We delve into the Gameweek 5 data this evening in our first members article of the week. Wayne Rooney’s new role for United comes under analysis, as do Burnley and Leicester’s displays up front, whilst a couple of north London-based frontmen are also placed under the microscope after their contrasting weekend performances.
go for it
would just do the last two transfers if poss. north london derby tends to be frenetic and ade could easily match pelle
Already done the 1st one 🙁 . and budget for 2nd allows only if I do 1st & the 3rd together
maybe WC then and get aguero in for rooney too. rooney looks to be staying in midfield
Can't seem to find budget for that one as of now. Maybe Ivanovic out in a couple of weeks and then Rooney-> Aguero
I think Van Gaal may need to re-think playing with 3 strikers and put one extra man in the midfield after the beating they took at Leicester. Playing with three strikers obviously hasn't paid off for United. Rooney and ADM are the only guaranteed starters in my opinion.
I would do Ade to Pelle for free
But that would mean keeping Lamela & not getting AdM (who is the Yaya of this year btw 😉 )
Still not convinced by him (wasn't convinced about Yaya either!) , and there's always a chance of a high scoring NLD
Welbz to Aguero for free?
Of course no 😛
Yeap got a feeling city will be revived and smash dem goals in the next couple of weeks
Not right now, because of CL. Thats priority to City, on gw 8 maybe
Worried by the Roma game, I'd hold fire
no.
Please help RMT
Begovic (Krul)
Cahill. Chambers. Ward (Chester. PVA)
Sigurdsson. Ramsey. Hazard. Sterling (Marney)
Rooney. Costa. Ulloa
0.4 ITB. 1 FT
1. Should I do Rooney to Pelle/Welbeck and spruce up my defence? Or is a Man U attacker essential?
2. Use the 0.4 to do Ward to Bertrand?Rooney to Pelle
This year will be so funny in PL. As i predicted big arsenal win last gw, this gw will be Soton - QPR 1-1 or 2-2 🙂
I have Clyne 🙂Better not be!
as long as Pelle scores all of them assisted by Clyne 😛
this ! and Clyne will score this gw 🙂
RMWCT:
Forster, Heaton
Clyne, Chambers, Naylor, PVA, Moore
ADM, Fabregas, Sterling, Siggy, Boyd
Costa, Pelle, Aguero
Thanks!Walcott plan?
Don't have a precise one just yet. Really depends on when he is ready to start games. I fear that won't be as early as GW8...?
He'll be back in training that week, so most likely ready by 9 or 10.
"Wenger expects Walcott back in full training after next international break (GW8)"
and btw, weren't you WCing a while later 😉 ?
Excellent!
tripple soton and no rooney ?
like your team anyway 🙂We're solid at the back and have decent fixtures. Pelle will probably eventually become Welbeck.
Rooney - did you see the guy vs Leicester? Made poor runs, made dull passes, sat very deep and was frankly lucky to get an assist. His pass to Di Maria was not the right weight but AdM plucked out a fantastic finish to rectify the issue.Yea you have right, but dont like to tripple teams if they are not big 5
Rooney is unpredictable, and hes a captain...i can see 10+ points against west hamWell we're 2nd in the league as it stands so I'd rather have triple us over triple United, based on current form. Of course we won't stay there but it's silly to write off our players based on our club's reputation etc.
Tottally agree with you, form is brilliant and i really like soton !
Only two clubs that i hate are utd and liverpool (two clubs with most titles) 🙂
ADM is enough for United right now, IMO
yup, but adm and rooney looks like awesome duo
IF Rooney looked sharp and wasn't playing as a midfielder.
But there are a lot of other striker options who could continue to match Rooney, while i don't see many Mids offering ADM levels of confidence.
ADM is great value and a no brainer, Rooney is premium and good, but there are plenty of other options to make him less of an easy pick.
I agree, though. Rooney is still a very good option
Pelle > Welbeck in GW8 I take it?
Any plans to bring in Baines?Yes on the Welbeck move.
Not got a plan for the Baines move. I'm assessing that one. Everton look very leaky at the moment and part of Baines' appeal for me is the combination of attacking returns and CS likelihood.Blimey. What makes up the other part of his appeal, his magnificent mop top?
It certainly helps.
10/10. If had to WC right now I would select the exact same team (already have 9 of those right now).
Arsenal plan in GW8?
Pelle to Welbeck is the first bit... Working on the next bit.
Perfect. Might follow suit 😛
Eventually want Walcott too. 😉
That keepr combo - rotating or playing Forster first?
Forster first... probably 😉
Looks good, I went for Welbeck instead of Aguero and spent more on defence but if City find their feet you'll have a much better captaincy candidate than me.
I have the same midfield as you.
So I wouldn't be confident...Great team Lucy, Leicester aren't the best defensively but have some great fixtures coming up
I'm doing it for the fixtures PLUS the fact we haven't seen much of Leicester against average PL teams. I have faith that they'll be more solid.
Hopefully, even when they kept a clean sheet against Stoke, their stats weren't the best either
http://members.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/matches/755340/
But I agree, too small a sample size to base any judgements on (Moore owner here)Alternatively I could go for Duff and double up on Burnley... But I think Moore is the safer option.
