Hi, I'm quite happy with my Attack and most of my mids, but unsure on def/goalkeepers! I've changed so many times, but would appreciate any advice please.

    Schmeichel, (Butland)

    Cedric, Azpi, Huth, (Williams), (Targett)

    Hazard, Sterling, Walcott, Chadli, (Anya)

    Rooney, Benteke, Sakho.

    Thank you

Keepers seem alright. Defence is a bit weak. Try and squeeze Bellerin/Mertesacker in there.

I'd drop Sakho for Wilson. WHam don't have the best fixtures.

Thanks - Who'd you swap out of defence to get Mert/Bellerin? Huth?

Hi everyone, any feedback on my team would be greatly appreciated.

    Schmeichel, Myhill

    Belerin, Azpi, Morgan, Mings, Bassong

    Silva, Cazola, Fabregas, Chadli, Chamberlain

    Benteke, Rooney, Sahko

Which attacker would you bench? I'd rather get Wilson in for Sakho, then use the funds to upgrade someone in midfield. Perhaps drop Silva, upgrade Chamberlain etc.

I wouldn´t have Myhill as one of my keepers, since he is mainly the back up for Ben Foster who is expected back in October. It is really important to have the opportunity to rotate the keepers for the harder gameweeks. There is just several better options for 4.5 in my opinion as Guzan, Butland or Krul.

Other than that your team looks good, maybe a bit weak defence..?

Just finished a draft league and this is my team:

    Fabianski

    Baines Mertesacker Shawcross Janmaat Shaw

    Cazorla Tadic Cabaye Barkley Lamela

    Rooney Lukaku Pelle

I'm thinking about tradiing one of my defenders for Cedric Soares? Feedback welcome.

I've been fiddling with my team for about a week now. This is my 5th version already, I think. Any thoughts?

    Cech
    Yoshida//Clyne//Ivanovic
    Cazorla//Hazard//Ox//Sterling
    Pelle//Lambert//Benteke

    Bench: Butland//O'Shea//Sinclair//Jenkinson

I still have £1m in the bank. I'm consider Fonte in place of Yoshida, as well as alternatives for Sinclair and Lambert. I've consider Theo, but he's pricey and I'm not sure he's a regular starter, same with Giroud. I've gone for Ox because I think he will start, at least until Alexis is back, and looks ready to perform. I've thought about Cabaye, but Palace have some difficult fixtures early.

Drop Clyne and punt on Gomez.

Cech isn't good value for money, I'd rather have Bellerin/Mertesacker who will get attacking returns and BAPS. Get a keeper to rotate with Butland, like Ruddy or Kasper etc.

Drop the Ox, not keen on him, especially since you have Cazorla. Replace him with someone like Chadli.

Strikers are a bit meh, mid range. Try and fit Rooney/Aguero in.

      1. kabuk1

Thanks. Yeah, I was considering an alternative for Cech & I guess the defenders will benefit from him.

As for Ox, I know what you mean, but I really think he could rack up some points if his current form goes into the regular season. Not too keen on Chadli, but will have a look at other options. I'm trying to work it so I can eventually bring in Alexis.

Yeah, I had Rooney in there and may go back to him. I'd like Aguero, but I don't think he'll be starting the first couple of GWs, but I plan to work him in after that. Cheers.

      Downgrade Shaw.

right so i've read about and tinkered until my heart's content and I think i'm getting there with this team, what does anyone else think?

      GK: Butland/ Ruddy

      DEF: Bassong/ Mings/ Azpi/ Cedric/ Richards

      MID: Hazard/ Mane/ Walcott/ Chadli/ Sinclair

      ATT: Wilson/ Rooney/ Gestede

This has left me 4mil in the bank - 2.5 for Aguero and 1.5 to play with (if i can find another 0.5 i can get in Sanchez for Walcott as well)

      any opinions and advice welcome

Thoughts on Naismith as 3rd striker? I've gone big with Rooney and Kane, and have 5.5 to spend.

If you only have 5.5 to spend on a striker, I'd punt on Deeney or Wilson. Maybe give Agbonlahor a go fo 5.0. I doubt Naismith will prove to be any kind of differential.

      Hi all,

New to the forum but not to the addiction of doing a thousand transfers before GW1!

Anyone fancy a RMT for me? Much appreciated!

      Schmeichel/(Fabianski)

      Azpilicueta/Kompany/Fonte/Koscielny/(Francis)

      Hazard(c)/Mané/Cazorla(v)/Puncheon/(Grealish)

      Berahino/Kane/(Sakho)

Not sure about the Puncheon and Grealish and think the strikers are going to struggle in the first game week. Should be good after that.

