20pts ahead to 50 pts behind - unlikely to close a gap like that, hence wild transfer ideas 🙂

Can someone shed some light on the rules here. Here is where I'm at:
    - My ML is a head to head
    - The matches are still displaying last week's (37) scores and it still shows that it is semi-final
    - Also I have drawn with my rival this week (93 a piece)

    2 questions:
    1. When will the Final matchups will be shows
    2. What happens if 2 teams drew in the semis?

FFS regulars…I’m in desperate need of your collective wisdom…

I’m a measly 6 points ahead of my only rival for ML glory…
We both have a fairly average defence…but he’s looking better set for his front 7…

    HIM: Sterling, Gerrard, Giroud

    ME: Eriksen, Mata, Rooney

    We’ve both got Rambo and Aguero…but I’ve got Noone…

Seems like getting rid of one/both of Mata/Rooney seems sensible…but who for? Gerrard + Sturridge?

If you're just 6 points ahead, taking a hit seems risky to me... personally I think Mata will start.

I would look at ditching whoever is ruled out from your strikers. If both are out I'd bite the bullet on the hit. This GW I like Sturridge, Lukaku, Dzeko as replacements.

Giggs before Hull game said Evra (& Rio) should be given a new contract.
Evra (& Rio) left out of the squad vs Hull completely.

    a) Evra is not asking for a new contract, will probably leave and will not be included v SOU. No last OT game like Vidic.

    b) Evra was rested, will be back on Sunday.
