The Fantasy Flutter – Gameweek 21

After a hectic festive period, we go head-to-head with Paddy for the first time in the calendar year. With a tenner in hand, we turn to a trio of home sides in this week’s Flutter and place our faith in Burnley and Swansea’s strikers, whilst United’s fit-again Argentine also gets the nod as the Saints roll up to Old Trafford.

Turf Moor is our first port of call as Burnley and QPR go head-to-head later today. The Clarets lost 2-0 at Loftus Road last month and will be desperate for revenge here and, having scored two at City and three at Newcastle, we’re backing their attack to get the better of ‘Arry’s boys. Paddy are offering 25/1 on Danny Ings to score two or more goals and Burnley to keep a clean sheet and with those odds, we’re prepared to make this our bet of the week and shell out £4.

Next up, we head to Old Trafford for United’s home showdown with Southampton. As they’ve shown in recent matches, the Saints will be no pushovers against Louis van Gaal’s side and we’re expecting a tightly-fought encounter on Sunday afternoon. Angel Di Maria returned to action with a goal at Yeovil last weekend and with Paddy willing to offer 8/1 on the Argentine to score and United to keep a clean sheet, we’ll hand over £3.

We cross the border to Wales for our final bet as Swansea welcome West Ham to the Liberty. With Wilfried Bony off to the African Cup of Nations and looking likely to head to City before the transfer window closes, Bafetimbi Gomis has the chance to fire his way onto Fantasy radars against Big Sam’s side. With Paddy prepared to offer 25/1 on the Frenchman to score two or more goals and Swansea to keep a clean sheet, we part company with our final £3.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to Paddy Power, you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up on this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally, of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

Guys will aguero rise in value in next 8 days? As i read somewhere that if the color changes directly to blue, price is protected for 8-10 days? Am i right?

It went to yellow before it went to red, so most sites are saying he isn't protected. I haven't found anything definitive though.

    On a WC.

    How about this WC?

    Foster
    Terry, Jones, Hutton
    Hazard, Silva, Sanchez Chadli
    Costa, Kane, Ings

    Panti, ADM, Alder, PVA

Got exact amount cash to do Costa + Silva > Kun + Cesc.
Should i do it now or risk it for 2 weeks or might have ro take a hit next week?

    1. FEASTER
      • 9 Years
      9 years, 5 months ago

Kun's price will rise in less than 2 weeks. Either do it now, or at least switch Silva to Fabregas and Costa to someone else, then you'll only have to make one quick move to get Kun in next week.

I'm using RvP to avoid double switch.

Hutton has terrible fi'x coming, Pant rotates with Krul better than Foster, who rotates best with Guzan--again fix's. GL good team almost to good with defs.

      1. There are better rotations than Foster/Panti (check the article: http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2015/01/06/winter-wildcard-selection-the-goalkeepers/ )
      2. Isn't Costa+Silva cheaper than Kun+Cesc (so you will have cash in 2 gw)
      3. I would wait to see at least one GW on Kun, ADM and if any Arsenal mids are better options
      4. Hutton has bad fixtures (find a better option, maybe Wisdom if WBA does better with Pulis)
These are just my thoughts that stopped me from WC this GW

I need to force myself to step away from the computer until after the transfer deadline. Is my WC team good to go?

    Pantilimon - Hamer
    Terry - Bertrand - Wisdom - Hutton - PVA
Hazard - Sanchez - Di Maria - Fabregas
    Aguero - Giroud - Austin

    0.2ITB

I keep going back and forth between Austin and Kane, but I can switch Austin to Kane later, whereas I wouldn't be able to afford Kane-->Austin since I got him for cheap.

Sanchez - Hazard - Sterling - Di Maria (Boyd)
    Aguero - Giroud - Kane

I was just thinking how Boyd as a 5th mid is just going to be frustrating when he scores as nobody will ever start with the other mids/strikers we have? Siggy is my 4th and I played him every game and that will remain the same. I may save £0.5m and get a £4.1m that never offers a dilemma.

Who would you captain out of this lot?

    1. Sanchez
    2. Costa
    3. Fabregas
    4. Kane
    5. Austin

I am leaning towards Sanchez (C) and Costa (VC)? Good call?

Yep same. Newcastle will just park the bus again. Stoke will leave more gaps.

if Chelsea don't get an early goal it could be quite the boring match

If anything the opposite. Chelsea will likely shut up shop.

Ta, have flipped combos of Sunderland and WBA Gks and Wisdom/PvA.
Have thought PvA over Hutton too?

What is it with these bloody price prediction sites?! Yet again I've been stung - Fantasy Football Fix, which is supposedly the best, predicted Yaya would go down today, so I thought I'd wait and get up early to decide who's coming in .... bolx to them all!!!

Ahhh... I'd been stung before so now I make sure to do the trade a day or so before I think it might drop (if I know what I want to do). They do put up there accuracy stats (under recent price changes) which can often been very poor.

Is PVA defo starting from now on? Or should I stick with another Sunderland player?

Maybe not this week but he should regain his spot eventually.

For the next 2 - 3 gws...who would you have

    A: Fab + Rooney + P.jones
    B: Adm + Costa + P.jones
    C: Fab/Adm + Giroud + Baines (mci, WBA, cpl)

    All their merits
A - should be consistent, both undervalued in my opinion
B - the more explosive option but points wise..i dont know how to differentiate between adm/costa and fab/rooney
C: very good option imo as baines is a good punt before a WC

        A if ahead(consistent) , B if trailing(explosive).

hmmm am leading but i dont let that deter my thinking process.

Its all about which combo is better