Everton have a tough start this season, facing Southampton (A), Man City (H), Spurs (A) and Chelsea (H) in a row in their in the first 5 weeks and Liverpool (H), Man Utd (H) and Arsenal (A) in a row in the next 5 weeks. Only after GW10 do they have a run of fixture where they should pick up a lot of points. I'd seriously consider looking at alternatives for any Everton player, epsecially defenders.

I'd also go for a more reliable keeper. You need at least one solid GK who will play and bring in some points, not sure either of you keepers fit that bill. Stekelenburg and Butland might be better options at the same price- good run of fixtures. You could use the 1m to upgrade one of you GK or one of your defenders. Do those defenders rotate well? Good midfield!

          Hey folks

I don't believe I have posted many times but normally pop in. I have never stuck a RYT up on the site before, as I generally have unwavering confidence in my own teams - but I'm open for some advice, suggestions, criticisms etc this year.

It must be the hardest I have remembered it being to pick a squad. I have went for the following, leaving me 2.0m in the bank

          Butland/Ruddy
          Mertesacker/Cedric/Huth/Kaboul/Targett
          Hazard/Walcott/Ki Sung Yueng/Hoolahan/Sinclair
          Costa/Rooney/Pelle

A few itchy bum concerns are obviously will Costa start, also Kaboul. If not, Ill bang him out straight away for O'Shea/Coates - hopefully I'll have an idea before 11.45 on Saturday!

Costa - the plan is to use the 2.0 to swap him for Aguero either gw2 or gw3 really. But again, if I think he is not going to make it this weekend I may throw someone like Bony/Benteke/Giroud in.

I could easily swap Ki with Mahrez (or if Ibe/Odemwingie start the season then this will free up another 0.5 which I could possibly use to swap Pelle to Benteke if Pelle looks like showing his donkey from from the back end of last season.

Ill risk the Walcott issue as I feel if he starts up front he will score during the first few games,. If not, then that'll Sterling coming in, or Ozil.

Thanks in advance for any responses - I know there are loads of posts like this on here.
I deliberately don't pick Liverpool players normally as its a superstition (Liverpool fan - too many weeks sitting at Anfield and seeing them draw blanks, a doubly hurting whammy!)

I know one thing though! I can't wait for the season to start!!

Hi All, what do you think of this line up? My changes have started to get less now on a daily basis so I know I am nearing my final choice 😉

      Cech
      Clynne / Cedric / Azpilicueta
      Mane / Cazorla / Silva / Hazard / Sinclair
      Pelle / Kane

Subs: Hennessey / Baker / Simpson / Deeney
Still niggling away at me are the names Fabregas, Ramsey, Stirling, Bellerin, Benteke or old faithful Giroud?

      1. Bourbon, Pot Still or Islay…
        • 9 Years
        8 years, 9 months ago

I think Kane may struggle this season, particularly during the first couple of months. I have also gone with Pelle, but will always be on red alert to get shot once September nears a close. Midfield is good - with having Mane I'd be tempted with Giroud or Benteke instead (do you have any money itb?) as doubling up up front with Arsenal should be more fruitful than Stn.
I was hoping Adebayor would be at Villa now, as I was banking on him as a 3rd striker enabling me to boost my midfield.

My team is just above yours on the thread, happy for feedback

Jason, cheers for the feedback. Thinking of the Giroud replacing Kane seriously, although Kane is a certain starter Giroud and Walcott battling it out for that front spot?

Ramsey I like and wish last season I had included him earlier than I did. As you can probably guess I am a Gooner. What do you think to dropping Silva replacing him with Fabregas then having a spare million to play with?

I do like your front line I just worry about Costa with his injury especially being left out yesterday. Your midfield is an attacking one, like me probably thinking Sinclair is a good shout at 5.0m and slowly getting back to his best, his price could rise especially now he is scoring.

If I was to be critical it would be of the BFG, love our Per to bits but think you could find a faster more solid Defender for his price. Good to link up.

this is the first time i have registered as a member and i was wondering how good the RMT function actually is. i have built numerous teams ranging from 310 to 330 for the first six games, so how much emphasis should i actually be placing on these numbers? or is it better to just go with my gut feeling?

Taken a bit of a punt on young but he seems to be starting all the preseason games in attacking positions for united. Potentially downgrade Cech and upgrade Young to a 7.0m? not sure who though.

If you want my opinion, then having 3 slots on Arsenal and 2 of them in def isn't the best way... I would downgrade Cech (for Shmeichel for example) and Sterling for Mane, which leaves a lot cash to upgrade Young, which isn't going to rock, imo... Cheers 🙂

hi Guys, posted this on another thread which appears to be a bif of a ghost town...thought i woould post it here if its alright

"Sorry guys i think i might have posted a blank box?

