The Rate My Team Discussion

With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would be prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

Ryan’s biggest concern is his cheap defenders. Any ideas for improvement there? Is he right to spend so much on Ivanovic or to trust in Stevan Jovetic replicating his preseason form?

  I don't see why not. Mata and Rooney are expected to score well and are chosen by many. Their fixtures are great and their defenders are cheap at 5.5. I've gone with three myself.

My final effort:

Beg (Gilks)

Debuchy PVA Chambers (NTaylor Wisdom)

Hazard Wilshire Mata Young (Marney)

Roo Costa Sturridge

Weak at the back but got half decent rotation. Chambers out for a Stokey at some point early on. Punting on Wilshire over siggy and henderson just to be different.....

    ha thats basically the team I had about 10 mins ago. Took Hendo out as I've just got a feeling Wilshire will be given an attacking role so taken a punt. I've lost the .5 ITB though so still debating about it....

      Chambers for (gw1 only), PVA probably the best, may get a few bonus points. I also like Chester although you can get Bruce for 4m if he does start

      if you have Krul, I'd get Chester for adding a new team to your defense, even if you don't Hull have decent 4-5 GWs ahead. Coloccini after GW1

    I thought that too, but seems to be preferred to Gibbs and takes set-pieces. Also, Zabaleta is doubtful, so may start over Zaba.

  Luis not certain to start, if possible find 0.5m to upgrade him.
  
  I reckon Hazard -> Fab and Sanchez -> Ram will free you up 2.5m so you can do Siggy to Sterling/Eriksen

  Will you ever play Mannone? I would downgrade him to 4.0 and play ddg every week and with that 0.5 I would probaply upgrade El Ahmadi.
  
  Vlaar was good at WC but Villa is shiete. Chester is far more better imo in 4.5 range.

My doubts are:

>Is Lukaku actually injured or will he play?
