With West Brom and Man United set to see out the Gameweek tomorrow, we delve into the data from the nine matches played so far. Unsurprisingly, Man City, Southampton and West Ham’s in-form front men are on this evening’s agenda, whilst we also cast an eye over a couple of improving north London-based midfielders.
Problem is Aguero's price is getting a bit out of control...but with so much money tied up in Costa, I guess it's prudent to wait.
Wait and see whether Aguero makes it through the game in Moscow first.
What Parm says.
His fitness seems to be better this year.
Arena Khimki pitch was a nightmare for city last time they had CSKA Moscow. They had to spray paint the pitch to make it green
Pellegrini has managed him well compared to last season, hopefully meaning Dzeko starts in Russia or Aguero comes off early.
or sit back and relax, smug with the knowledge you already only both 😉
I suspect we will be none the wiser.
100% chance Costa watches that mid-week game from his couch at home.
75% chance he's *fit* for United.
Note: If he's not there for the Manchester game, then I think we can officially *panic*...
Oh boy. Just saw that City plays in the early kick off again next week.
Yep and we will go at them, could be 3 down in 20 minutes, Aguero could have a field day
He'll blank next week I'm thinking.
We can keep telling ourselves that but there's only so much Tylenol one can buy without prescription.
😀
Just saw that you have him & captained him. I hate you 100 times over.
Total fluke. Had to get rid of Sturridge Friday night. Got aguero and tadic in for a hit. Bonkers
Wowzers. That's a story you will live to tell when someone inevitably asks in the seasons to come 'what's your favorite FPL memory'
The 61 point transferI won't even start on the wc I decided against. Coleman Baines and Pelle ffs. 😀
good recent history v the oppo too
2 away meetings last season, 3 goals, 2 assists.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24503985
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25723655Don't really read too much into fixture / player history
Its key IMO. Brought Lampard in as a short term punt vs Villa when he was two short of breaking Bobby Ramblings record. He had scored more goals vs Villa than any other club. He scored 2. Players have teams and grounds the like to play against and on.
Do you really believe that? Teams change over time, etc.
I honestly do.
It is true. When I was at primary school I used love playing Broad Oak utd. They didn't know what offside was and we'd always batter them.
I'm surprised at the amount of proposed transfers on here that aren't shipping Costa.
The fear is what can happen without him ... we've had the scare-mongering from Mourinho before and not only did he start he went full r3tard. Losing him is a big fear.
However ... the same fear now exists with Aguero so it's a calculated risk!yes true, I suppose what i mean is that to own Costa and to be making other transfers without news seems madness
Pmsl.. Tropic thunder quote classic
What are people thinking about Eriksen? Good fixtures and good scoring form.
I'd like to get him in this week along with Baines but may have to settle for Jagielka instead.
spuds always burn people..at your risk don.
Anybody taking a chance with Alcaraz? Really considering him for Azpi
Essential players, time to use my wc
Already have Baines and AgueroClyne
Lloris
Tadic
Pelle
FabregasForster
Clyne/Bertrand/Alderwierald
ADM
Pelle
CostaI wouldn't have ADM if i was WC this week
Don't know if they're really essential but wouldn't leave them out of my WC if I were you:
Baines
Bertrand
Siggy
Tadic
Fabregas
Aguero
Pelle or Welbeck (both if you decide to go without Costa)
Moreno >
A) Rose or Chambers
B) Coleman (have Baines)
C) Someone elseChambers
Who to get rid of as feel need baines
Morano to Baines
And
Drop
Fab-eriksen
Or
Sterling- Chadli,Barkley etcmaybe costa you should wait for news
Third time lucky.
Foster - Mannone
Clyne - Chambers - Naylor - Hutton - Moore
ADM - Fab - Sterling - Siggy - Boyd
Costa - Aguero - Pelle
2 FTs, nothing itb
Was thinking of doing Naylor -> Jagielka and Sterling -> Eriksen
Already have Pelle so I don't think getting in Tadic as well is wise.
Good moves?I wouldn't drop Sterling tbh
Wait for tomorrow's game and assess ADM.Like Sterling > Eriksen, getting rid of Naylor soon might make sense, not so keen on Jagielka though.
Agree about not getting Tadic + Pelle, one is enough.Don't think they are bad moves, but (a) I don't get the Jagielka love and (b) why not get Tadic? The number of players you have from a team should not stop you from getting a very good player if you think he is a going to score.
Four more fixtures until Southampton hit an absolutely horrendous run though so doubling up on their attack now would probably be a relatively short term move.
I just think having 3 Southampton players is overkill and while I agree that Tadic is a very good player I think Eriksen is also capable of delivering the goods consistently. And yeah I'd prefer to get Baines of course but Jagielka offers a cheap way into Everton's defence and is good for regular bonus points.
Agree, Pelle and Tadic keep racking up the points for my team, there should be no issues with doubling up players on form and with good fixtures.