Dont know why but really nervous about posting my team.....been a member for a few years but never really engaged you experts, hope everyone is cool.... please be gentle as my knowledge isnt amazing

      Anyway please RMT.....

      GK :- Myhill & Schmeichel
Def :- Ivanovic Targett Clyne Huth Mariappa
      Mid : - Depay Ozil Walcott(vc) Hazard(c) Wanyama
      FWD: - Rooney Lukaku Defoe

Please any thoughts or advise on this team is very welcome...both negative or positive

I also have a couple of random questions

      1) why do so many people have cedric in their team?
      2) i joined the wagon on wanyama...as he was cheap and loads have him in their team so didnt want to miss out on something ..but i dont see many points from an attacking sense. could the change in BPS be whats driving the selection? that and the fact he is a sure starter in a top 8 team?
      3) what are people's thoughts on Depay? way to much hype from international sources to be ignored i would have imagined but i am seeing myself downgrade him for a more reliable mid priced player

thanks for reading guys....i'll try to contribute a lot more than normal now that i have made the leap :-)"

        1) Because he is relatively cheap, plays for a team that was really defensively concistent last season and has pretty decent fixtures the first 5 gameweeks

        2) The main reason people have Wanyama is because he is really cheap and plays about all the games for Southampton, which makes him a good sub getting 2-3 points every gameweek.

        3) Depay seems really promising and it seems like Van Gaal has faith in him. Personally I think I will wait and see if he delivers before bringing him in. It may be hard for such a young, technical foreign player to perform from the start in the BPL, and he may need a few weeks until he is setteled.

        Hope this helped 🙂

Cedric- I've considered him. I like to steer clear of new signings for the first few weeks, but he has had a very strong preseason, he performed well in their Europa League match, he's attack minded, Southampton have a favourable start to the season and they tend to be solid defensively. He is probably one of the few new PL signings that I would consider taking the risk on at 5M.

Depay seems to be the other new PL signing that many are taking a risk on. He's performed well for the national team and has been outstanding in preseason. With the lack of strikers at Utd, Depay and Rooney look to be the main goal scorers. He's listed as a MF but will be playing more of a striker role with Rooney. He's not cheap, but he does look worth the risk. Many seem to be either going for him or Sterling. At 9M Sterling is pricey but with Aguero out, he his likely to be more of striker for City to start the season and with the quality around him, he's likely to produce a nice return on points, but again, preseason form doesn't always carry into the season. Both sides have similar starts to the season that are rather favourable.

I would be worried with your defense, you'll struggle if you need to rotate. Targett doesn't look to get much playing time and Mariappa, well Palace have a tough start to the season. I'd change those two out. Yoshida/O'Shea and S. Taylor would probably be the better options unless you can find an extra .5-1m to better S. Taylor.

I'm still considering 2 arsenal players in MF myself. Theo looks like a good option but I'm still not convinced he'll be a regular starter. I went with Cazorla, but I like Ozil too. Like you said, Wanyama won't really get you many points, but you're not going to find attacking MF options at 4.5m. I'd say you're better off giving up one of Depay/Ozil/Walcott and getting two players at 5.5/6M. Than there is Defoe- not sure what kind of return you'll get there. If you have that weak of a striker you can't afford to have a Wanyama in MF and those 2 poor defenders because you're likely to play a 4-4-2 or 3-5-2.

It's a good start, but you need some more balance. I'd stay clear of Palace and Everton, especially in regards to defenders. Both have a tough start to the season.

wow, thanks very much for the advise there KABUK.....i'll take it all under advisemnet for sure as i'll defo be performing surgery on my team again.

only guy that i feel is worth sticking by is defoe. i think he will do better this year...for me the cheap striker is between him or fletcher..whoever is more of the guaranteed central striker

one thing i disagree with though is the idea that walcott isnt going to be one of the main starters for arsenal....i think they will either play him through the middle or outwide...either way i think wenger has always had walcott in mind to replace henry...and as stubborn as wenger is i think he may be so sure of it that he sticks with walcott even through bad patches

anyways i am going to gut my team now......and then i will come back with something better hopefully

Hi, this is my first post, be gentle!

Just wondering if there are any obvious faults or weaknesses in my team or if theres is any small changes that would improve my team.

      Guzan, Schmeichel
Ivanovic, Cedric, Distin, Hutton, Van Anholt
      Coqulin, Hazard, Walcott, Wanyama, Brunt
      Aguero, Sakho, Rooney

And yes, I am aware that Aguero is unavailable for the first one or two gameweeks, but i might as well have him now and save one transfer.

You really lack balance. You've gone for the big guns, but it leaves you with a lot of holes.

Def: Ivan and Cedric are good, but I'd stay away from defenders from recently promoted sides. There are better options available at 4.5/5m than what you have. Look at Southamption- I'd take Yoshida over Distin or Hutton anyday.

