The Weekend Team News

Jack Wilshere is a big doubt for Arsenal’s home clash with Burnley, who welcome back Dean Marney into midfield. West Ham’s Diafra Sakho is in with a chance of lining up against the Potters. Brendan Rodgers rules out Jose Enrique against Newcastle, who themselves could be without forward Papiss Cisse. Sadio Mane is set to return to training as he bids to prove his fitness ahead of Southampton’s KC clash, while the FA rescind Federico Fernandez’s three-match ban ahead of Swansea’s trip to Everton.

Arsene Wenger is “quite confident” Kieran Gibbs will overcome a hip problem in time for tomorrow’s visit of Burnley. The Gunners boss expects Jack Wilshere to miss out with a “very, very short-term” knee problem, whilst he also went on to confirm Theo Walcott is “not completely ready” and won’t start against the Clarets.

Sam Allardyce has revealed that Diafra Sakho is “touch and go” for the weekend, after injuring his shoulder during the win over Man City. Allardyce confirmed the Hammers will monitor the forward’s condition before Saturday, whilst James Tomkins and Matt Jarvis have recovered from their injuries and will make a return to the squad.

Jose Enrique will miss the reunion against former club Newcastle, with Brendan Rodgers confirming that the defender has an issue with his knee. The Reds boss has also conceded he expects Daniel Sturridge to remain sidelined until after the next international break, before talking up Fabio Borini’s prospects ahead of the Magpies clash and also hinting at a change of tactics for the weekend, after mainly operating with a 4-2-3-1 in Sturridge’s absence.

Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has rated Papiss Cisse “touch and go” as the striker bids to overcome a knee problem in time for the Liverpool clash.

Reports in the local press indicate David Silva will miss the next three weeks with a knee problem sustained against Newcastle in midweek. Manuel Pellegrini is expected to clarify the situation in today’s lunchtime press conference.

Sean Dyche has received a boost ahead of the trip to the Emirates, with news that midfielder Dean Marney is back in contention to face the Gunners after recovering from injury.

Sadio Mane is a doubt to face Hull as he bids to overcome an ankle injury picked up last week. Ronald Koeman has announced that the winger is expected to be part of the travelling squad on Saturday, should he come through training this morning.

Federico Fernandez will be available for Swansea’s trip to Goodison after successfully appealing the red card he received in the midweek cup exit to Liverpool. Elsewhere, midfielders Gylfi Sigurdsson and Ki Sung-Yeung are both back in training ahead of the Toffees test

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream as breaking news unfolds.

just some more opinions on this please?

I really am tempted to go Siggy - Chadli

really makes sense I think. Chadli is due another big game and has a villa side shipping them in with no Hutton and Senderos and then Stoke and Hull.

Swansea have Everton, Arsenal and Man City. Just think this is the time to swtich??

Am I right in assuming Mannone is unlikely to feature this weekend?

    Just taken a -4 hit:

Sterling & Welbeck out, Sanchez & Berahino in. Sanchez rising tonight urged me to do it even though I'm still not completely convinced. However, Sanchez & Berahino are in form whereas Sterling & Welbeck aren't. Now I'm considering whether it would be worth doing a -8 to get some Chelsea attacking cover. I'm thinking a 1 week punt (ADM out, Hazard in) & getting ADM back in next week.

    Krul (Elliott)
    Baines, Ivanovic, Clyne (Moore, Hutton)
ADM, Sanchez (c), Tadic, Siggy (Boyd)
    Aguero (vc), Pelle, Berahino

Thoughts appreciated & thanks in advance.

He had Sunderland last week away & it was his former club which usually bodes well but he didn't do anything. He looked tired & his touch was off & to me he looks out of form. Of course it could all blow up in my face & Welbeck does well & Sanchez bombs.

Don't like ADM to Hazard for a hit, then straight back. Waste of next weeks transfer, and Hazard NEEDS to score big to make it worthwhile, no room for error. The other move is decent, many will say no as you're taking out too good players, but I think it could pay off big.

Just like on the first day of FPL, when your ideal team is £10m over budget.
