FA Cup Third Round Team News

With the FA Cup Third Round set to get underway later this evening, there’s been a raft of press conferences taking place over the last 24 hours. Here’s the main news coming out of the Premier League camps so far..

Phil Jagielka is set to start Everton’s clash with Dagenham and Redbridge as he steps up his recovery from injury. Seamus Coleman, Tom Cleverley and Romelu Lukaku are ruled out for the Toffees, though Roberto Martinez has confirmed the latter is reacting well to treatment after being forced off with an ankle knock against City in midweek.

Alexis Sanchez remains sidelined for Arsenal’s clash with Sunderland, Arsene Wenger has confirmed. The Chilean will also miss the midweek league trip to Liverpool but could be back in time for next weekend’s Gameweek 22 encounter with Stoke. Mikel Arteta is available to face the Black Cats, whilst Tomas Rosicky will return to full training next week.

Alan Hutton, Carlos Sanchez and Gabby Agbonlahor are all doubts for Villa’s clash with Wycombe tomorrow afternoon. Winger Adama Traore has been ruled out for eight-to-ten weeks with a broken bone in his foot.

Philippe Coutinho, Dejan Lovren and Kolo Toure have all been ruled out of Liverpool’s encounter with Exeter tonight. Whilst Toure is expected back for the midweek visit of Arsenal, Lovren is likely to miss the next two league matches, whilst Coutinho is set to be sidelined for around three weeks, according to Jurgen Klopp. Jordon Ibe is also set to miss out after becoming the latest Liverpool player to sustain a hamstring injury.

Slaven Bilic has revealed that Manuel Lanzini is expected to be out “for two or three weeks” with the groin problem sustained against Liverpool. Winston Reid is back in full training for the Hammers, whilst Victor Moses is set to return to training after the weekend.

Yohan Cabaye returns from a one-match suspension for Palace’s clash with Southampton. Alan Pardew has talked up the fit-again Bakary Sako and revealed he also hopes to have Connor Wickham and Dwight Gayle available for the Gameweek 21 trip to Villa on Tuesday evening.

Graziano Pelle is set to miss Southampton’s cup clash with Palace, Ronald Koeman has confirmed. The Italian has a chance of making the midweek match against Watford, though, as he steps up his recovery from a knee problem. Victor Wanyama serves the first of a two-match ban this weekend, Cedric Soares is fit for selection once again and Sadio Mane will return to the starting XI after being dropped last week for disciplinary reasons. Koeman also revealed that Frazer Forster remains out this weekend – the keeper will be assessed after he plays for the reserves again on Monday before a decision is made over his first-team return.

Geoff Cameron is a doubt for Stoke’s match with Doncaster after picking up an ankle problem in training. Mark Hughes also has concerns over Phil Bardsley (groin) and Stephen Ireland (thigh).

Sam Allardyce has hinted at rotation ahead of Sunderland’s trip to the Emirates. Jack Rodwell, Younes Kaboul, Seb Larsson and Adam Matthews remain sidelined through injury for the Black Cats.

Quique Sanchez Flores has revealed he won’t make too many alterations for Watford’s showdown with Newcastle, though the Watford boss conceded it’s possible he will rest “at least one” of Odion Ighalo and Troy Deeney.

Eddie Howe has revealed that Josh King was forced off with a niggle against Leicester last week and will continue to be monitored. The Bournemouth boss also confirmed his side are yet to receive a work permit for new boy Juan Iturbe.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Chaps / Chapesses, alternative 5th mid to Stanislas is Alex Tettey @4.3m.

Didn't think of him when I made my Aguero move earlier in the week, but he's great and capable of this.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18ypx2NinTw

Flying under the radar at the minute despite outperforming KdB, Arnie, Oscar over the last 6.

One might say he's scored his annual 2 goals for the season, yes 🙂 Or he could be going through a Yaya-esque purple patch.

What do you want for 4.3m exactly?

I dont want a 4.3m midfielder period.. + i believe there are better fantasy options at that price range.. Watson - good corner taker, very capable of getting assist and scoring directly from corners, Gosling - good underlying stats, takes lots of shots in the box for 4.4m midfielder, Stanislas - i've seen him score a brace, looks nailed on now.. all of those guys i can see scoring again, i cant see tetty scoring again.

I guess what i want for 4.3m is hope for future returns.. something about the player.. a fizz.. Tetty doesnt give me that fizz

the other alternative is WIlliams who obviously has more BAP potential and is nailed, but I could do with saving a bit of cash to make a Sanchez reshuffle a bit easier in the coming weeks

    Dann Monreal Wolly
    Özil Mahrez Silva Alli {VC}
    Kane Lukaku Aguero {C}

    (Myhill Walker Gosling Moreno)

Would appreciate some thoughts on the team for the upcoming gameweek. More importantly, am I benching the right players? Have been contemplating playing Walker over Monreal though I have Mahrez. Thanks guys.

the festive period was anything but festive when it came to my defence.

gw16: left with 2 defenders. clean sheet for bellerin but this simply annoys me as i sold koscielny for smalling when coquelin got injured 2 weeks before. smalling misses his only game of the season, koscielny gets 8 points.

