Fantasy Bet

Fantasy Bet Focus – Gameweek 3

We turn our attentions to Fantasy Bet this evening as I continue my quest to turn my £100 pot into profit.

For those unfamiliar, the initial player prices and scoring system in Fantasy Bet are very similar to Fantasy Premier League, making it an accessible weekly and daily format for those who pay a lot of attention to the official game.

This week in Fantasy Bet there is a Fantasy Football Scout league with an impressive £500 guaranteed pot on offer for a rather reasonable entry fee of only £0.55. This league covers all ten fixtures and I will be entering a Scout Picks team into the mix. There’s also a £100 free-roll available – I’ve gone 3-5-2 here and stocked up on midfielders mentioned in the Weekly Shop article, with Memphis Depay, Yohan Cabaye and Nathan Redmond all finding a spot alongside in-form Dimitri Payet and Riyad Mahrez.

The Bottom Line

Before I explain the competitions I’ll be entering this week in Fantasy Bet, I recap here how I got on over the previous set of fixtures. A disappointing start last week to my Fantasy Bet season was mainly down to being a single point off the money in the Saturday DoubleUp, narrowly losing out in 5th place. An extra point in that game would likely have kicked the challenge off with a positive balance, however the £7.70 stake was still offset by £4.75 of winnings, leaving me only £2.95 down for the week. Even a position of 134th in the Freeroll game provided some winnings, granted it was only £0.55 but it shows even an average result can bring rewards.

This Week’s Stake

Weekly games – For £0.55 I’ve entered the Scout Picks into the FFScout £500 GTD league, though there are some alterations due to budget and I also pick a captain.

I’ve also entered a team into the £100 Freeroll and another into the £50 Flash Freeroll game, this format requires the competitor to pick their team within 3 minutes – any gaps left are then filled with auto-complete.

I’ve also parted with £1.10 to enter a Head to Head contest with two other players – this is a Winner Takes All game.

Daily games – After coming so close to the money places last week I’ll also be entering the Saturday DoubleUp once again, this contest costs £3.30 to enter.

Total Stake: £4.95

FFScout League

As mentioned, Fantasy Bet have now made the opportunity for the community to take on the scout picks much more enticing with a £500 guaranteed pot this week. With only a £0.55 entry fee required to have a shot at beating the scouts, the winner’s team will be posted here in the next article.

Bateman’s team won last week with an excellent score of 69 points, Dimitri Payet, Nathaniel Clyne, Sergio Romero and his captain Christian Benteke all bringing in 8 or more points each. Fantasy Football Scout’s Mark managed a very respectable second place finished with 64 points.

I've gone for Sakho and Payet. Over the season it's a better option and for gw3 it Also looks like a slightly better option

I have them both as well but if Sakho keeps blanking he will be out soon, he better do some work against Bourne this weekend

Sakho's also 1m cheaper. Could come in handy somewhere else.

    Who to captain?

    A) Payet
    B) Aguero

Leaning towards A as Payet will be involved in most of West Ham's goals, is on great form and has a nice easy home fixture

West Brom's move for Tottenham defender Federico Fazio has broken down after the deal stalled over personal terms.

The defender was at the club's training ground this morning after a £5m deal with Spurs was agreed.

He passed the medical but Albion have been unable to reach an agreement with Fazio and are now actively pursuing other targets.

It is understood the transfer could potentially be revived as a loan deal.

Nice, consider Diouf/Sakho over Benteke? More money + better fixtures

Also, Kolarov -> Sagna would save you money unless you want possible assists/free kicks.

Maybe a little crazy not to have a single chelsea player, jose will be furious and demand results, hardly think they will drop many more points this early

I don't think you could afford anyone unless you shipped somebody.

If you shipped Benteke to Diouf would save you 2m, you could possibly get Willian or Azpi.

    What about this defence:

    Kolarov, Azpi, Gomez, Cathcart, Francis

    - Kola-Azpi every week
    - Gomez for the upcoming home games
    - Cathcart/Francis when not picking Gomez

Finally, somone seeing sense with Azpi

Consider a UTD/WHM defender? don't think its likely Catchart/francis will keep you CS

Have had Darmian in many drafts. But not sure Utd will stay this strong vs better teams.

Cathcart/Francis rotates. Will hopefully get a CS now and then.

One bad game and Pelle has suddenly disapeared from rmts.

Stats are still good and I like the look of their fixtures in next 3.

Ideally Mane & Payet, which is why I've gone 3-5-2

This is why I'm struggling. Want to keep 3-4-3 because of Gomis, but there's a few benefits of 3-5-2 right now. That said, we always without fail end up on 3-4-3.

Oh I have Gomis too. He's my 2nd striker alongside Aguero

I find it hard to jump ship on all my previous plans, despite having activated the WC.
Having dumped Rooney, Depay, Mané and Sakho, i am now having second tought.
My WC team has pretty much been the template on here, but i'm considering a few last minute changes. What do you think about the following (deviations from the template) WC team?

    Butland - Schmeich
    Kolarov - Darmian - Williams - Richards - Ward
    Sanchez - Silva - MANÉ - Mahrez - Westwood
    Aguero - Gomis - SAKHO

If i go with the template Payet + Diouf, I'll have 0.6 in the bank.
I feel like Mané and Sakho can punish a few sellers in the coming weeks.

I like with Payet and Diouf more

      Kolarov + Richards -> Sagna + Shaw/Williams ?

        Alright, thanks.

I like my current defence. Already have Darmian and Williams.

Sorry lol, in that case looks very good.

          Maybe Ward -> Jenkinson?

But if you like it, keep it, looks good

I like Kolarov - Darmian - Williams. The other two is subject to change.
            Thanks for the suggestion 🙂

Mane and Sakho probably will - but Payet being on set pieces is the reason I'm struggling. Plus he's just everywhere atm.

Saw him (Payet) in GW1 and was instantly impressed.
But then i saw some wasteful numbers in the member article the other day.

Difficult choice. I think I'll give Manè and Sakho 1-2 more weeks. Mané -> Payet is an easy transfer.
