The ScoutCast – Episode 148 – Harried

Granville and I make a New Year return to the ScoutCast studio, battered and bruised by the events of Gameweek 20 which saw us both inexplicably bench Harry Kane and his 18-point haul.

Having wasted our big differential and haunted by constant reminders, my co-host and I struggle to make a recovery. Spitting the pips from our sour grapes, we do our best to justify our doomed decision-making, before attempting to salve the wounds with talk of the Winter Wildcard refresh around the usual batch of regulars.

Feel the frustration via this link or swallow the bitter pill via the handy player belowโ€ฆ

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Hi,

    Would you be so kind to give me a bit feedback on my semi finalised WC leaves me with 0 in bank. Many thanks. Baines + Falcao is my escape route into Aguero BTW

    Hamer [Pantilimon]
    Cahill Wisdom Baines [PVA Cameron]
    Hazard Sanchez Di Maria Chadli [Boyd]
    Falcao Costa Kane

      - Siggy for Chadli as you already have Kane.
      - Krul for Hamer as Leicester signed Schwarzer
      - Giroud for Falcao to generate funds

      Really not feeling the double Utd, especially with the move for Aguero requiring a transfer, to be honest its probably worth ditching Baines now.

      I disagree with the comment above about double Spurs. Both Chadli and Kane are close to being the best in their categories for points per min per million (not an exact measure but not a bad one either)

        Almost same team, except Wisdom/JT and Fabregas/Eriksen. Leaving it for 2ft next week (probably zaba and wisdom out) and wc following one to fit Aguero and go for big 4 rather than big 5 mids which has messed me up.

      Hi guys, would appreciate your thoughts on my WC team.

      Foster Myhil

      Terry Bertrand PVA Trippier Wasilewski

      Sanchez Hazard Siggy Sterling Boyd

      RvP Costa Kane

      Will wait to get Aguero after Chelsea match, and that means i'm giving RvP and Costa 3 game to play and to chose which one to get rid gor Kun. Its probably going to be Costa because he just dont get any 10+ point hauls any more and is every game so close to a red card that i dont consider him capitan option any more, and pretty soon he's goin to get 10th yellow and 2 game ban.
      Also, in defence i'm going with PvA and Trip combo for 3rd spot for a while hoping that they could prove as nice differentials with thier nice fixtures and atacking potential. Rest of the team is pretty standard.

          Same old story though. For the last few years Arsenals midfield and attack has been touted as one of the best around, but as soon as they don't have possession they fall to pieces. Still, they'll be exciting to watch, really hope Ozil finally finds his feet.

        This is the tough one alot will be thinking of.

        Mata - Inconsistent gametime potentially
        ADM - Injury prone
        Rooney - Solid but reverse OOP
        RVP - way overpriced
        Falcao - reminds me of Forlan

        Think goals/points will be constantly shared out and for their respective prices only a greedy ADM become an option. Wait and see for me.

      Anyone think that Kane may well do an Austin/Tadic/numerous others and blank this weekend?

      Everybody loves a blank after a big haul!

        You know it but have you the balls to bench?

      Bit of a dilemma. Have 2 FT. Current team is:

      Guzan
      Wisdom, Zabaleta, Azpi (Clyne, Dummett)
      Hazard, Sanchez, Silva, Yaya*, Sigurdsson
      Austin, Kane, Bony*

      Have to get rid of Yaya and Bony obv. But if I use 2FT I end up with benching problems (likely to be Siggy or Austin).

      So, should I just use 1FT and bench either Bony/Yaya (and ride the price drop) or use both FT and have this benching problem?

      Also don't know who to bring in (£1.2 mil ITB).

      Opinions appreciated.

        Keep yaya on bench and do bony for ings? Leaving you with 2fts for next week? If you do yaya transfer early you won't notice the price drop!

        Bring in Fabregas, use 2 FT in GW 23 to load up on United or Arsenal, then use WC in GW 24.

          Choose mid of your choice, many out there better than Fab, offload Bony to Giroud in GW 22.

      In order to play the WC at the latest possible time, one has 3 weeks from players being brought in now. With that in mind the standout teams are: Burnely, Liverpool, United and Spurs...

      Best option therefore is: (current team below)
      A. Hutton ---> Trippier
      B. Downing ---> Sterling
      C. Downing ---> Chadli
      D. Austin ---> Ings

      Guzan (Elliot)
      Naylor . Azpill . Zaba (Hutton . Yun)
      Hazard (c) Sanchez (vc) . Silva . Downing (Boyd)
      Costa . Kane . Austin

      Thoughts on my WC team?

      Foster / Heaton

      Terry / Bertrand / Jones / Naylor / Wasilewski

      Silva / Hazard / Sanchez / Siggy / Boyd

      Kane / Austin / RVP

      Thanks in advance.

        Austin hasn't been performing that well recently and he has a lot of away games coming up.
