Don’t get us wrong – we’re not labelling this latest droning session as “essential” listening. However, there’s no getting away from the fact that the concept of essential players has dominated the airwaves at Scout towers over the past week.

In this latest episode, Granville and I take on this meaty subject, whilst chewing over the importance of ownership and spit out the semblance of an opinion on both. Around that main course, we take on the usual bevvy of regulars with the usual haphazard panache.

                Even with the doubts? I kind agree but just not sure he'll play. Suppose it's not the end of the world with Boyd on the bench but still.... i think Mane could do some damage

                  Yeah for this week Mane looks the better shout, probably getting Chadli myself next week though. (For either ADM or Fabs) He looks like the real deal this year, huge goal threat.

          Okay. It's a good team. Personally wouldn't like to double up on Soton defence, but I could be way out on that opinion. Otherwise, impressive you've got a strong team with Aguero squeezed in.

            Thanks, I felt like I needed to compensate taking Pelle out with a double Soton at the back. Thinking I'll swap them out for Chambers & a Chelsea def for GW13. Long term plan, let's see if it works out!

          Interesting point, I have Costa but don't like to captain him as so many have him, I like to try and find a captain differential, so by that logic I should really just get rid of him altogether.

    I'm getting quite fed up with the women's football on the BBC website. I find myself clicking on things thinking I'm going to see something about men's football, but then it ends up being women's football. I'm delighted that they're improving and gaining popularity, but I think they need a separate section on the Beeb. Wouldn't be so bad if the ladies' teams weren't at the same clubs (thus, same names) as the gents' teams.

    Chambers is short-term for now anyway, I would also like to balance the team better(get a really cheap mid) but finding a hard time setting it up, especially since every single player in my front 8 has risen, and must of them a lot since I bought them.

        Certainly is! Far too strong up top, it's between Ulloa, Pelle and Sig, Ulloa usually beeing the victim, pondering removing Ulloa, one of the expensive mids and upgrading defender, but if picking the team is hard picking a midfielder to drop is a nightmare!

    Sorry for the repost if you saw this earlier. I played my wildcard just after the last round of games.

    Selected a quick draft team, hit "confirm transfers", thinking I could change things later.

    But when I try to transfer now, it seems to be costing me -4pts. Am I doing something wrong?! I thought a WC was unlimited transfers?

      Na, I'd keep Wilson, he is good to have if you can rotate him (that said, Stoke's defensive returns have been disappointing)

      Just get Chambers this week as it means using 2 trades to get him if that's the eventual plan. Never know what this weekend brings where 2 free trades come in handy without having to use one to move Bellerin on

    How have Arsenal done with Monreal in central defence? Was planning to bring in Gibbs but unsure now

      I'm wary of Arsenal's defence, it isn't like it was last season. Arsenal haven't kept a clean sheet in the PL this season when Monreal has featured. I'd say wait until Kosc + Chambers are back and see then.
