True, but this site's template gravitates towards, and even shapes, the top 10k template. Usually a good indicator of how the 'non-casuals' are doing. I guess today was a victory for the casuals then, right?

Stupid Price System this year, now basically the whole of FPL can jump onto Costa bandwagon and his price will only rise 0.5 at most, so stupid. Not encouraging different teams at all.

Can't even afford to play the punts this season and that for me has killed a big part of the game for me.

not talking about max, just sheer amount of transfers needed for rise. e.g. 250k for 0.2 rise.

Bear in mind that the number of people playing FPL has risen to over 3m. When they set the pricing algorithm there was less than 2m. It had become too volatile.

I suspect most of this new crowd will be inactive beyond first 10 gameweeks, I doubt the core group of players has expanded too much. I guess it means price stability, just reckon a dynamic system would be more engaging, depends what you prefer i guess.

don't think it makes much difference to be honest - it just means those who go from bandwagon to bandwagon don't end up with 120m to spend on their Jan WC.

A good player is a good player, regardless of equity. The value only matters if you are selling

Fair enough, and I guess this way, the game is more competitive too.

Someone has already pointed out that lower price rises actually encourage avoiding herd mentality. Now you can afford to ignore Costa or Siggy if you feel punty and think that someone will outscore them. Back then you had to get them just because of the price rises - they'd be out of reach in two, three weeks. The changes are really encouraging differentiation to me.

      1. CellinoArmy
        • 10 Years
        9 years, 9 months ago

Everyone is ending up with the same team though, that's the problem. Ofcourse you can take a punt now but the thing is if that punt fails you can then easily jump onto a form player which seem unfair a bit to someone who risked it and jumped earlier for him. Likewise, if your punts successful and the players a gem, people can all get him cheap, meaning like scores and like teams all round to an extent.

That said, yes I agree, potentially taking a punt can give you a big points differential at minimal cost.

        1. piquiblanco
          • 10 Years
          9 years, 9 months ago

Everyone would end up with the same team anyway. We'll be just able to get Siggy or another bandwagon object instead of Albrighton or another 4.5, who would be on 25% ownership anyway.

It was harder to move onto them late though wasn't it due to price rises? I mean i've stayed away from Costa, but despite good consistent performances, he'll only set me back 0.2/0.3 more if say i buy him in 2 gameweeks time (not sure why i'd buy on worse fixtures but it's a scenario.)

so on that evidence, bandwagoning is encouraged less, you are free to punt without the risk of being priced out later 😀

    A) Fábregas Tadic Sterling Lamela
    Sturridge Agüero Diego Costa

    B) Fábregas Mata Sterling Lamela
    Balotelli Agüero Diego Costa

    C) Fábregas Gerrard Sterling Lamela
    Lukaku Agüero Diego Costa

    D) Fábregas Sánchez Dyer Lamela
    Sturridge Agüero Diego Costa

    E) Fábregas Sánchez Sterling Lamela
    Pellè Agüero Diego Costa

Which is best moving forward, Liverpool seem to scoring goals need some cover for them. Any advice or suggestions.

    Krul Bego
    Jones Clyne PvA Chester Dummett
    Fabregas Sanchez Lamela Siggy Marney
    Rooney Costa Jovetic

2FT and 0 in the bank and want to do Lamela > Sterling. Need 0.6, any ideas? Want to keep Sanchez for now (didn't look great today but Wenger will surely not wanna play Sanogo up top for a while after that performance).

Why wouldn't people start chambers, up against a Leicester side who we were tipped to keep a cs against, and if he doesn't play then someone else comes in the from the bench. I played my wc and got him and costa in, both in great form, started costa because hes worth it even if he came off the bench. Not luck, well yes luck but also good thinking xD, kinda. Having and captaining a man u player is where my brain went out the window...

So, THE question for me and many others i guess:

When to do the Mata => Sterling transfer?

    A) do it today
    B) wait untill transfer deadline is over
    C) Wait untill international games are over

      C) what happens if sterling is injured on int duty or other importqnt plater. Save ft is my oppinion. I am in pretty much the same boat.

Yep. Bigger fish to try and I wouldn't bet against Jose slamming his defence causing an inevitable string of clean-sheets.

I've decided that unless I need the funds elsewhere I'm keeping him all-season.

    Easy peeps,

Time to get rid of Coutinho. Here's my team..

    Guzan / Foster
Van Aaanholt / Chester / Moore / Caulker / Colo
Yaya / Coutinho / Mata / Siggy / Davis (Stephen)
    Rooney / Costa / Ade

No money ITB and only 1 FT

Was thinking to take a -4 to change Coutinho to Sterling then swap either Yaya or Mata for Fab/Ramsey.

Not sure which of those two to take out as United have the easier fixtures but as we know they're attacking prowess is abysmal atm.

Yaya looked v good in the last game and was highly involved, should have had a peno too.
Problem is City's next two fixtures are ARS & CHELS.

    Any feedback would be fantastic.

I think your changes sound sensible. Really don't like Yaya (expensive - last season stats are unsustainable) or Coutinho (crap at shooting and rotation risk) this season.

    Well, here is me

    Krul Foster
    Terry Clyne Chester Wisdom Hutton
    Mata Sterling Eriksen Siggy Ramsey
    Costa Rooney Naismith

    1FT 0.4 in ze bank

    1) Mata on very thin ice. Swap for Fabregas (no chelsea mid)????

    2) Keep Mata and Rooney. Swap Eriksen (needs to go) for Tadic?????

    3) Take a hit and get rid of Eriksen and Rooney for Aguero and AN Other

Agree, all decent decisions. Although maybe hasty to get rid of Rooney with three great fixtures coming up.
