We turn our attentions to the weekend’s nine matches now and delve into the data in our first member’s article of the week. Chelsea, Man City and Tottenham’s goalscoring midfielders arrive on our radar, whilst Swansea’s in-form frontman and Andy Carroll’s impact on West Ham’s style of play are also amongst this evening’s topics.

Can someone help me how to improve current squad? SP is in bracket.
    A) Defenders & GK need a major haul
    B) I need Costa. How?

If Pelle avoids a YC tomorrow I'd do Bego out for Heaton (would have suggested Guzan but don't fancy doubling up there since you have Hutton) and Clyne out for Azpil. You don't need Costa.

I think the thing I have changed since I first started playing fantasy football is now I either have the best player from a club in a position or I buy from a different club. Apart from in defence where as long as it is a decent defence or as my less frequently playing midfielder

It's mostly luck. Luck/ skill has been discussed on here many times over the years but I really think luck is the main factor.

In order to get my three Southampton players out and Kun in - yes. However it isn't a bad team. At the moment I have:

        DDG/Myhill

        Wisdom/Clyne/Bert/Shawcross/Bruce

        ADM/Fab/Sanchez/Siggy/Downing

        Costa/Pelle/Austin

Really wanted to get in Kun as everyone else in my private league has him, if he has a good game week I will fall behind (im 1st atm)

We do get another WC in January aswell?

Think that team is alright though - i think keeping one of the Southampton defenders is alright depending on what price you got them. But you've alr hit the button so can't reverse the decision now.

How far are you ahead? Yea we do get one in Jan.

On 652, 2nd on 615. Weird how last week there was no talk of Bony and this week he seems to be hot gossip. I mean, he is going into a great run of fixtures but he hasn't performed amazingly well. First 3 games he didn't score against burnley etc

Well, the ticker should help get you started. You'll have the January WC, so your current team needs to be built for the next 6-8 weeks. There are some obvious must-haves, but budget/team value could be an issue. What's the primary source of concern?

      1. NZREDS
        • 10 Years
        9 years, 6 months ago

Thanks for the reply. Main concern at the moment is not having Kun - I'm too scared to operate without him! As mentioned above I'm top of my league so if he has a huge gameweek I may fall behind. Basically I will be looking to upgrade my defense (costa, pelle, austin) and downgrade my Southampton defense. My midfield will look much the same.

"The players gave absolutely everything today."

"I can't fault the players. They left everything on the pitch."

Does anyone else find this sort of comment absolutely infuriating? I mean, they're paid a king's ransom to play football. They bloody well better be running their socks off. Right? I'm sure they do the same thing in the lower leagues. So what?

It seems to be a defeatist go to line. If I'm a fan of a club with any proper ambitions and my manager says anything to this effect I'm bloody worried. Wenger has been rolling it out for ages. Moyes used it ad nauseum. And now Rodgers seems to roll it out after every match.

I mean, WTF. How is that supposed to make anyone feel better? Why should we even care? I can't be alone here...

It's just typical media bull to keep the players' morale from dropping to a new low each week, Rodgers knows better than anyone that his team are doing terrible but you can't be going around telling everyone that

I agree. But whar is he really supposed to say. We were awful xxxx in particular was bad. It must be pretty hard to keep a dressing room especially when those players are used to success and are not getting it any more. Maybe a few less interviews would be better I mean do we actually learn anything from them?

Some managers are more patient than others. And they don't seem to fund faults in the performances. But I'm sure what they say to the media is not what they say to the team.

Patience = complacency, lacking in motivation and/or bottle

Can't be complacent if you're losing. But I agree, its not the right attitude, if you wait for your luck to turn on its own you'll end up ruining your season. Tactically, Wenger, Rodgers and Moyes are pretty weak.

Wenger really doesn't belong in this lot as he was absolutely fantastic for a long time. He just quit giving a toss at some point. He's ruining his legacy.

True, and it really hurts as an Arsenal fan.
But he still has the ability to bring in big players from big clubs. Just needs to change with the times.

Mourinho's face whenever someone asks about Costa again is priceless 😆 Or when someone asks a stupid question which he can only answer one way like "Is Willian important to the team?" He's hardly going to say "no, he's fecking useless" lol

Tbf, United were extremely lucky to get a win there. 2 goals from 1 shot on target says it all. I wouldn't fault the performance either because they dominated the game but just couldn't finish their chances.

That first half reminded me of Chelsea v Bayern in the CL final actually 😆

Any suggestions on which transfer looks the best?

    1) ivano, chadli, berahino (clyne and sakho out)
    2) yun, hazard, sakho (clyne and chadli out)
    3) trippier, chadli, giroud (clyne and sakho out)

    My team right now is:

    Krul (Adrian)
    Clyne, Chambers, Baines, (Duff, Wisdom)
    Fab, Sig, Chadli, ADM, Sanchez
    Costa, Kane (Sakho)

1 FT (willing to take -4) with 2.2m in the bank

    Guzan
Baines - Clyne - Chambers (Dummet, Wisdom)
Sanchez - ADM - Fab - Downing (Boyd)

Koeman to Liverpool would make them the laughing stock of world football.

Simeone would be interesting. He was very much a crowd favourite from the start at Aleti though, had some element of trust and loyalty from fans, easier to build camaraderie with players.

Not sure if he will get the same treatment at Arsenal who pretty much expect a proven manager to replace Wenger.
