Scout Notes

Scout Notes – Gameweek 35 – Monday

Arsenal rack up a ninth win in ten Gameweeks with a commanding display at the KC Stadium. Alexis Sanchez nets twice and Aaron Ramsey chips in with a goal and assist, as Stephen Quinn heads home Hull’s consolation in the 3-1 defeat.

Sanchez at the double as Arsenal flourish

Alexis Sanchez stole the headlines with a brace at the KC Stadium as Arsenal staged a free-flowing, attacking masterclass to record a 3-1 victory over Hull City. The Chilean forward opened the scoring with a deflected free-kick, before latching onto Aaron Ramsey’s superb through ball and calmly rounding Steve Harper for the Gunners’ third of the evening.

Sanchez fourth brace of the campaign strengthens his case for inclusion as Fantasy managers eye up Arsenal coverage ahead of their double Gameweek 37. Those looking to draft in the 11.3-priced midfielder – who’s netted three goals in four league starts – may well consider making a straight swap with Eden Hazard to free up the substantial funds. Hazard’s consistency (attacking returns in 14 of previous 20 starts) is undeniable, yet Sanchez’ explosive capabilities have now seen him return double-figures on eight occasions ahead of his four fixtures in the final three Gameweeks.

Ramsey impressed once more in his sixth successive start since a full return from injury in Gameweek 29. The Wales international boosted his tally to three goals and four assists over that period and, priced at 8.7, has edged ahead of Mesut Ozil and Santi Cazorla in the race for our double Gameweek attentions.

Olivier Giroud drew a blank for the third match on the trot, having netted in six consecutive outings before Gameweek 32. The French marksman only mustered four shots in Arsenal’s last two fixtures, with none of these efforts forcing a save out of the opposition’s goalkeeper. Conversely, Sanchez has chalked up 10 shots (four on target) across the last two, perhaps rendering him the premier captaincy pick for Arsenal’s double – already, the Chilean has risen in price and has been snapped up by over 26,000 FPL managers since the weekend.

Arsene Wenger named an unchanged XI from that which played out a 0-0 stalemate against Chelsea last Gameweek. Danny Welbeck missed out with inflammation in his knee, but Wenger revealed before the encounter that he expects the former Manchester United frontman to be passed fit for their Swansea City clash next Monday.

Hull outclassed by buoyant Gunners

Steve Bruce also fielded an unchanged side as Hull fell to just their second home defeat in six. Stephen Quinn bagged his first goal of the campaign, while Ahmed Elmohamady notched his second assist in as many outings – the 12,600 Fantasy managers that drafted in the Egyptian on the eve of the Tigers’ double Gameweek will be hoping he can sustain that momentum when they host a Burnley outfit devoid of inspiration next weekend.

A subsequent trip to Tottenham Hotspur and home tie against Manchester United on the final day of the season present the Yorkshire club with a testing finish that doesn’t appear conducive to strong Fantasy returns. Nonetheless, the Tigers – who sit just one point behind 18th-placed Sunderland – will doubtless be fighting tooth and nail to avoid the drop, which, as evidenced by their recent results against Palace and Liverpool, could translate into results on the pitch.

I really want rid of my Liverpool players and get in Sanchez, would you:

    -4: Sterling + Hendo + Skrtel > Sanchez + Gomez +

    A) Trippier
    B) Jenkinson
    C) Vlaar

Gives me 6 for the DGW so the hit should be paid back easily. Thanks

For the DGW only, he's only there to get Sanchez, I know it's knee-jerky but at least the hit will get paid back though?

is there no way you can hold one transfer till following week and save the -4?
really you need the -4 to be paid back this week as you could have them all for free over next two weeks so your returns would be same from next week onwards if that makes sense

Yeah makes sense but wouldn't be able to do this with Skrtel, Ivan would have to go and even then, it gets rid of Jenkinson as an option. I can't see Liverpool getting anything against Chelsea. Very annoying i am confused

would you consider fabs over hendo then?

liverpool have decent home game wk37 and he may be back on pens and set pieces if gerard out.

chelsea may go into cruise mode and always chance of others getting games.

    REPOST (lost on last article)

    I think I want to take a -8 hit !
    I already have Kosc+Sanchez+Giroud

but Giroud-Sterling seem out of form

    Do I consider:
    A) Sterling-Giroud > Ramsey-Benteke (-8 hit)
    B) Sterling-Giroud > Ramsey-Cisse (punt) (-8 hit)
    C) Keep as it is

    Carver on Cissé

“He (Papiss Cisse) is quite positive about this whole situation, so don’t let us write him off.

“He has been really positive about it and it might be that we have to use him like Siem de Jong – in the last 20 minutes or half an hour – coming off the bench and getting in that six yard box to score the winning goal for us.

“We might have to use him in that way, but what we are not going to do is to put him at risk, put his health at risk by doing something stupid.

“The one thing that I will say is that when he was playing, you could see and it was blatantly obvious to everyone, that he had a little bit of an issue with a limp. The limp has gone now and so that is good news.”

Will wait for more news as the week goes on, but still very tempted.

so is hazard out for sanchez a sensible strategy if chasing a lead?

arsenal do have extra game and probably easier run in, but is sanchez just as likely to get rested for cup final the same as hazard is for being tired?

So does 3rd place finish. 4th place doesn't, however, and if they lose at OT, they'll risk dropping back to 4th.

    In a pickle lads!
    Current mids:
    Hazard/Fabregas/Ramsey/Sterling/Hendo
Do you fancy Fab/Sterling +4 to out score Sanchez/Hendo
    These options might help.
    A - fab/Hendo > Sanchez/Allbright -4 (0.5 itb)
    B - fab/Skrtel > Sanchez/Duff (38only) -4 (exact cash)
    C - fab/Sterling > Sanchez/Allbright -4 (2.3 itb)
Leaves enough cash for Kane > Bentekke (38)
D - save and play Fab/Sterling and do one of the above for free next week?
    Thanks in advance.

You reckon they'd score more Moin even with the hit?

I think Liverpool will find it hard to score against Chelsea..they might park the bus again. Sanchez has a good chance of scoring goals and with Leicester nowadays attacking so much, Albrighton has form right now.

            Agree,
            Start Allbright over Hendo so?
It seems there's a direct correlation with his inclusion over the last 6 with Leicesters upturn in form/results.
11/10/3... Ain't bad from the last few.
I'll sleep on it ta Moin.

    Ivan, Skrtel, Alderweirald, PvA, McShane
    Hazard, Silva, Sterling, Fabregas, Henderson
    Aguero, Kane, Vardy

    1.1 ITB

Which one are you happy to go without?

    A) Vardy (SOU, sun, QPR)
    B) Giroud (SWA, mun, SUN, WBA)
    C) Benteke (WHU, sou, BUR)

If A) then it means I have to swap Ivanovic to a 4,6 defender.
