With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would be prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

Ryan’s biggest concern is his cheap defenders. Any ideas for improvement there? Is he right to spend so much on Ivanovic or to trust in Stevan Jovetic replicating his preseason form?

      Stick with it! Good team, good mixture. Maybe not too keen on lovren to start with but going forward he'll be good. You could downgrade krul to 4m gk then upgrade lovren to 6m def

        yeah i like the bego/ krul rotation but you might be right. might be worth sticking with one and upgrading the defence

      Thanks for rating my team so i thought i would return the fovour. I prefer the beg, krul rotation, just couldnt afford it so good choice although i noticed that stoke had one tough GW in the first 12 or so which was in GW3. I just cant justify the extra 0.5m with stokes good fixtures. chambers is a risk as mert will be abck in gw2. i would stick in either chester or PVA unless you aim to tfr him out in gw2?! otherwise looks good!!!

        thanks! i'm toying with the idea of transfering out dzeko for riviere and strengthening the defence... ah bring on kick off and end this torture

    Possibly looking to change keeps to DeGea / Gilks, if so who should I swap out Jones for @5.0m.

    Or should I stick with the team as it is??

      Gerrard is an interesting one. Could be a decent shout but I can see him properly starting to fade this season so am waiting on how he starts first

        Thanks. It's just Bojan's initial fixtures are so good can play him almost every game! Will certainly have another look at that though

    I'd appreciate any assistance with this lads, this is my last chance to lock in a team before the deadline.

    My team comes down to the following options:

    1. Sterling, Marney, Bartley (Team prediction 311.xx)
    2. Jones, Siggy, Mutch (Team prediction 319.xx)

    Bego / Myhill
    Cahill Chester Ward xxx Wisdom
    Hazard Ramsey Mata xxx xxx
    Rooney Costa Bojan

    Option #1:
    No real option other than a 3-4-3 formation each week, subs will be 4.0, 4.0, 4.5
    Liverpool player

    Option #2:
    Gives me the option to play, 3-4-3, 4-3-3, 4-4-2, 3-5-2 etc.
    No Liverpool player

    Crystals uncertainty has thrown me through a loop :/ thought I was all set but now I'm not sure... going to ditch Ward I guess but I can't decide on Jones or Debuchy. .. not really convinced of either for different reasons... any advice? Already sitting on Cahill / Van A / (wisdom) / (hutton)

      Debuchy seems a good bet and I wanted some Arsenal defence coverage

      I'd get wisdom for hutton. Otherwise, I think it's a good squad. 8/10.

        Sounds good, do you reckon Wisdom is as nailed on as Hutton though?

        I would go for B 🙂 Hazard can be downgraded if either he flops or Fab rises in price.

      If you've got a forward line and mids like that you've got to expect complacency in the defence, Saying that yours is solid, they are all nailed on so you should be fine

        Thanks - I'm thinking about keeping an eye on Luis and B. Davies over GW1-3 so that I may be able to upgrade the defence somewhat if they become starters.

      Literally identical team to mine except I've gone with Terry & Jovetic and you've gone with Luis and Dzeko. So naturally I love it. 😀

      Perhaps Albrighton to Marney since Albrighton won't play the first couple of weeks.

      Decent team. I would downgrade Krul to a 4.0m keeper to save 0.5m since Bego will be sufficient. Perhaps too much money on the bench (Siggy) and in defence?

      that defence is a bit ropey chief. and little point in having wanyama in there IMO. downgrade hazard to fabgregas perhaps and use the extra million to upgrade from vlaar to a 5.5m defender (debuchy for example)