Duff over Moore?
Then there'll be a string of games where I have to play Duff AND Heaton. Do you think that's ok?
Personally I do. I don't mind doubling on Defender+Keeper. Last year Speroni+Ward worked like a charm and this year looking at Forster+Clyne AND Heaton+Duff when I WC
Ok cheers!
Yes!! My one question: how much itb and can you squeeze in Baines or Ivanovic?
0.0ITB.
Don't want either.That's 0 with Duff, 0.1 with Moore.
mostly my team, and im not on a WC...excellent! 😀
PVA seems like a short term pick
@doos what doing with kev mirallas? i shipped for adm, not that i think adm is a great fpl prospect long term but his fixtures, ownership and rises swayed me
lol
Why isn't he a great FPL prospect ?
Hey guys, hoping it's a bit quiet this morning and someone can give me some insight.
My team is:
Begovic, Krul
Clyne, Caulker, Taylor, Chambers, Ward
Mata, Hazard, Ramsey, Sigurdsson, Mutch
Rooney, Costa, Bojan
I have 2 free transfers and .2 in the bank. I want to get rid of Bojan for Ulloa but I can't afford a direct swap. I'd need to get rid of Mata to make it work, leaving me with 8.4 to spend on a midfielder. Any suggestions?Ward to Duff or Mutch to Boyd
+1, or downgrade Caulker
You don't think getting rid of Mata is a priority?
You said you want to do Bojan to Ulloa, here's how you do it ...
Look to downgrade Ward and Mutch to find your moves.
mata,bojan caulker ----> Mirallas Pelle Duff (-4)
Getting rid of Mata should be your priority
That's what I'm thinking. Who would you recommend as a replacement?
Sterling but Mata will do better than Bojan
Mata, Rooney, Bojan to ADM, Pelle, Ulloa + £1.3m (-4)
They're some bold moves. You think Rooney is done too?
Rooney will always pick up a few points but he won't be taking as many free kicks as he used to with ADM on the pitch, his stats are worrying for a player of his price.
I would be worried about having so little invested up top but Pelle & Ulloa look like amazing value for money and actually have the stats to back up their current points scoring.
The biggest problem if you went for both of them is how to transfer Aguero in if he starts scoring 3 a game.
Mutch > Boyd
Bojan > Ulloa
Mata > Fabregas
(-4)Tadic mate, great fixtures
Any advice on my Krul problem
A. Krul -> Mannone
B. Krul/Shaw -> Forster/Bertrand
C. Save FT.
My team is in good shape otherwise.C - save. Keepers end up with similar points over th course of the season.
There was only around 20 points between top and bottom keepers last year.Wise words from Think Tank although I couldn't resist Soton's fixtures and went with Krul -> Forster
Who is more important to have ADM or Fabregas?
I would say ADM, esp if you have Costa
They'll get the same points whether he has Costa or not though.
Fab
Fabregas
Fab
ADM imo.
I see him as the top mid in the gameFab but after sometime everyone's team will have both
cesc fr sure. He plays for Chelsea.
both
Fab!
Guys got a question, I'm happy with my team just want your guys opinion on who to bench this round. So far I've come up with this
Krul (Begovic)
Ivano, Shaw, Shawcross, Clyne, (Neil Taylor)
Schneiderlin, Siggy, Fabregas, Sterling, Di Maria (VC)
Diego Costa (C), (Ulloa), (Welbeck)
Thanks ladsI'd play Welbeck v Spurs over Schneiderlin
Just a question, why do you guys reckon bench Schneiderlin? He's doing alright this year and I thought he'd get an assist or 2 against QPR's defence?
Shaw - Welbeck. Arsenal vs Tottenham is full of goals
Bench Krul, Shaw, Taylor & Schneiderlin imo
Thanks for reply. I understand others but why Schneiderlin? Btw I only put Krul in as I didn't want to double up with Shawcross and Begovic and thought Krul would cover me for both teams.
How essential is Aguero? I can understand Costa but when comparing the stats for Aguero and Pelle for example, Pelles movement, touches and shots in the box are better. Aguero has PL pedigree Pelle does not. Aguero has a brilliant midfield supporting him but Southhampton have the making of one. Will Aguero be the differential?
This brilliant Southampton midfield. Who is it?
His game time is what's in question.
Well I guess one could argue that the games Aguero has played more than half an hour he has faced tougher defences than Pelle, with first a resilient Stoke team that shut out City and then Arsenal away and Chelsea at home (with City having 10 men). Also one could argue that Aguero still was a little out of form those earlier matches while recovering from that hamstring injury. I think both will be good options though and both are in my team atm.
Thanks for the reply.
Would also like to have both with Costa but just think that Wellbeck is great value.
People getting a little carried away by Southampton me thinks. Understandable, but not sure they worth tripling up on
still better than moreno and evans lol
Moreno hasnt been given a chance yet, people kneejerking him out far too quickly.
There only eoom for one genius on this forum, and your not it 😀lol.
you really think liverpool will be solid though? they look as crap as last year. i would be correcting that asap
Agreed.
