FFS Cup

The Fantasy Football Scout Cups – Entry Now Open

Fantasy Football Scout is pleased to announce two new Fantasy Premier League cup competitions.

First of all, we roll out the twelfth instalment of our open-to-all cup competition. This is your chance to join our previous winners – donnellyc, Jonty, Gribude, Goonerdave, Ninja_Fit_Saints, sleeping master, Mch, Wild Rover, Tdubb05 , CMIFLFC and our reigning champion Mark (no, really) in on our Cup hall of fame.

We’ve also opened entry for the sixth instalment of the Fantasy Football Scout Members Cup, as Waltzingmatildas looks to defend their title. Fuzzy Dunlop, Kippax Kickers , Acquafresca and Trigg were our other previous winners of this tournament.

If you’re familiar with our competitions you can get your entries in right now via the links below. If you’re new to all this, read on for an FAQ on the competitions.

Enter the Fantasy Football Scout Cup XII via the entry form here.

Members can also enter the Fantasy Football Scout Members Cup VI via this entry form.

How do the cup competitions work?

Our cup competitions are very similar to the Fantasy Premier League’s Fantasy Cup game. Entrants who qualify for the first round will be randomly drawn against each other and the winner of the tie is whoever has the highest score from that Gameweek, minus points spent on transfers (like in the original game and in head-to-head scores). In the event of a tie, the manager highest in the overall standings will progress.

When do they start?

The qualifying rounds for both cups will take place in Gameweek 22, with the first rounds running on Gameweek 23.

Fantasy managers can enter their teams from now right up to Tuesday January 19, when we’ll stop entry and will be drawing the first round ties from the qualifiers.

There will be 512 qualifiers for the Members Cup and 1024 for the Fantasy Football Scout Cup – depending on the number of entries. All our previous winners who enter will gain a bye into the first round draw where they will join the top scorers from Gameweek 22.

FPL standing will decide who progresses in the event of tied positions. The same rules apply in the Members Cup

How do I enter?

Enter the Fantasy Football Scout Cup XII via the entry form here.

Members can also enter the Members Cup VI via this entry form.

In both cases you will be sent a confirmation email to verify your entry and you’ll be asked to confirm your FPL team id at the point of entry – please be sure to click the link to verify that your team is correct before confirming.

To check that you’re entered correctly, please scan the list of current entries.

The Fantasy Football Scout Cup entry list can be found here.

The Fantasy Football Scout Members Cup entry list can be found here.

When will I find out if I’ve qualified?

Results from the qualifying rounds of both cups will be published on or around January 20 and then weekly from that point on.

What is the Gameweek Schedule?

These Cup competitions will be played out according to the following Gameweek schedule:

The fixture list for each round of both cups will be published a day or two before each Gameweek deadline.

Are there prizes?

Both Cup competitions offer the following prizes:
Winner: £200 Amazon Voucher
Runner Up: £100 Amazon Voucher

Do I have to enter if I’m previous winner?

Yes, because your FPL team ID will have changed, we will need to record your entry again. As a previous winner, you will be given a bye to the first round proper.

Do I need to be registered with Fantasy Football Scout?

We ask you to supply a FFScout username so we can feature you, as a member of our community, in any articles associated with the tournament. Ideally, you will already have a username with us but this is not essential to enter (although it is for the Members Cup) – you must, however, supply a username for the purpose of the tournament so you can be identified in articles. You must not change this username throughout the course of the tournament, should you do so without permission, or should you enter multiple teams or if your FFS account comes under moderation for any reason, we reserve the right to remove you from a tournament.

Really hoping Coutinho is going to turn it ON against Sunderland.

However, as an owner have found he actually does better against the bigger teams...hopefully the big game mentality will be in order as its the only game of the day/at night.

Let's hope so. I was tempted to get Ramsey or Walcott, but after they blanked I'm glad I didn't.

Guys, what changes would you suggest with 1 FT & 2.2m itb?

    Butland
    Moreno / Bellerin / Toby
    Mahrez / KDB / Ozil / Wijnaldum
    Lukaku / Kane / Aguero
    (Mccarthy / Ward / Surman / Targett)

Wijnaldum is the problem, away to Arsenal and he or his team have no form.

2 FTs, 5.6 ITB, no idea what to do. Ramsey and Silva have now become placeholders for Payet and Sanchez, any other ideas?

    Myhill

    Bellerin, Smalling, Simpson

    Ramsey, Ozil, Mahrez, Silva

    Igahlo, Kane, Lukaku

    Henessey, Alli, Rose, Ward

Given that Bellerin could be rested, maybe swap Ward or Rose out? No idea who for though

      Sweet team.

Maybe think about the future and get Williams in for one of Rose and Ward? Palace are doing really well but Spurs' defensive schedule is pretty stiff, so potentially do Rose --> Williams?

