With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would be prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

Ryan’s biggest concern is his cheap defenders. Any ideas for improvement there? Is he right to spend so much on Ivanovic or to trust in Stevan Jovetic replicating his preseason form?

      Save 0.5M by doing Ivan ➡ Cahill.
      Everything else looks very good, be wary of rotating attackers and mids like Siggy and Bojan, it's pretty difficult.
      Nice punt in Lamela!

        I did Cahill to Ivan today, I like the differential that Ivan offers but might get in Cahill and use that 0.5 to boost the rest of my defence.

        I like Lamela as a punt too, worth it for a few weeks at least.

      Looks great to me. The only question mark would be over Ivan's starts. I'd imagine he'd play most of the time though. Do you think Huth will start ahead of Wilson when fit?

    So with Welbeck and RVP not being fit , who will be playing along Rooney ? Hernandez ? or maybe kagawa/Mata ?

      Probably Hernandez IMO, would not want to see LVG being defensive minded in the opener.

      I like it. I assume you plan to transfer Chambers fairly soon? How confident are you that Giroud will always start, especially when Walcott is back?

    I have jiggled the team around a bit (ok, a lot), can you please RMT:

    DDG (Krul)
    Terry / Debuchy / Jones (Dummett / Bruce)
    Sanchez / Sterling / Ramsey / Shelvey (El Ahmadi)
    Costa / Rooney / Bojan

    I could change Sterling to Fabregas and find 0.5m somewhere (e.g., downgrade Shelvey)...?

      bench needs to be more nailed.
      -Dummett is a poor choice
      -bruce is 50/50
      -El Ahmadei < Marney
      Personally sanchez is alot , ramsey and mata would be just as good and save 1.5
      -Doubling up on united defence? GK should be 4.5 + 4.5 or 5.5 + 4.0
      You have 5.5 + 4.0

      I've seen a couple of Toffees fans saying that Naismith has been shining recently, and Lukaku has questionable fitness. Go for it, I reckon.

      I prefer the second team as there are less risks, risks are avoidable at the start in my opinion, these players including chambers (who will start first couple GW but after that you'll have to ship him out) Mannone isn't certain, likely but not certain. I'm also not a huge fan of Vlaar, the defence in the second team, as well as having De Gea in goal looks a lot nicer

      I don't know as Mannone will get much game time. I can't imagine Pantilimmon will have moved from the Man City Bench to be ion the Sunderland bench

        This is exactly what I was thinking, there will be competition between the sticks which means uncertainty, don't want to be spending transfers on goalkeepers ideally

      You're up top looks strong, that team is looking virtually identical to what I had a couple days ago, I ended up downgrading Dzeko to Austin in order to improve defence, it's not a bad defence but I do feel like there could be quite a few clean sheets out there to start with, like last year. It's a matter of opinion tbh, no necessity to change your defence
