The ScoutCast – Episode 159 – Inactive

Only one FPL manager could withstand a 52-point hit and walk away with a smile on their face. In this week’s ScoutCast episode we tell the extraordinary tale of the FPL champion’s “inactive” Wildcard, whilst looking back on Granville’s own, rather more successful squad refresh.

We tackle all the usual regulars, as Jonty arrives armed with another array of quizzical requests from you, the community. We look forward to the Gameweek 37 double Gameweek, assess the role of end of season motivation and recall the moment that Jamie Vardy’s girlfriend turned our world upside down. No really.

This week’s episode was published live on Monday via Google Hangouts. You can view the full, uncut footage in the larger player below or via our YouTube channel.

If you prefer the slick, slimline audio edition, you’ll need this link or the first player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Morning all!

After a less than stellay showing in the DGW, I'm back for another beating - remind me why we do this! Help with my team would be much appreciated:

    Davis (Guzan)
Terry / Bertrand / Skrtel (Bellerin / Vlaar)
Hazard / Silva / Sterling / Henderson (Phillips)
    Aguero / Kane / Murray
    £2.5 ITB 1FT

I want to get rid of Murray, but can't afford Giroud without taking a hit (£1.0 short)

    My Options
    1) Save the transfer, bench murray and play belly or phillips (which?), in order to do a double transfer next week (e.g. Sterling > Grealish would free up the cash)
    2) Murray + Silva > Giroud + Ramsey + -4 (leaves me with £0.0 ITB!)
    3) Murray + Sterling > Giroud + 7.5m + -4 (who should I get that would make the hit worth it?)
    4) Forget Giroud for now, and just do Silva > Sanchez
    5) Something else?

    Cheers

Or 6) Murray > Benteke (which would also use up all my funds, making getting ARS cover difficult for the DGW)

Thank you to all the community members who have shown their support the last week or so since the sad loss of my mum. Being an only child it hasn't been easy with no one else to really talk to, so appreciate all the well wishes I have received from everyone here. Obviously a busy day ahead so I'm going to be off now. Take care all of you.

I lost my dad just a little over a year ago, it really is tough, especially when you see how much they suffer before they pass.

As time goes by you will look back at little moments in life you shared with your loved one and it will make you smile, make you really appreciate the time you got to spend with them.

I know whenever I think of my dad it really gives me a boost because I know he's still with me. The sad times will always be there, it's just being able to balance the emotions and being able to push the positives higher then the negatives.

I wish you and your family well, and I'm truly sorry for your loss.

    Davis (myhill)

2.5 in bank, enough to do Fab to Sanchez...

Hah, I'm in a similar-ish position (see my post higher up the page - would appreciate your thoughts).

The risk with Sanchez is that there's competition for points in the ARS midfield, so any of them are a gamble, and he's the most expensive gamble there. If you get Sanchez that'll use your cash, so make sure you have a plan for getting Giroud for the DGW.

Do you have cash in the bank for an upgrade to an Arsenal player? I think ditching Sterling could be a good move, but it's a touch risky given he's in almost everyone's teams (that's paying attention).

Anyone have any problems with playing 3 Liverpool players this week? Plan is to lose one or two before their Chelsea fixture.

I'm playing three, and their performance this week will dictate whether I ship one or two of them next week!

Decent fixtures for 36 and 37, but no good to me if they're playing like a bunch of donkeys.

Will Bellerin keep his place if Debuchy is fit?

Yes - but possibly rotated for the DGW.

I'm away for the weekend at a wedding, and I don't know when I'll get a chance to update my team.

This is how it lines up for the weekend:

    Mignolet,
    Terry, Skrtel, Clyne
Hazard C, Fabregas V, Sterling, Cambiasso
    Giroud, Kane, Aguero

Subs: Pantilimon, Schlupp, Van Aanholt, Boyd

Already did Murray to Giroud. Good to go?