They don't have enough fit players to rotate and they have a two week break after Newcastle . It's like a witch hunt on here tbh . The mentality on here also seems to be if I don't own a player I have to talk him down as much as possible . Agree ?

Cabaye finally playing more advanced for Palace due to injuries. http://members.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/matches/803350/

And the reason I got him in the hope he would play there for UFPL pts.

    Statistic Value Points

    Minutes played 90 2
    Clean sheets 1 1
    Yellow cards 1 -1
    Crosses 3 1
    Key passes 4 1
    Big chances created 1 1

Total 5 pts for being a great player even with a booking.

Pardew would do well to leave him there.

Ok , But really been trying to ask you something else ?

Benteke Cpt in UFPL tonight ?

No brainer for me , Take off Kun , but You ?

      1. Dr Dream
        • 11 Years
        8 years, 5 months ago

I think I have to play him at least...I have Benteke and Coutinho available for (-8)..very risky though.

Cabaye Pedro Silva and KDB all delivered 4/5 pts despite blanking...a bit akward that is.

Imagine Cabaye with assists/goals on those stats..he'd be fantastic.

Yeah - but I didn't think Everton Stoke would explode this week!!!

Just do what you think is best for the week - if you have a good feeling about Wolly, get him in. I cashed out on Kolarov a few weeks ago because of the rotation risk, so if that's what you think is best I think that's good reasoning.

In my books its tactical management, it makes sense to me say Lloris plays Sunderland and butland plays Arsenal , it's nip to have an equally capable keeper to step in and bank dem cleans sheets

          • 8 Years

          Not nip nice

    2. Individual

      - GK rotation isn't my way of playing. Might be yours, but I see it as a headache. 1 goal is all it takes to make you pull your hair out
      - Def rotation is also tough, and it's really expensive!!
      - Payet is fine for now, but if one of your others don't play you're relying on your defenders to come in.

      so:

Maybe NOT Lloris (downgrade to Hennessey and bench perpetually)
Maybe NOT Moreno (downgrade to Simpson to keep money ITB)
Maybe NOT Payet (get a playing low grade mf)

Then have the money for Payet when he's definitely back, plus you have the money to respond to further players becoming hot.

Pick two of these to join Bellerin in my back line this GW. Please 🙂

    Dawson (STK)
    Moreno (whu)
    Sagna (wat)
    Simpson (BOU)
Sagna --> someone using FT and play them

Probably not your finest transfer, but we'll see. Benteke just seems to lack confidence, which was shown by the fact that he didn't put the ball to an empty net from 20 meters out and had to dribble it in.

Kun. Is the stand out player in the whole league. Can explode at any time. If he gets one, two or more this weekend, everyone will be tearing their teams up to get him in.

Now, I am disappointed with his (c) performance this week for me, and with Pelli's comments that he doesnt want him tonhave over 65 mins until the New Year, but I took an early punt on him because it's Kun. Will I ship him back out again now ? Absolutely not. He now has 65 mins against Watford, followed by the League Cup semi and then the FA Cup 3rd round. If he survives that little lot, he will be fully fit for the fixtures thereafter, and still in my team, hopefully with a few goals already in the bank. But if he fails again, no big deal, it's an easy trade down in price....

      Agreed brother.

I made a mistake in placing a lot of trust in him, but he's a massive differential at the moment - the time he does get his @rse in gear and get that hattie you'll have huge pts that the cautious won't see.

Plus it takes a lot of surgery (I'm hit averse) to remove him and then redistribute the funds.

Hold out until the glassman shatters again!

And whilst you are holding on waitng for him to come to fitness and form other managers are pulling away with the like's of Kane/Giroud/Lukaku/Ighalo and Vardy. I am not criticising i am just stating you are giving others the platform to pull away from you.

What annoys me more is that he didn't get a blatantly penalty, yet you have all the fools appear from the woodwork with their idiocy and hindsight.

Same thing with Hazard a while back where I brought him in for a punt against Bournemouth. A handball wasn't given and left Hazard with 2 points rather than a possible 10. Unbelievable really.

Given Watford's good form and Everton's defensive troubles, does it make sense to bench De Bruyne and play Eriksen?

The Belgian scored only 1 goal in 7(!) away games this season in the PL and registered 0 assists.

I could also play Evans (STK) ahead of both...

If you need a suggestion, pick a defender you won't use (i.e. 5th sub) and then transfer him out for a player with good fixtures like Williams.

Maybe that's it RCA. I think i'm trying to read too much into it. I'll just be like fred and just do things. Never ask questions or wonder. Perfect stormtrooper material

I have Cresswell and VVD and will bench one and transfer one out.

Cresswell: Liverpool H (bench), Bournemouth A, Newcastle A

VVD: Norwich A (bench), Watford H, West Brom H

        Who should l transfer out?

This post made me chuckle because these are one of the two players I finally might ditch Richards for...

NEITHER! Both are transfer targets for many!

Save your FT if you have both.
