We place our faith in a couple of midweek goalscorers and Tottenham’s Danish maestro in this week’s attempt to get the better of Paddy.

First up, we pay visit to Villa Park, where the hosts entertain fellow strugglers Leicester. Paul Lambert’s side are now on a four-match unbeaten run, with just two goals conceded over that period, whilst talisman Christian Benteke is starting to find his form after firing the winner at Palace on Tuesday. Paddy are prepared to offer 25/1 on the Belgian to notch two or more goals and the hosts to earn a clean sheet, we’ll make this our bet of the week and shell out £4.

Our attentions turn to Anfield next as Liverpool go in search of a third consecutive win. Steven Gerrard was amongst the goals in Tuesday’s triumph at Leicester and with their confidence up, the Reds will fancy their chances of keeping out a Sunderland side with just two goals to their name in the last four. The final bet is kept for an all-London clash at the Lane, as Spurs play host to Palace. After blanking at the Bridge on Wednesday evening, Christian Eriksen will be desperate to return to the form that saw him net in back-to-back matches prior to the midweek Chelsea showdown.     I switched Costa to Rooney last week and I would need a hit to bring him back, which I don't think is worth it. My only concern is my defense as with Naylor suspended and Duff most likely out I only have 3 playing defenders, with Moore being one of them. I was considering Duff -> Hutton but I'm mostly leaning towards saving the FT.

            That's my thinking as well, hard to decide whether it's worth risking him or not.

            Tottenham also had some spectacular losses at home '(WBA), so it wouldn't be too out of the question to play him.

            Also having 3 players from the same game is a bit tricky.

    My last decision is who to play out of Baines & Siggy. Currently on Baines. I already have Bony means I don't have to play Siggy. Baines won't get a cs but could do something offensively. Is this rationale sound.

      There's very slim chance for Baines CS & he's more likely to concede 2 goals so it comes down to who is more attacking between Siggy & Baines. Siggy for me. Having said that I'd start Baines over Chambers as I think Stoke will score at home.

      Obviously a while since Leicester were in the prem but head to head Leicester have beaten Villa more times than Villa have beaten Leicester. Difficult one as Villa have joint worst home record this season and Leicester picked only 3pts up on their travels.

        - Moore is my 5th defender, so I'm looking for a like for like replacement so that leaves me with enough cash in the bank to deal with more pressing issues. It's not as if the 5th defender will play much anyways. Someone like a Yun would be good - but he is off to the Asian Cup soon

        - Hutton rotates very well with Clyne, so I don't feel that removing Clyne will do me any good - especially having bought him at his initial price 🙂

            Haha, that's the point but surely I couldn't just 'waste' one of my transfers. Ivanovic is due a fall in price sometime soon, maybe today or tomorrow, and that might sway my decision. Ivanovic out, Terry/Azpi in to generate some cash for future transfers?

            Not too keen on the defensive double up. Also not keen on spending more money on a 5th defender