*Bottomed*
Begovic
Ivanovic Clyne Moore
Fabregas Sterling Siggy Downing
Costa Kun Pelle
Hamer PVA Duff Albrighton
2FT, 1.8 itb
Can i have your opinion on some of the options?
A) PVA + Downing => Hutton + Tadic
B) PVA + Downing => Wisdom + Eriksen
C) PVA + Sterling => Tadic + Baines
D) Begovic + Downing => Foster + Eriksen
E) Begovic + PVA => Foster + Hutton
F) PVA => Hutton, save 1 FT
G) otherA
B
e then b
would be ideal indeed, not worth a hit though
shipping siggy instead of downing would solve the problem
I've settled on Sterling > Eriksen.
Both quality players playing in team that look quite poor atm. Sterling has a few more points but also had the easier fixtures. Eriksen has also outscored him over the last five or so weeks and proved yesterday that he is capable of delivering even against the top teams. Plus at under 8% ownership Eriksen is a nice differential and may well remain so for a while as people either prefer Tadic or already have Chadli.
The real benefit is the extra 1m saved though. Enough to replace Costa (if I have to), or upgrade Siggy when he hits rough fixtures, or just upgrade my defense in general. I think that makes it a risk worth taking....How essential is Aguero? I don't think he's worth a hit this week with whu(a) his next game, the only problem is his ridiculous price rise.
Worth a hit most weeks
Will only keep going up after recording another hat-trick next week....
I can just see WH parking the bus like they did last year against Chelsea.
Or him going mad again vs WHU and you missing the points.
Aguero is one of the best strikers in the world and is inform. Putting him in just fills me with confidence 😉
No one is essential I guess but look at his scores. Has only drawn a blank twice.
Frankly from what I have seen he is unplayable most the time. Your buying consistancy and explosive potential all in one. Not much risk in captaining him either. Fantasy gold by all accounts.Depends who you're selling
Falcao (and I'd take to get a hit) I'll have to wait till tomorrow at least and decide based on Falcao's performance. My current idea is to ship Falcao after Chelsea for Agüero and a hit.
I've done this already. Love Falcao but he has horrible fixtures and not the only spearhead in that man u team.
Costa will surely be alright for the Man United game..
think something happened to him on thursday, was no sign of him friday. shame kept that quiet, could have been useful info. oh well
Currently doubtful but it's hard to know http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/oct/18/chelsea-diego-costa-manchester-united
Worth dropping either fab or costa to get baines in?
Baines is on fire. Always nice to own him. Drop Costa. He's such a pain to own. Don't drop Costa if you don't have Aguero though...
"Drop Costa. He's such a pain to own."
How is the leading point getter, with a hatrick under his belt, on the *best* team in the league a pain to own?
You have the attention span of a squirrel.😆
This.

@AA7
"Don't have to be such a cu-nt."
Mate, you give advice like that & you expect us to accept it at face value?
Think before you try & *help*. You just told the guy to sell Costa? :S
Further, listening to managers pressers & accepting what they say at face value could be one of the worst things you can do...
Think about it, why would they reveal anything they didn't have to, to their opposition?
This isn't to say we completely discount everything we hear but, if you checked the Team News on this site (or many others) you would *know* pretty much what to do with Costa this year. You're ridiculously pretentious. You're assuming your advice is better. Also, regarding Costa, even with the team news people still aren't certain whether or not he'll start. Getting rid of him for Aguero isn't that bad of a move. Aguero has really good fixtures ahead of him. I'd rather have Fabregas, Baines and Aguero over Baines, Costa and another midfielder.
@AA7
First, the question was:
"Worth dropping either fab or costa to get baines in?"
You then replied: "Drop Costa. He's such a pain to own."
There was nothing said about Aguero, or then we may have had something to talk about.
As for being pretentious, sure I'll agree & I've been called much worse however, looking back do you think it was best to suggest that he sell Costa?
Finally, "team news people still aren't certain whether or not he'll start". Sure, we all know that but, to put more emphasis on the manager's statement's at the cost of heeding the news gathered here seems short sighted, right?"Don't drop Costa if you don't have Aguero though..."
He has Aguero, thus dropping Costa is more effective in my opinion than dropping Fabregas.
I'd rather have Welbeck and Baines over Costa and 4.0M defender. Costa has given me a headache and Welbeck is more than capable in the next 3 games or so to outscore him.Sure, that's fine.
I'm picking up what you're putting down, now.
Although, you didn't say that originally, you said b/c he's a "pain to own". So, you could understand why I was skeptical?
In the end, I think we can agree that the best thing to do with Costa is just wait & see a little bit right?
Selling him before we *know* what's actually going on seems a bit hasty.I can see why you think keeping Costa is a really good idea. I'm having a hard time myself deciding whether or not I want to do Costa>Aguero using my FT. Being burned by Costa in the past tempts me to do this even more hence my comment "pain to own"
and yeah I usually wait until Friday night to do my transfers.
I was just offended by what you said:
"You have the attention span of a squirrel."
