The ScoutCast – Episode 136 – Bangin

Fond of sand dunes and salty air, Granville returns from “avin’ it large” in Ibiza, to join me once again in the ScoutCast studio.

The ageing hedonist and I rinse through the regulars – giving our views on the week’s transfer bandwagons, whilst previewing the weekend and giving a shout-out to those managers blazing trails atop the various Fantasy Football Scout leagues.

Inevitably, we also moan about our Gameweek mishaps, discuss the latest development in the United revolution and surf the waves being generated by the Fantasy Premier League price tweaks.

Drop the beats via this link or “roll another fat one” via the handy player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

He is saying its good that he dosent have to rush to do transfers because money not so important.
However he already has 1m less than many of us, and thats afer only four weeks. Thats significant

    Play:
A forster or mccarthy? (Might start with qpr)
B bench one from naylor naylor, clyne, pieters...
    C sell balo or save?

    Forster (Mccarthy)
    Naylor PIETERS moreno (clyne moore)
    aDM fabs sterling siggy (boyd)
    BALO costa pelle
    1FT, 1.2.

Save - give him one more week

If mcarthy doesnt start the forster comes in... Which means doubling up on saints defence against swa... Do I really want to go there?

Have 5 players from that game and 3 pool players, major risk there..

hmm - maybe you want to spread the risk then

if so, benching Clyne and doing Balo ---> Rooney is logical 🙂

            Seems wrong benchng clyne tho...

No real balo replacement ither, cant afford kun... Roo would be ok but prefer to see how united introduce falcao...

ha you don't want to bench Naylor or Clyne 😀

if you aren't sure about who to replace him with, wait a week and reassess...

What's the thinking on Boyd, did he play because Matt Taylor was out? How nailed on is he vs other 4.5 like Marney and Jones?

No way Burnley would pay 3m for him to be behind someone as bad as Taylor

Missed the Debuchy price drop due to WC indecision.

Who's the WC keeper of choice? I'm on Forster currently. Good run of fixtures coming up.

    Also; Pieters or Chambers?

Just started pondering Mirallas and then realized this quandary. Why pay more for Mirallas when Baines is on penos and has CS potential?

Grrr. Throwing a spanner in the works, the mop top.

Not exactly getting pens so far though. The one today shouldn't have been a pen. Mirallas taking some set pieces too. Even Lukaku took a FK today... Clean sheets would be a bonus if they started keeping them!

I definitely am tempted to get baines in on a WC though, can't deny. Other mids I like having over Mirallas for sure.

And he's cheaper I keeping forgetting that. Baines sounds so good the more I think about it. Prob a few more weeks before ill get him though

This is the issue I had with him from the get. He must just be too nice. Letting the likes of Lukaku and Mirallas take FKs off him FFS. Ridiculous.

Still on the fence. If Costa fires this weekend this point is rendered moot for me anyway.

Ya scary that it was actually a good FK too. Now Lukaku will probably get a chance more often. Seems like he's attacking more than ever though! Both him and Coleman.

Have four defenders in two games this week, thinking I'll play them like this...
    PVA, Duff, Naylor (Clyne, Dummett)

    Look good?
And I think Granville may have convinced me to go Adebayor (c), Rooney (vc)

    1. rickardinho
      • 9 Years
      9 years, 9 months ago

I'm on the fence on Clyne vs naylor, as I also have Siggy and Tadic. Probably gonna go Siggy-Clyne to hedge my bets.

    2. Walsh

I still would rather have Clyne over Naylor. Neither will keep clean and I think Clyne has a better shout at an attacking return than Naylor. If you are holding out hope for a cleanie in that game though, then I guess starting Naylor would make more sense. Everything else looks fine, bru 🙂

Cheers Brus, yeah I think I am hoping unreasonably for a cleanie with Siggy and Naylor, but think you are right. Probably won't be a cleanie and Clyne more likely to get attacking returns....

How's this for my WC team please? Cheap defence but they rotate decent. Only concern I have is what if one of my 4.0 defender is out it may be difficult to replace?

    Krul Elliot
    PVA Taylor Duff Moore Hutton
    Fab Ramsey Sterling Siggy (Boyd)
    Aguero Rooney Costa

    1. rickardinho

Looks strong, really good up front.

You could find yourself in a pickle if your cheap 4.0 Defs lose form though which can happen with promoted teams. A lot of risk back there

Bit too top heavy for me but looks good

Great whilst cheap defs are performing but have a plan to upgrade def in next couple of weeks, not convinced Burnley will continue to keep clean sheets and fixtures mean you will probably bench Hutton 5 weeks out of the next 6

Know Krelliot is popular but don't see appeal of New def personally

      1. ChampionoftheWorld
        • 9 Years

Newcastle defence is crap now but I think amongst the 4.5 keeper he will still be best value.

Already have PVA so won't be going for a Sunderland keeper.

He's unlikely to score more than 6-9 points man. I have him too, but Villa are the kind of pesky team Rambo flukes in a goal against time and time again.

Think he does well FPL wise against teams that just sit back and remain compact. Think this week especially, Sterling/Aguero/Costa etc need to have a good game to score 6-9 points, but I can easily see Ramsey doing absolutely nothing all game and still end up with a similar tally. Rooney is the only other player I'm considering captaining.

Couldn't resist the urge to tamper and took a -8 hit this week, dropping Silva for Mirallas to free up cash for Costa (dropping Bojan). Here's the logic: with Costa ownership at 51%, you'll get crushed if he continues to produce and he's not on your squad, Please tell me I'm not being foolish.

Dier, Cyle, Janmaat, PVA, Ntaylor, Krul

What change can I do? In order, please...

    Current team:
    Krul / Elliot
    Debuchy / Lovren / Caulker / Chester / Wisdom
    Hazard / Ramsey / Sterling / Siggy / Mutch
    Costa / Rooney / Naismith
    1.6 itb

    My WC team:
    Forster / McCarthy
    Lovren / Bertrand / Pieters / Duff / Wisdom
Hazard (or Fab?) / Ramsey / Sterling / Siggy / Boyd
    Costa / Rooney / Pelle
    0.4 itb

I'm just fed up with Krul and want to fix my back line in general. Also Mutch keeps dropping and that doesn't help. Also buying into the Pelle hype. Might be too knee jerky though. Krul's gw this week is ok.

Struggling with who to choose for my Defence, I've got:

Cahil Clyne Colo / Ward Moore at the moment, want to get rid off colo since Newcastle couldn't keep clean sheet so far. I've got 1FT and 1.4 itb

Who do you think should I pick? Ntaylor or Bertrand, but then again if i go with bertrand I'll have two Soton defenders, but Taylor's Fixtures are tempting after facing soton, any suggestions guys, probably better option than those two?