MF: Hazar and Theo are good. But then you have both Coq and Wanyama, one of them is okay as it will guarantee 2-3 pts when rotation is needed and you have rather strong strikers so you won't need to play all of your MF, but you need another attacking MF to get you points here and there aren't any below 5m.

FW: This looks good. Sakho looks to get the playing time but you could go slightly cheaper here to help yourself in MF Ulloa or Vardy at 6m- you'd probably get a better return with them.

Hope this helps. A lot of my comments are based around learning through similar mistakes.

Anytime. I've actually just swapped Benteke for Sahko. You could also consider giving up Aguero for now. He may not be back until GW3. It might be worth it to get started.

Leaving Aguero out would save me some trouble, I will think about it. Any particular players or teams you have in mind for 4.5/5 mill?

              Thanks for helping 🙂

      Hi guys,

I found this site invaluable last season. You all offer so much and it feels good to be part of the community.

      GKs: Kasper / Guzan

      DFs: Mert / Toby A / Mings / Wisdom / Targett

MF: Hazard / Ozil / Mane / Hendo / Ritchie

FDs: Rooney / Kane / Sakho

      Bank = 0

      RMT score: 324.19

Strategy based on a 5 GW approach, I feel any more than that gets a bit too difficult to predict.

GKs: rotate well with decent opening 5 GWs between them

DFs: Mert is the 'premium' that can be switched for quite a few other decent DFs, Toby A is another reasonably priced DF that can be easily transferred. Both are in decent teams and should get reasonable CS (Toby has decent goal potential as well). The plan was to have a premium that plays every game and 4 rotators so there will always be at least 2 defenders at home ie Wisdom / Mings and Targett / Toby A. I know you warned about having a 4 mil DF, but I think he might get a mini price rise it Southampton CS in GW 1 or 2 to protect from that and I can't see any other way of getting in on their defence. My defence is definitely weak though and I'm open to any suggestions on how to balance it out, as GW2 + Gw 3 don't look promising.

MF: after having Fab + Costa in my early drafts I decided that Hazard made better sense. It avoids the headache of whether Costa will be fit, gives me the best Chelsea coverage with an easy captain choice and he's a nice price to trade with Sanchez if required. I'm a massive fan of Ramsey / Walcott but I feel that Ozil is the safest option. Mane gives the important Southampton coverage. Henderson (although tempted by Milner) has good potential, despite the fixtures and is an okay price to trade out for someone like Chadli / Tadic / CP MF later on. Ritchie rotates well with Sakho and gives good Bournemouth attcking coverage.

FDs: unless Utd pull something out of the bag he's their only real striker with an abundance of talent supplying him. Last time he player up top he scored well. I have reservations about Kane, but can't think of a better alternative and he's their only real forward. Sakho proved himself last year, WH are going to play more attacking and have great fixtures. With Valencia out there's less chance of rotation as well.

I'm fairly happy with the front 8, just have reservations about the back. Any suggestions will be more than welcome.

      Thanks

I've updated my team after some suggestions and having a look around.

      Stekelenburg
      Bellerin//Yoshida//Azpilicueta
      Sinclair//Cazorla//Hazard(C)//Ritchie//Sterling
      Pelle//Rooney(VC)

      Bench: Butland//Sakho//O'Shea//Jenkinson

I'm still considering whether or not to keep Sterling. He will play and with Aguero out, I expect to be key in the first few weeks. I'll eventually want Alexis. I had Ox but opted to go for just one Arsenal MF although he would be much cheaper than Sterling and he should start. He's looked the part this preseason, but I think I'll wait. I've also considered Depay who also looks the part. Yes, he is new to the PL, but he's also played well for the national team and in preseason. I really like this kid, but will he perform from the start- I do think he's likely to start strong and then fade in the second half of the season and with Rooney playing as the CF, he'll be the 2nd striker and should get both goals and assists. The dilema- Sterling is a proven PL, although last season wasn't his best and Depay looks like he could outperform Sterling.

As for my strikers, I think this season will be big for Rooney, especially if he is given the CF role week in and week out- currently the only option. He loves that role and he has a much better MF around him now. I'm still not sure about Pelle. I think he'll get points but I'm wondering if I do swap Sterling for a cheaper player if I might be better off with a different striker. I had Benteke, but I'm not sure how he'll perform for L'pool, they haven't had the best luck with the strikers they've brought in. I swapped out Benteke for Sahko who should be a regular starter with their 2 strikers injured, and bar their 1st match, they have a favourable start to the season.

I have no money in the bank, so several swaps will have to be had in order to improve. I'm really stuck on the Sterling dilemma and a quality mid-price striker.