Have you had Costa from the start? If not then probably him, but if you have I wouldnt ship any of them
Ugh lol I didn't mean costa... I meant Sterling
Thanks for the replies though guys! Lol
Dzeko, Terry and Siggy OUT
Aguero, Jagielka, Diame IN
4 point hit, worth it?No. Too odd.
Do you think Chambers is a good option for a defender under 5m? Or are there better options (I have Bertrand)
I do. But so is Craig Dawson.
Best option for me
I'd like to think so, Arsenal desperately need Koscielny back though and some protection in front of the back four, extremely exposed against Hull, Diame tore through the midfield on numerous occasions.
Is Koscielny not wrecked? Read they want Van Dijk from Celtic in Jan.
Theoretically. Arsenal have been poo though
Not when they have 1 CS this season.
Bench one of the following for this week...
a) Taylor (LEI)
b) Wisdom (CRY)
c) Clyne (STO)
Currently on Wisdom.Taylor
Wisdom
Might use my 1FT to do Costa>Aguero even if Costa is fit...
I'm tempted by Sakho-Aguero-Pelle
My front 3 will be Welbeck Aguero Pelle probably
Cahil & Terry - no BAPs, no attacking contribution all season.
Got rid of Cahill for Baines yesterday and it felt goooood 😀
Who'd have thought it. I was tempted with a triple Chelsea def at one point pre season. Dodged a bullet there.
Azpi has more points than either of them despite his sending off!
I get it but... IF there's ever a week where the *most pressing* issue for my roster is addressing the fact that Terry hasn't got any BAP's yet then I'll probably just save my FT for next week.
I don't know if I could ever use a FT just to take out a nailed on Chelsea defender.
All this knee jerking Costa out is gonna end in tears.
Utter madness.Shhhh
Keep telling them Costa to Sakho is a good ideaeven if he was ruled out for man utd surely just bench with the best fixture of the entire season straight after
this and then some
Indeed. One of the most consistant players being dropped because he has missed one match.
I don't care if his manager says his legs have fallen off, if he ends up playing anyway who cares.
It'll be wildcard central to get him back in.
Imagine GW 10 and not owning Costa. *Trembles.
Can't wait for Hazard to go all Tadic on it too
Yeah not got hazard but a big score is just round the corner. He started slowly lastyear too. We all know how that ended up.
I see him far outscoring Fabregas that game, it's tailor made for him. Although Chelsea's last home game against QPR was a disaster.
I will be in that boat. So what. kun plays Utd and QPR next
Assuming all fit and nailed on which would u prefer going forward:
A. Baines and Siggy
or
B. Alcaraz and Ramsey/WalcottBaines and Siggy
Walcott is fantasy gold I'd fit, period. Get him in when up to speed.
That may take 3/4 weeks though so I would assess nearer the time.
Ant Fantasy UCL players round? When is the best time to play the WC?
when there isn't early deadline
will hold one more week and jut take a hit on my double liverpool defence then
*Any, around
By history, usually MD6, when the big sides rest their best players.
Don't think there is one.
*fail*
Misread your question, thought you meant/wrote UFPL.
Last game of the group stage. My team's a bit shit though, might play it tomorrow
mine is aswell. What daniel said makes sense though. Will hold off because of the early Kick off. Taken a 2point hit to get rid of double Liverpool defence
Ah forgot about the early deadline
Pretty cautious about Sakho. Could lose his form easily like Ulloa.
Ulloa was scoring on every shot he took so, it wasn't really sustainable.
Sakho is doing very well but, it's much more *believable*.
May have to move Siggy on soon
i tend to agree
Liking a Barkley punt
not at all
Eriksen for meMartinez is far too eager to rotate his mids
Downing after City?
who will score more Pts:
1.Sterling HUL
2.Tadic STKHow many people have Costa(C) and Aguero(VC)?
so many points still to be added!not many. something like 4% in top 10k
Really, oh amazing. Thanks for that, you have just made my day.
look up fpl discovery. breaks down VC %s
Have a horse lick.
Vougie around?
yup
Dinnery getting called out for the fraud he is: https://twitter.com/BenDinnery/status/523494822041387008
Can't believe he had the cheek to tweet this as if has any inside info. Just reading from Moose's tweet about not costa not being on the coach: https://twitter.com/BenDinnery/status/523457617587212288HaHa. Nothing more than we already knew. He just trawls twitter like anyone else. He has taken the Costa news from a newspaper quote as well and failed to declare the original source
since sakho broke into team:
sakho 5.5mil 40 points
costa 10.5mil 30 points
lollandaise saucedid i see a stat somewhere though where sakho has had 1 shot on target that wasn't a goal? #thrifty
no, someone posted that earlier but it was nonsense according to the above article
Want him in the draft
You think he will as consistant?
People are forgetting Siggy & Chaldi started the season costing 6mil, but are demanding returns rivaling ADM, Faregas every week.
I think this is a good point.
Especially chadli who has the stats to back up his performances unlike siggy.
9 years, 8 months ago
Hopefully Mourinho gives us a better update on Costa in midweek after Maribor. Should know more on his condition
