Injuries

The Treatment Table – Gameweek 26

We cast an eye over the new injuries sustained during the weekend’s ten fixtures this evening. Problems mount for Palace up front, Newcastle’s concerns continue, whilst United’s misfiring Dutchman is set for ankle scans after Saturday’s loss at Swansea.

Aston Villa
Kieran Richardson was forced off during the first half of Saturday’s home loss to Stoke due to injury.

Crystal Palace
Fraizer Campbell was withdrawn during the Eagles’ home loss to Arsenal after picking up a hamstring problem. Marouane Chamakh failed to feature against his former club due to a similar complaint.

Liverpool
Mamadou Sakho missed today’s clash with Southampton due to a hip problem, the Reds’ official twitter feed has confirmed.

Man United
The Red Devils are sweating over the fitness of Robin van Persie after the Dutchman left the Liberty Stadium on crutches after sustaining an ankle injury Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Swansea. United are expected to know results of scans on the Dutchman by some point tomorrow.

Newcastle
Daryl Janmaat limped off with a groin problem during the Magpies’ 5-0 hammering at the Etihad on Saturday evening. Manager John Carver confirmed:

“He has got a tight groin. I don’t think he’s too serious at the moment, but it is tight and we took him off as a precaution.”

QPR
Niko Krancjar limped out of the R’s narrow loss at Hull on Saturday and was replaced by Armand Traore on 78 minutes.

Southampton
Steven Davis was replaced at the break during the Saints’ home encounter against Liverpool after picking up a knock.

Sunderland
Billy Jones missed the Black Cats’ goalless draw with West Brom due to injury.

Stoke
Erik Pieters was replaced with five minutes remaining of the weekend win at Villa due to injury.

West Ham
Carlton Cole was forced off due to injury during the Hammers’ draw at Spurs this afternoon.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

One week punt on a midfielder up to 5.8 or a striker up to 7.2?

Could do with some help on the who too.

Ings/Cisse/Sakho for the striker. Maybe Moses/Walters as the mid.

Cheers Innsie, Cisse was my first thought, wonder how Newcastle will react to that thumping. Or is that the standard now?!

Fun one. Ings, Gomis, or Cisse all maybe a shout for striker. Midfielder more difficult...Cissoko has looked pretty good to me for Newcastle recently...could be a good choice.

        Gomis, now that's interesting.

He just needs a goal said Monk, now he's got it, hmmm...

No it's a waste. Sort out Duff and Marney, take a hit if necessary to do it. Bring in Eriksen for Sanchez next GW. And take it from there.

            Heaton, Mannone
            Azpi, Clyne, PVA, Bellerin, Haidara
            Hazard, Sanchez, Silva, Cazorla Sterling
            Aguero, Kane, Ayoze

I have 2FTs. Thinking of Azpi to Toby this week. Then Clyne to Rose and Ayoze to Austin next week. Possibly Eriksen in for a hit too.

I like this week's one if Toby is fit then I'd keep Clyne after, especially with their GW 28 fixture.

Think what I'm doing is Sanchez/Caz to Eriksen and Austin in for Ayoze. Only problem is that you'll have a benching problem after that hence why I'm getting Moses in this week who will be benched hereafter. Not convinced Rose gets 2 games nor that they will even get a single cleanie, Clyne to outscore him with 1 game.

Right I gotta go, I'll be around in the week.

No FA Cup, No Europe = easy to call.

It's the CL and EL clubs where the rotation issues will be, much as everyone wants to deny it.

sorry for the repost but only 1 response....

    Hi all, advice appreciated:

    Pants Krul
    Clyne Bertrand Hutton PVA Wisdom
    Hazard Sanchez AMD Caz Punch
    Aguero Giroud Kane

    2FT 0.1 in bank

Will wait until later in week but...

GW27 - Hazard to Silva (playing 352 and lose 0.2 on Hazard)
GW28 - Wisdom ADM Giroud to Rose Eriksen Austin (-4 but gets rid of Wisdom for DGW Def plus DGW players)
GW29/30 start to bring in Chelsea players

Does this seem a decent plan?

