The Weekend Team News

Seamus Coleman is expected to shrug off a knock as Everton entertain Palace. Ron Vlaar remains doubtful as Villa prepare for the visit of Arsenal. Danny Ings is ruled out of Burnley’s home clash with Sunderland, Jon Walters and Marko Arnautovic are doubts as Stoke travel to QPR, while Martin Skrtel is back as Liverpool roll up to West Ham.

Seamus Coleman was forced off with a knock in Everton’s win over Wolfsburg last night but Roberto Martinez is confident the right-back will recover in time for Sunday’s visit of Palace.

Callum Chambers has recovered from the illness that forced him out of the XI to face Dortmund, Arsene Wenger has confirmed. Mathieu Flamini is also available, whilst Jack Wilshere “is okay” after picking up an ankle problem during the 2-0 defeat. The Gunners boss has also revealed Mathieu Debuchy will be out for a minimum of six weeks with an ankle injury, though could be sidelined for three months if he requires surgery.

Jon Walters (calf) and Marko Arnautovic (foot) are both concerns for Stoke’s trip to QPR, Mark Hughes has confirmed. The former has only just returned to training after picking up a knock, though Stephen Ireland is pushing for a recall after recovering from a rib problem.

Harry Redknapp has revealed QPR have “a few knocks” ahead of the home clash against Stoke. Joey Barton (hamstring) and Jordon Mutch (knock) will continue to be assessed, though Adel Taarabt is ruled out with an ankle injury.

Ronald Koeman has revealed new signing Sadio Mane has finally received a work permit and will arrive in Southampton tomorrow, though is unlikely to be ready in time to face QPR. Shane Long has recovered from the knock that forced him off against Newcastle last weekend.

Danny Ings has been ruled out of Burnley’s home clash with sunderland this weekend, with manager Sean Dyche refusing to put a timescale on his return. Matty Taylor is unavailable for the second successive Gameweeks and joins long-term absentee Sam Vokes on the sidelines.

Villa skipper Ron Vlaar remains a major doubt for the visit of Arsenal due to a calf complaint. Christian Benteke has returned to light training but is believed to be weeks away from a return to first-team action as Paul Lambert looks to protect his star striker. Joe Cole is also back in training, though is “a little bit behind on fitness levels”, according to his manager.

Kasper Schmeichel is expected to recover from the minor knee problem that saw him miss last weekend’s trip to Stoke, while Matty James is also in contention after recovering from injury to feature for the Under-21s on Monday.

Martin Skrtel is back for Liverpool’s trip to West Ham, though Joe Allen is out “for a few weeks”, according to Brendan Rodgers. The Reds boss expects Daniel Sturridge to return to training next week, though young Jon Flanagan is set for an extended spell on the sidelines after undergoing knee surgery.

Sam Allardyce has confirmed he has the same squad that travelled to Hull on Monday, an indication that Joey O’Brien will miss out again as the Hammers play host to Liverpool.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official twitter stream as breaking news unfolds.

Of course playing for punts is good. But you should still have monsters like Costa, and play punts around him

Wouldn't class Hazard as a punt. Been a top scoring Mid for the past 2 seasons. Fabregas and Costa would have been the punts at the start of the season.

    I only capt'd him once last year 1 pen 1 CS= 30pts

I'd do it again but hard too ignore Adebayor. I'm saying I'd do it, but be nervous.

I'm half tempted with a huge punt to captain him (could do with the differential!). Other options are currently Costa, Falc, Ballo, Siggy, Sterling or Di Maria.

Or Adebayor if I bring him in for a 4pt hit!?!

I don't get the craze to get Chambers back. 2 yellows in less than 3 full games. Ars didn't keep his 1 CS. Not great fix's.

Having said that in non FPL considerations got to love his game and upside, and admire a def who can play CB or OB. IMO GL

why not Wilson, van A, or even Robertson? love replying to my reply.

        1. Mull

Wilson: Decent option but Stoke's clean sheet record has not been great recently plus a lot of people own Begovic

PVA: Bad defence but if they can tighten up he'll be a good pick

          Robertson: Bad fixtures coming up

        2. HamezMace
          • 9 Years

I have PVA, I like Robertson, but I think it's always good strategy to get players in from the top 4 teams when possible as they tend to keep more clean sheets overall than the likes of Hull, Sunderland, and Stoke.

Decent fixture this week and from GW8 onwards. Probably play him against Spurs as well.

It's a done deal then, now the question is who does he replace?

          Clyne
          PVA
          Caulker
          Moreno

Also have Moore but obviously can't afford to straight swap.

          Probably Caulker
