Mondogoal Picks – Gameweek 4

Having navigated through another international hiatus, we return to domestic action and begin pondering our Fantasy line-ups. Mondogoal’s daily and weekend contests await, giving us another opportunity to find profit.

Mondogoal is a brand new daily and weekly Fantasy Football game which, in addition to the Premier League, covers all the major top-flight leagues – Serie A, La Liga, Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and Major League Soccer (MLS). You can play games for each one, or even global contests that span across all the leagues. Mondogoal’s contests for the Champions League and the Europa League also start next week.

Check out our strategy guide for some tips on getting started and read on for our selection guide for the weekend contests.

Saturday’s Picks
With eight encounters on the agenda, Saturday boasts a raft of Mondogoal talent. Arsenal’s clash with champions City is undoubtedly the headline act but perhaps a fixture best avoided when it comes to selecting teamsheet talent. Aaron Ramsey’s (16.3m) fitness is a concern, while City could also be without Stevan Jovetic, leaving us looking to both David Silva (11.9m) and Sergio Aguero (9.7m) when backing Manuel Pellegrini’s side. Not surprisingly, Danny Welbeck is the value option on show for the Gunners – he’s available for just 7.4m going into Saturday’s game and, at that price, is worthy of consideration if you’re backing goals for the hosts.

Chelsea’s meeting with Swansea at the Bridge is another hard-to-call contest, and with Diego Costa (12.3m) an early injury doubt again, it might be time to look to Andre Schurrle (9.7m) as a midfield prospect. We’re tipping the German for a start and to provide a major goal threat to the Swans’ rearguard. Ramires, at just 6.1 this week, also looks a bargain after netting in the Goodison win.

Ronald Koeman’s Southampton will be buoyant after the 3-1 triumph at West Ham last time out and will face a Newcastle side who leaked three at home against Palace. That spells returns for the likes of Dusan Tadic (7.1m) and Graziano Pelle (5.6m) – the latter, in particular, looks a sure-fire bargain for our front lines after opening his account at the Boleyn Ground. I also like Ryan Bertrand at 6.0m, as a defensive pick from this one.

Stoke are another side who will go into the weekend brimming with confidence – their unlikely win at the Etihad will set them up nicely for the arrival of Leicester to the Britannia and I see Mame Biram Diouf (10.4m) providing a decent differential up front following his incredible solo effort against City. There are worse picks than Victor Moses (5.9m) as a midfield enabler, while the Potters will also be backed for a clean sheet against Nigel Pearson’s men: Phil Bardsley, at just 5.4 in Mondogoal, has to be a temptation for our backlines, although for 7.1m you can acquire Ryan Shawcross and his 8.79 Mondogoal points per game (PPG) record.

Elsewhere on Saturday, there’s some mid-price value to be had from Sunderland’s encounter with Spurs at the Stadium of Light. The hosts’ Seb Larsson (7.5m) and Nacer Chadli (7.7m) for the visitors present decent options – the latter boasts an impressive 12.49 Mondogoal PPG record thus far. We also fancy Aiden McGeady (6.8m) to continue his run of form with another start for Everton at West Brom.

Sunday’s Picks
There’s an obvious clamour for Man United’s assets ahead of their Old Trafford clash with QPR. Radamel Falcao, at just 8.8m, is a huge draw who will surely tempt plenty of Mondogoal investment for weekend and Sunday contests. Marcos Rojo is a far less explosive target but he’s set to make his United debut and, at just 7.3m, offers a cheap route into a defence which will be backed to earn a shut-out against Harry Redknapp’s men.

Monday’s Picks
In contrast, few Mondogoal managers will gravitate to the assets on show in Monday night’s floodlit clash between Hull and West Ham. Having said that, new Uruguayan marksman, Abel Hernandez, is available to us for just 4.3m but, according to Steve Bruce, is likely to miss out on his debut due to work permit delays. Nikica Jelavic, at 6.3m, also offers some value here having notched a pair of goals already this season, while Curtis Davies at 5.9m looks an option for those backing the Tigers for a shut-out.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Mourinho says Diego Costa likely fit after a week of "working hard". "He has a chance to play tomorrow."

He will play. He's just trying to psyche out Monk.

He scored 2 goals at Everton when he was injured and unlikely to play so a 'chance' sounds very promising to me.
