The ScoutCast – Episode 191 – Penultimate

One more Gameweek. One more ScoutCast. The final whistle has almost blown on a remarkable season but we’re determined to fully exploit the final throws.

I’m joined by Jonty, Andy and Luke as we open a bumper 80-minute show with our dedication to Leicester City’s extraordinary title win. We then quickly shift to take on another raft of community questions as thoughts turn to Gameweek 37’s double fixtures.

We run the rule over the protagonists, assessing West Ham’s assets, Eden Hazard’s renaissance and even make an attempt to find a reason to make a late investment in Norwich City. Then necks are put on the block as we review the weekend fixtures, coming clean on our current double Gameweek transfer and captaincy plans.

The ScoutCast is first aired live on our YouTube channel on Wednesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get a heads up on future broadcasts.

    Kane to:
    a) Sturridge
    b) Costa
    c) Carroll

    Leaning towards A currently.

A might not play much, probably won't play GW38 anyway. (purely speculation on my part)

I might consider doubling w/ Valencia. If you don't have the extra .2 then PvA. Cuz Sunderland have to win means they may be vulnerable to goals, and no sheets. MU could easily play 0-0, or 1-0. IMO GL

After some of your decent advice chaps. Leading in my money league by a mere 14 points. Have 1 FT and 0.5m ITB

    Robles
    Bellerin - Gabriel - PVA
    Mahrez - Coutinho - Payet - Sanchez
    Aguero - Kane - Sturridge

    (Darlow - Loft C - Simpson - Delaney)

Coutinho to Fabregas if you're planning to make just 1 transfer. Otherwise would be good to fit Hazard in. 😉

Cheers mate - do you think Cout will be rested? Was thinking below for -4?

        Mahrez > Hazard

I believe most of the LIVteam will be rested as seen before, now that they're in finals even more so.

I see more goals in LEI:EVE than LIV:CHE so I'd still let Coutinho go before Mahrez. But listen to your gut feeling. If you think Coutinho will get more points than Mahrez, you should go for it. I got rid of Coutinho because I'm tired of this rotation nonsense.

Good luck, whatever you choose to go for.

Similar issue as me, Bobby (your thoughts would be appreciated!)

Be tempted to take a punt on Olsson at Norwich for Delaney and benching Gabby here, given your budget restraints. Strong blend of sgwers and dgwers there otherwise.

No worries - I'm not convinced by Norwich either.

Tbh mate looking at your team you should probably think about getting another defender in alongside PvA and Bellerin, and then perhaps sacrificing one of Kane or Aguero for Carroll to maximise points. Maybe Kane --> Carrol and then Delaney --> Cresswelll/Reid?

I am trying to get rid of Coutinho as you've seen but have the defender to cover off that area in Toby.

    Morning ladies and gents!

Liverpool last night has led me to strongly consider rolling the dice on Hazard in for Coutinho rather than the more sensible option of a sgw defender out for Cresswell.

    Leaves me with this team:

    Robles*
    Toby Bellerin PvA*
    Hazard* Payet(TC)* Townsend Lanzini*
    Deeney* Kane Lukaku*

    Darlow / Sanchez Morgan Gabby

(-4; Alli out for Payet and Coutinho out for Hazard)

Good to go we reckon? Am 23 points ahead (well 19 after hit) in ML so don't want the -8!

    Thanks in advance 🙂

    Robles
    Smalling Cresswell Simpson
    Hazard Payet Coutinho Lallana
    Kane Carroll Deeney

    Darlow Ozil Bellerin Gabriel

Would you do any of the following for a -8?

    A)
    GW37: Coutinho > Fabregas/Barkley
    GW38: Ozil > Sanchez

    B)

Really good team already, clear weakness is Coutinho and Lallana both in the team. As Lallana played the full 90 vs. Villlareal he's marginally less likely to feature vs. Watford so you have to assume he's the man who should go.

Can you afford Lallana --> Fab?

I'd also consider playing Bellerin vs. City. No Kompany for them, Arsenal beat them at the Etihad last year and also they will be quite tired after the UCL. Full backs will rotate so Bellerin will get space in behind a perpetually marauding Kolarov.

      Hope that helps!

I see. I'd be tempted by Barkley actually if you don't have any Everton attacking "cover" because I think Everton will score vs. Lei and I also think Nor will be down by the time they play each other.