Bertrand or Clyne, plus maybe Pelle or Forster IMO.
Give them until after the Spurs game before piling in for a thirdI see no problem with it.
I have Pelle-Tadic-Clyne, but will look to upgrade Tadic to Walcott after Tadic's good fixtures when Walcott is back. Going forwards Clyne-Pelle is much more balanced but short term 3 of them is fine due to the fixtures and southamptons form
Morning all:
1) PVA or Wilson?
2) Duff, Moore or Wisdom
Ta!PVA
Duff
*logs off
😯
triggerlips?
Good , got rid of another one.
Just looked at your history FG
Shocked to see you have only finished in top 100k once.
You really need to change your name😯
NOOOOOOOO!!!!!
Who am I..last weeks stats for his debut, any guesses ?
100% aerial duels won
91% pass accuracy
4 tackles won
4 clearances
1 key pass
and am I here to stay ?Joleon?
no..not him..
Mangala?
Aye...Is he here to stay ?
Hope so - would be my ideal route into City backline with those fixtures incoming.
Gardos
Mangela
He will always have demechalis rotating for the easy games
7 Shades how are you holding up in UFPL? Red after red for me.
Pepin, your thoughts on Rooney
Funny, I posted on your blog about him!
pepin keep luke shaw and take a gamble tht he might play or just go ahead and take him out ? need ur thoughts
Nobody picking Tadic ? He can explode in next games
he should have and can but hasnt 😀
Rooney, Adebayor + Mata -> Costa, ADM + Welbz for - 8?
Don't want to take a hit that big but people prices are dwindling fast so feel I need to take action before it's too late....Pelle instead of Welbeck for now and get Costa at all costs
Have got Pelle already - as you say need to get Costa. Done the hit - thanks
TV 103 😉
- New post
New crowd.
What are your hp guys opinions on doing DDG to Forster for a hit? Could easily pay of and means I don't have to waste a transfer in the future doing it.Whats everyone's tactics regarding defence so far?
I've been looking at changing my defenders as I have not gotten many CS this season so far.
I took a look at the CS of the teams so far, teams with the most CS are as follows:
Aston Villa: 3
Burnely: 3
Saints: 3
Manchester: 2
Tottenham: 2
Swansea: 2
Westbrom: 2
With saints having favourable fixtures up until GW 13 when they match up against City home they might be the safest bet of getting CS. They offer great value with Clyne (at 5.3) already accumulating 33 points so far topping the defenders board. And the former Chelsea defender Bertrand (5.1) at fourth place with 25 points. I would not recommend getting a Burnely defender, maybe as a rotational, since they have not impressed so far, Same with Manchester and Westbrom.
Thoughts?1 expensive, 1 middle, 3 cheap. My purchase of Duff and Hutton paid off well. Disagree about Burnley, they are a defensive minded team and will keep more CS especially at home. I will hang onto Duff.
Duff is an absolute gem!
Guys..
A) zaha -->> schneiderlain
Or
B) Naismith -->> Ulloa
Thanks a lot..B
neither of A for me
Need some help guys. My team, particularly the defence is woeful, partly due to injuries but also as I haven't been able to get rid of certain players as other transfers were more of a priority.
So my current squad is as follows
DDG (Begovic)
Lovren PVA Vlaar (Debuchy) (B. Davies)
Siggy Mata Ramsay Tadic (Cork)
Rooney Costa Welbeck
I know that I need to sort my defence out but only have 1 FT and 0 ITB. Most suggestions seem to be not to take a hit on defensive changes but I need at least 2 new players as Debuchy is out long term and Davies has been an epic fail! Would dearly love to bring ADM in for Mata but it's less of a priority. So the options are:-
A. Debuchy & Davies - >> Duff & Bertrand/Clyne (-4)
B. Lovren & Debuchy & Mata ->> Duff & Bertrand & ADM (-8)
C. Play wildcard.
I desperately want to avoid C if I can but also have worries over Rooney and my keepers.
Any and all suggestions appreciated.I'd go A and get ADM next week though his price might go up.
Not an option really as the price difference from Lovren to Duff gives me the cash I need for Mata to ADM. A price rise shouldn't affect that but need to sell Lovren now if I want ADM. Or take another -4 next week but then his price will probably be higher so I might still struggle to get him in.
time to bring in ageuro??
Still waiting on that one. City do have a ridiculous run of fixtures now....
is duff nailed on?
He's played 90 mins in all 5 games....so I would say as good as nailed!
Ramsey and Lamela to Di Maria and Boyd
-4
Happy with thatSo defence currently is Clyne, Lovren, Pieters (Moore, Wisdom). All have home games this weekend but I have 1.7m ITB and 2FT, madness to swap someone for the likes of Cahill?
do u lads reckon shaw will start next game ?
would it be outrageous to play moore (palace) over naismith (pool) and play 4-4-2?

9 years, 8 months agoDifferent crowd so reposting for opinions:
Is this -8 justified? : Ade,Lamela,Caulker -> Pelle,AdM,Duff
but this means that I'll have to keep Rooney this week and can't get in Aguero
Been slipping in my leagues quickly and can't afford to carry any dead weights so it's either -8 or WC