Would rather have Hazard over Silva for the long run. I'd probably prioritize losing Wisdom instead this week.

Yeah I mean in that case I'm sure you won't be missing too much of a trick if you are Hazard-less for just a game or two. I'm just still pessimistic on Silva now that they are back to having everything at their disposal and back to the 442, but can't argue with his big fat 17 pointer yesterday. Can see your reasoning behind it, certainly.

Just used Gargatron for the first time.

Is Total captain score 316 bad?
And is Captain score as % of overall score 20.30% low one?

I think they are quite low, right?
Could i look it that way, that even with a low captain score i'm in top 1k, so i'm doing something right, and i can only get better with my captain choices..

    Heaton (Panti)
    Bertrand Jones Wollscheid Wasi (Terry)
    ADM Cazorla Boyd Sanchez (Hazard)
    Aguero Defoe (Kane)

    1FT 1.1ITB

Problem is that Wasi isn't playing now so I am effectively playing with 10.

    A) Trade out Wasi for Bruce
    B) Save FT and use for ADM/Jones -> Eriksen/Rose next GW

It's never about "should I get this player" or "should I get rid of this player". It's about your overall plans for the team.

When you let one player disrupt your squad shape it can have bad consequences whoever the player is. Aguero is not a bad pick. Neither is Sanchez. Neither is Hazard. Neither is Sturridge. But if you try to have all of them your team will end up being weaker.

Differentials are as much about which high-ownership, high-cost player(s) to leave out as which players you bring in.

    What should I do:

    a) Get rid of Terry & field a 5-4-1
    b) Get rid of Austin (intend on getting back for the DGW though)
    c) Keep all 4, go with 10 and make another change?

    Foster/Myhill
    Terry/PVA/Bellerin/Clyne/Haidara
    Hazard/Sanchez/ADM/Cazorla/Boyd
    Aguero/Kane/Austin

I actually have no clue right now. Depends how nuts I want to be. If I feel like being a dullard, it will be Alexis or Kun, but Cisse is sitting there staring at me with his fancy black and white stripes and it gets me thinking.....

Quite amazing the range of grounds being used in the cricket World Cup...everything from super stadiums that would put some of the best footy stadiums to shame right down to what look like small provisional grounds with a couple of temporary stands...Football could learn a lot from this.

I have 2 FTs but I will bench Terry, Haz and Kane.

Then in 4-4-2 Colback is suspended so I have to do Oscar to Di María and Colback to someone with the FTs.

Fundamental FPL game theory, this question is. Assuming you have a good enough other four defenders I think you are more likely to come out ahead going A since Wollscheid should probably never start again for you unless things go pear shaped. On the other hand, the hit is only for -2 or -3 most likely, and could give you +2 if you get lucky, and is also obviously more fun to have an extra player.

I really can't say, mate. It just depends on what you determine as best for your team! Surely Oscar and Colback out is the priority over a defender. But either way, doesn't really impact the decision on your original question to me as they are separate issues.

Ok, I´m thinking Wisdom, Colback and Oscar to Naughton, 7.1 or less mid and Di María.

Any suggestion in a 7.1 mid??

Siggy could be a good differential option right now, though I'm not sure if he was playing out wide today - I missed that game - which would dent his appeal a bit. Not sure what more Herrera has to do to cement a place in the team sheet but he seems to get an attacking return every game he starts.

Ki is a no for me. Downing also a no, his expiration date is past due. Mane is, I think, I've got him, but he got several demerits today and I don't want him disrupting my locker room vibe so I may have to give him his walking papers soon.

      B. You need Wisdom out and with your new defender probably getting 2 points it's only for a -2 in effect.

    Hi all, advice appreciated:

    Pants Krul
    Clyne Bertrand Hutton PVA Wisdom
    Hazard Sanchez AMD Caz Punch
    Aguero Giroud Kane

    2FT 0.1 in bank

Will wait until later in week but...

GW27 - Hazard to Silva (playing 352 and lose 0.2 on Hazard)
GW28 - Wisdom ADM Giroud to Rose Eriksen Austin (-4 but gets rid of Wisdom for DGW Def plus DGW players)
GW29/30 start to bring in Chelsea players