Wow chump change there really. Maybe Mirallas will get game time now that Deulefeu is injured, and Lennon seems to be nailed, but neither are really producing.

Tbh I'd be tempted to go mad and look at someone like Brady/Redmond at Norwich, or maybe even Khazri at Sunderland, as these are the players with the motivation..

Is it one option for a -8 or both for a -8? If both then yeh why not, I've done similar already with Ageuro>Carroll and Alli>Hazard.

I'm going crazy - just considered getting Ibe in as Lallana replacement!

Mate I've just gone for it and done the -8 - can't decide so why not do both in a dgw.

                        Here's my team:

                        Robles*
                        PvA* Toby Bellerin
                        Hazard* Payet(TC)* Lanzini* Townsend
                        Carroll* Deeney* Lukaku*

                        Darlow / Sanch Morgan Gabs

lol... such a bad team in any other scenario 🙂

Nice team, I'm thinking Payet for TC too, even with Carroll.

Maybe I will just get Townsend as he could get a brace vs Villa... did you have Deeney for his Villa haul?

Im thinking of doing Kane > Carroll for a -4 as my chaser doesnt have kane.

Would mean i only have a 1 point lead though

    My team..

    Robles (Darlow)
    Smalling VanAan Delaney (Bellerin Gabriel)
Mahrez Townsend Coutinho Payet (tc) (Sanchez)
    Rashford Aguero Kane

My lead is over this team... (he has no chips)

    DeGea Hennessey
    Bellerin Fuchs VanAan Dawson Fosu-Mensah
    Payet Mahrez Iwobi Sanchez COutinho
    Aguero Rashford Defoe

What do you guys think? worth it? Will Carroll outscore kane by 4 over 2 games

Asking a bit much I imagine but any inkling in the slightest what chances Milner has of playing enough in the double to make it worth playing him ahead of Sanchez?

Milner (WAT, CHE) is probably better than Sanchez (mci)

Milner (CHE) changes the equation somewhat...

Guys i really need your help!

I have 2FT and my triple captain.

    My team is:

    DDG
    Clyne, Fosu-Mensah, Reid
    Payet, Sanchez, Iwobi, Coutinho
    Kane, Aguero, Martial

    Bench: Alli, Delaney, Bellerin, Hennessey

Thinking to take out Alli and Bellerin/FM?

    Any suggestions please?!

What's the consensus on Sturridge and Coutinho?

Likely to start the 2 games in the DGW?

EL final is on 19th May.

Does anyone think that they play the next 2 home games and then rested on the last day of the season away at WBA?

him having vardy might haunt you, just hope an pray caroll scores more than 2 over two games and you'll have more than a chance to overtake. his BB wont mean anything if his bench is injured

        • 8 Years
        8 years, 6 days ago

Yeah...I'm hoping his injured players slow him down. Wondering if I should take a 4 or 8 point though to bring in some more double game week players like Aguero/Kane > Defoe/Deeney, Firminio/Lanzini > Hazard/Fabregas, Sahko > Van Aanolt/Ivanovic. What do you think? The main problem is picking players that do not play each other...

Fancying Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for the DGW. Yeah he hasn't been starting very much, but LVG says he will rotate, so 90mins could be on the way. Plus we know he is dynamite off the bench anyway, so I don't see that as a huge issue

Yeah I hear what you're saying Jazz. Thoughts on Rooney as utd option. I know he's playing a more midfield role, but has made a fair amount of goal attempts. SIB pretty low though.

Wouldn't go near him. He plays a holding CM role now pretty much, never goes into the box. Rarely even shoots now, occasionally goes for the 30 yard shot but he's never in the box so no imo.

He's playing well there, too - I think it's the future. I would expect he'd be a mid next season which will be worthy of consideration, although his price may still be at a premium.

Have Carroll, Sturridge and Aguero at the mo. Could sell Aguero, that would give me fund a plenty. But don't really need that much. Midfield is Sanchez, Hazard, Payet, Iwobi and Loftus - who I want rid of. Loftus to ?

I wouldn't capitalize on Pool players now. I don't think they'll play a lot until the C3 final to be honest; They sure won't play on sunday and they sure won't play on GW38 which is 3 days befiore the C3 final. They might get a game against chelsea but that's far from guaranteed.
