The Weekend Team News

Stewart Downing returns to training for West Ham, though Sam Allardyce still has doubts over a handful of regulars. Jack Wilshere is out for three months with an ankle injury for Arsenal. Newcastle pair Fabricio Coloccini and Steven Taylor return to training but Tim Krul is doubtful. Saido Berahino is fit for West Brom after recovering from a minor hamstring problem, while Stoke are hit by a virus ahead of the trip to Liverpool.

Arsene Wenger has confirmed Jack Wilshere is set to be sidelined for three months after undergoing ankle surgery. Mikel Arteta is also ruled out for the Gunners, whilst Wojciech Szczesny has failed to train and Yaya Sanogo “has problems” with the hamstring injury that forced him off in midweek. Danny Welbeck is set for a fitness test later today on the knee problem that forced him to miss the win over Dortmund, though Theo Walcott remains sidelined with a groin problem.

Villa’s injury room remains packed ahead of their trip to Burnley. Paul Lambert has confirmed that Ron Vlaar, Philippe Senderos and Nathan Baker are all still absent due to injury.

Scott Arfield and Nathaniel Chalobah are both available for Burnley available for Burnley’s home encounter after recovering from a knock, though Sean Dyche is still without Sam Vokes and Matt Taylor as Villa roll up to Turf Moor. Michael Duff is rated “touch and go” after being forced off last week with a calf complaint.

Palace will be without the services of Damien Delaney for the next couple of matches. The central defender sustained a calf injury at home to Liverpool last time out and has an “outside chance” of making the Gameweek 15 clash with Spurs, according to Neil Warnock. The Palace boss has also confirmed Adrian Mariappa “might be out a little bit longer than Delaney” with the knee injury sustained in training last week.

Everton midfielder James McCarthy will be assessed after limping out of last night’s win over Wolfsburg with a recurrence of a hamstring injury. Aiden McGeady recovered from a weekend illness to play the full 90 minutes.

Hull are without frontman Abel Hernandez for the next two league encounters as he has returned to his native Uruguay for the birth of his child. Steve Bruce will welcome back Mo Diame, though, after the midfielder overcame the knee problem that forced him out of last week’s encounter with Spurs.

Marcos Rojo has returned to training for United, though it remains to be seen whether he’s fit enough to be considered this weekend after a recent shoulder injury.

Alan Pardew revealed Fabricio Coloccini, Steven Taylor, Cheick Tiote and Emmanuel Riviere have all returned to training for Newcastle, those was somewhat coy on the quartet’s availability, saying “I don’t want to give too much away”. The Magpies manager is confident that young winger Rolando Aarons will be back next week and also confirmed Ryan Taylor is out for only three-to-four weeks after sustaining a slight knee problem last weekend. Tim Krul is a doubt for the trip to West Ham, however, after picking up a training ground knock.

After serving a three-match suspension, Rio Ferdinand will be assessed for QPR’s clash with Leicester. Harry Redknapp is hopeful the defender will be fit, though the Hoops boss ruled out Adel Taarabt once again, admitting “He’s still not fit and still not training”.

Mark Hughes has revealed Asmir Begovic, Geoff Cameron and Phil Bardsley have all picked up a virus that is sweeping through the Stoke camp. The Potters hope to have Marc Wilson and Erik Pieters back in time for their trip to Anfield after both missed out last week – Hughes went on to reveal that Wilson has returned to training, while Robert Huth is closing in on a return from a calf complaint.

Saido Berahino is in contention for West Brom after overcoming a “minor hamstring” problem according to Alan Irvine. The Baggies also has Sebastien Pocognoli back for the visit of Arsenal, while James Morrison is hoping to recover from illness.

Stewart Downing and Cheick Kouyate both returned to training for West Ham yesterday, Sam Allardyce has confirmed. The Hammers boss admitted he’s less positive on the other three players – Alex Song, Enner Valencia and Diafra Sakho – that missed out last weekend, though he reckons Mark Noble “might” be back in contention after being forced off in the 2-1 defeat at Goodison.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream as breaking news unfolds.

This might very well be a bad gw for me.

    Forster
    Chambers-Hutton-Duff
    Downing-Chadli-Sanchez-ADM
    Aguero-Costa-Pelle

    McCarthy-Moore-Boyd-Pieters

2FT w 2.1 ITB might help, but dont know where to use them. Also, who should get the armband?

Forster -> Adrian or Fabianski. But you could keep him for his save points.

      Pelle -> Austin or Bony.

I might take a -8 to get rid of Chadili as he looks most likely not to play! However, Ameobi looks good so far.

    How does this sound:

Baines, Clyne and Chadli > Naylor, Yun and Hazard (-8)

    Courtois
    Baines* / Clyne / Moore
Sanchez (VC) / Di Maria / Siggy / Chadli*
    Aguero / Costa (C) / Sakho*

    Dummett / Wisdom / Albrighton
    1 FT / 0.0 ITB

    Thanks in advance, all.

I don't like getting either Baines or Clyne out, especially not before an Everton presser. Either way, that defence would be abysmal.

@Beavis - my take on Kane is - if he continues to get starts then he becomes a very viable option.

Right now it's still too early for me and he has a couple of tough fixtures in the next 4 or 5, which I'll use to gauge his progress.

My thinking was if krul is out for 1 week then me doing sahko to austin would involve 1 transfer meaninig i will still have 2 for next GW.

Basically means it would be a risk, one I doubt he'll take. He may do and get away with it but would still be the incorrect decision imo. He has decent cover.

What an amateur mistake by taking 8 point hit on tuesday evening due to price movement and still have Baines & Duff injured and Moore who is dropped.

    🙁

And that Dinnery guy is suggesting that Baines has small chance

Seems the Situation is quit complicated this week...

    My team:

    Krul*, Manone**
    Clyne, Baines*, Azpi, Chambers, Robertson
    Chadli*, Siggy, Fab, Sanchez, Mane
    Aguero, Welbeck*, Sakho*

I could have 5 players out.. Manone is a no go, Krul seems to be out a while, Baines is a big if, Chadli who knows? Sakho, probably out, Welbeck game time decision

    No FT, and 0 ITB

    A) Time to WC?
    B) Manone >> Heaton and Welbeck >> Austin for -8?
    C) dont do anything

    Krul / Heaton
    Ivan / Chambers / Wisdom //// Moore / Wilson
    Alexis / ADM / Fab / Downing / Tadic
    Costa / Pelle / Campbell

    A) Wilson, Tadic & Pelle -> Yun, Boyd & Rooney -4;
    B) Tadic & Pelle -> Boyd & Rooney for free and play Wisdom vs Arsenal?

      Costa for now. Considering ADM.
Will be Rooney if I get him.

Also considering ADM or haz or aguero. But Aguero is playing home so think that he got the advantages

Really struggling this week, with 3 Soton and doubts for Bego and Baines. Wildcard?

    Begovic Gilks
    Baines Chambers Betrand Chester Hutton
    Hazard Sanchez Tadic Siggy Boyd
    Aguero Pelle Austin

    A. Pelle > Bony
    B. Tadic & Pelle > Downing & Rooney (-4)
    C. Bertrand Tadic Pelle > Yun Downing Costa (-8)
    D. Wildcard. Get rid of 3 x Soton, Bego, Baines, Chester

    Any thoughts appreciated.

Take a -8 and still be left with Baines and Bego? I think that's my least favoured option even though it means getting Costa back...