gw17: in comes zouma for sunderland at home, nada. smalling thankfully returns for norwich at home, nada. rose ill for tottenham clean sheet.

gw18: correctly bench smalling for stoke away, but rose missing tottenham's clean sheet against norwich means smalling comes in anyway. i started zouma against watford, benching ighalo. my logic being i want ighalo in my team if cahill starts, and visa versa. zouma missed out so i got ighao's 6 points. the good fortune there was zouma not getting a few inutes late on.

gw19: sell zouma as the new manager has shown he'll start cahill in games, also chelsea conceded in the 2 games i had zouma anyway so they probably can't be trusted still. zouma starts and chelsea keep a first clean sheet in 3 matches. smalling also gets benched after scores of 1,1 in the previous 2 matches. he keeps a first clean sheet in 3 matches. rose starts for the first time in 3 matches, i play him and tottenham concede for the first time in 3 matches. i bench kolarov for the first time all season as with kompany out, leicester normally scoring, card threat marking mahrez and clichy lurking i think there's a big chance he neither starts nor keeps a clean sheet. clichy picks up a knock in training and man city keep their first clean sheet since gw12. sakho was bought in for zouma, it was between him and fellow 4.7mil man fuchs. so whilst this seemed like a successful buy at the time with sakho beating zouma 8-6 it only lasts a few days as fuchs (who also got 8 points this week) goes on to get a clean sheet the week after, as does zouma, whilst sakho concedes and gets injured.

gw20: rose doesn't start and tottenham don't keep a clean sheet. hooray! bellerin is my only clean sheet again with smalling conceding in another really juicy home game. again i can't even be happy with the 1 clean sheet as on top of being so massively owned anyway that simply annoys me as i sold koscielny for smalling, 15 point koscielny. i correctly bench kolarov for once and can't believe my luck when he scores an own goal giving my own team the lead. he then of course gets an assist anyway meaning that on top of hurting watford he finishes on a higher score than sakho who i played instead of him. sagna puts in a delicious cross to complete the comeback, nice back to back scores for him. i think back and realise (a long time ago admittedly) that sagna was the guy i sold for my nemesis danny rose.

still convinced he's a great option. but that relies on him both starting and finding his normal form. one of the things which struck me most about the watford tottenham game was how disappointing rose looked. his delivery was poor and he didn't look quick at all. i'm wondering if he has physical issues lurking

Arsenals last 5 games against Sunderland:

    Sunderland Vs Arsenal (1-3) W
    Arsenal Vs Sunderland (4-1) W
    Sunderland Vs Arsenal (0-2) W
    Arsenal vs Sunderland (0-0) D
    Arsenal Vs Sunderland (3-1) W

So we are unbeaten in 5, lets keep it that way. I'm hoping for a strong performance and hopefully see some young faces get a run out.

What should I do here folks? Ramsey --> Payet perhaps? But then, I'm left with benching headaches due to Alli. Benched him for his last two goals, infuriating.

      Quite unanimous.

I actually wanted to move Ramsey out of my team, but I moved Barkley on instead. And with Liverpool depleted by injuries I figured I would give Ramsey another chance. He was unlucky last gameweek(s), he really should have returned at least a goal or an assist. SIlva does play at home, but he doesn't seem that involved and I fear Aguero and KDB may score higher than Silva's obligatory assist. He hasn't been that involved, and if anyone benefitted from his return it's Toure.

Considering I can field a decent midfield this week I will hold off on Siggy, I wanted to get him.

That isn't very clear, I meant I was burnt last time I benched mahrez and more risky due to his his ownership so makes sense to bench ramsey in that respect.

I need to play 3 of the below 4

    Bellerin (liv)
    Toby (LEI)
    Dawson (che)
    Moreno (ARS)

I'm definitely gonna go with Bellerin & Toby, but I'm not at all convinced with either Dawson or Moreno.

Dawson has improving fixtures after Arsenal so I think I'm gonna hold onto him.

Moreno on the other hand is in a Liverpool defense which is non existent, so I'm very tempted to have a punt and bring in either Cresswell, Williams or even Rangel for a -4 as I think this could pay off over the next few (possibly even this GW).

    Should I stick or twist?

    A) Stick - play Dawson
    B) Stick - play Moreno
    C) Twist - swap Moreno for Cresswell
    D) Twist - swap Moreno for Williams
    E) Twist - swap Moreno for Rangel (will free up some funds for a potential Sanchez reshuffle over the next few weeks)

    DDG
    Cresswell Bellerin Nyom
    Ozil Mahrez Yaya Arnoutavic(C)
    Giroud Lukaku Ighalo

    Myhill Mahrez Moreno Dawson

    4.9 ITB 1 FT

Stuck as to who to bench.. I’ve never benched Mahrez before but the last two times I have benched Alli he has got over 10 points in both games.

What to do with my free transfer?

Is it worth Giroud > Kun?

Would you rather Smalling or Ivanovic for the foreseeable? Bought Smalling last week, but am having second thoughts now and thinking about switching to Ivan.

      Ivan.

I don't own any Chelsea and I have DDG, I have zero inclination to swap DDG for Courtois but Ivan loves playing for Hiddink.

The swap worth a transfer you think? Rest of team is in pretty good shape

In the RMT area, is it possible to have your own numbers?
