Premier Punt Returns for the New Season

Premier Punt was a regular on our pages last season and, after a summer hiatus, we are delighted to announce it is back and ready to fire over the new campaign.

What is it?

To refresh your memory Premier Punt offers Fantasy managers a range of formats, including daily and weekly games to play.

As with last season, its weekly and daily games ask Fantasy managers to find the best 11 players from a £100m budget. This includes finding a captain and vice captain.

There’s a range of new features as well this season, including a single match format, with six players to pick.

Also new for 2016/17 is the Premier Punt app, which is available on Apple and Android.

What’s more, Premier Punt has also become an official partner of Southampton FC this season.

Why Should I Play?

Premier Punt’s scoring model mimics the Fantasy Premier League’s and translates it directly to its game platform. This makes it easy to use for those familiar with FPL. A key difference is that no bonus points are factored in, but aside from that the team you pick should be on the same principles as FPL, albeit with a wildcard in place each week.

Player prices are also different and set by Premier Punt’s own algorithm, so there is some extra thinking to do rather than simply translating your FPL line up into your Punt XI each time.

How Do I Get Started?

You can register with an account with Premier Punt here, without having to add credit card details or deposit funds.

Once registered, you need to select one of the games on offer – picking the Weekly Game type will give you access to the various tournaments on offer for Gameweek 1.

Simply select the weekly games, then choose your XI and then join up with the contest or “challenge” of your choice.

Among the main weekly game prizes is a £5 entry game with a £1,000 pot. When playing any paid game Fantasy managers can also gain access to a free entry game, which has a £500 pot.

For more information Premier Punt has made this explainer video available. Premier Punt will also provide updates on its latest games and offers via its Facebook and Twitter accounts.

    Morning all,

Pretty sure that I've had most players in my team at some point over the last fortnight, but I think I'm getting close now. Any suggestions or comments would be most appreciated...

    De Gea | Jakupovic
    Shaw | Stones | Sagna | Terry | Wasilewski
    Tadic | Barkley | Sigurdsson | Townsend | Xhaka
    Aguero | Kane | Carroll

Not sure about Xhaka, but can't see much better for 5.5.

    Thanks,

    CustardMite (don't ask!)

Don't like double City defence, or 4 defenders over 5.0. Also don't like a 5.5 sub compared to 4.5 and would argue there are much better options than Xhaka such as Ramirez or Gradel.

You layout could make it difficult to bring in any of the big hitter midfielders if they shine early.

        agree.
the only option to bring in a big hitter in midfield without numerous transfers would be downgrading kane/aguero.

A few days ago, a good algorythm was posted. the goal was to create a layout that to be flexible for transfers and changes in form.

        5.0 - 4.5
        6.0 - 5.0 - 5.0 - 4.5 - 4.5
        11.0 - 9.0 - 6.5 - 5.5 - 5.0
        13.0 - 9.0 - 6.5

Additionally dont like double defense in early GW becuase you never know how a season will progress (CHE last year).
So wuold change shaw (perhaps baines?) and sagna (VVD?).
4.5 mid is a gamble but Xhaka isnt in my bowl (Gradel?)

How does this look? Pretty much a noob at this game. Any recommended transfers?
    Foster/Heaton
    Shaw/Walker/Friend/Pieters/Paredes
    Hazard/Firmino/Lamela/Townsend/Capoue
    Ibra/Aguero/Gray
    ITB-0.0
    Townsend or Deulofeu?

      Townsend. Or consider Redmond.

      But your team looks good.

    How does mine look?
Will go for a 3-4-3 formation of...

    Foster/Jakupovic
    Bailly/ Stones/ Morgan/ Amat/ Paredes
    Mane/ Alli/ Pogba/ Fisher/ Ayew
    Gray/ Kane/ Ibra (c)

Rationale - Can't overlook the Mourinho factor and I know there is 3 United gambles there but they have bought with real intent with no champs league...Spurs also will come back stronger than last year and as a Spurs fan I cannot overlook Alli for Lamela...Mane looks an excellent buy and again Liverpool will be up there this year...Was toying with Kante instead of Fischer but decided on Fischer due him be more attacking...Did really wanted Vardy in but will not drop Kane and Ibra

    Please choose your preffered option.

    Mahrez+Hazard+Lukaku
    Mahrez+Oscar+Ibra
    Hazard+Deulefeu+Ibra

    Thanks

I will have Aguero in all 3 situations.

move mountains to get in kun instead of ibra.
maybe downgrade DDG to get in a man u defender, which might get assists etc?
wisdom seems to be that foster will be starting, not myhill.
swansea will struggle this year - there are better choices than sign (in my personal opinion)

my team is below - pls RMT back

so, all done, except the ones in caps, which I have doubts about.

    foster (4m)
stones - walker - valencia (friend, amat)
    hazard, firminho, TADIC, BOLASIE (fletcher)
    kun, kane, long

tadic and bolasie = 13.5m - any better combos?

    thanks

RMT, please. Any minds about this:

    1) De Gea (Jacupovic)

    2) Terry - Morgan - Stones (Amat, Paredes)

    3) Firmino - Willian - Lamela - Feghouli - Tadic

    4) Aguero - Ibra (Gray)
