Suspensions

Aguero Charged by FA

The FA have this afternoon charged Sergio Aguero with alleged violent conduct following his altercation with Winston Reid in City’s 3-1 win over West Ham at the Etihad last weekend.

City’s top scorer now has until 6pm tomorrow to contest the charge and, if found guilty, is set to serve a three-match domestic ban.

He would sit out the Gameweek 4 and 5 encounters against United and Bournemouth, as well as City’s EFL Cup trip to Swansea on September 20.

Aguero would then be available for the Gameweek 6 visit to the Liberty four days later.

Given the nature of the altercation, Aguero’s flailing arm gives him little hope of avoiding suspension.

Owned by over 52% of Fantasy Premier League managers, he’s already suffered significant sales after withdrawing from Argentina duties with a calf problem.

Should confirmation come tomorrow, the exodus will kick into overdrive as we look to spend the budget freed up by his departure from our squads.

For the 43.2% who don’t yet own him, Zlatan Ibrahimovic offers an easy swap for those who are seeking a place-holder for the City striker.

Chelsea’s Diego Costa looks reinvigorated under Antonio Conte and, along with Wayne Rooney, is one of only two forwards to produce returns in each of the first three Gameweeks.

The Aguero news comes at a time where Eden Hazard and Alexis Sanchez served a reminder of their big-hitter potential in midfield with double-figure weekend returns.

Whilst the temptation to invest the Aguero funds heavily in midfield is strong, keeping the door open for an easy return looks a wise move given his form under Pep Guardiola.

Going for Ozil and Lukaku on wildcard, then when Kun is back I can do Ozil > Cazorla and Lukaku > Aguero. Sound like a solid plan?

I think so. No room for sentiment where Aguero is concerned. Those saying Cazorla isn't the greatest option, he's nailed in an attacking Arsenal team and on penalties. If a better alternative for 7.5 shines through, then I'll pick them, the point was the downgrade in order to afford Kun.

When he gets flagged, he'll be price drop blocked but as soon as the flag comes off he falls off the cliff and will prob drop immediately considering the transfers out. Does buy us some time though. Is that right?

Price protection occurs when the red changes to available. Red flag = more transfers out needed.

so, removing the flag locks his price, but while he is red flagged he can drop all that the market desires...is that right?

Aguero was quite moderate at the weekend so it might possibly be worth taking a calculated risk and losing him for a little while altogether; it would be the ultimate differential. He's possibly carrying an injury, has two blanks followed by two fixtures on the road and has Champions League games with Barcelona interspersed over the next few GWs which may see a little r&r being incurred.

      Sayonara Sergio!!

Is it more logical to :

      A. Leave kun in on bench for two gameweeks. One of which was always going to be tough.

      B. A no point hit to get a two week replacement with nice fixtures (like Lukaku). Save the cash to bring him back without any hits

      C. Take a hit now and probably again in a couple of game weeks or so. To bring in Alexis or Ozil. As well as doing B.

The temptation to do C is largely due to arsenal exploding at the weekend. B seems the sensible option. A seems too boring !!

Avoid A altogether, benching a 13m forward for 2 weeks is a poor option. Yes B is the safest bet but C has greater risk/reward.

Can you guide me on how to improve my formatting?

Btw, my squad already have Hazard and Barkley, so, is it sensible to double up on Chelsea and Everton attack?

Or maybe some differentials? Vardy? Benteke?

      Hey guys,

This has probably already been covered but SHOULD I USE MY WILDCARD NOW OR WAIT?

My situation is this: At the end of gameweek 3 I made 2 transfers (and took a -4 hit while I was at it) - I took out Deulofeu for Walcott and got rid of Heaton for Jakupovic.

Now that Aguero is banned and will probably go down in value, I want to switch him for Costa. However, I also feel this is a good chance to get Sanchez in too. But that would be either a -8 hit or -12 hit which is just too much isn't it?

Or shall I use my wildcard? What are your thoughts please? Pros and Cons?

      Thanks 🙂

You can get a cheap striker and get Sanchez in for -4. My pick is Iheanacho as a short-term, cheap punt

I already used 2 transfers a few days ago so that would be an even bigger hit!

If you've already taken a -4, and still have Aguero, probably wildcard.

Really depends on how well you could improve your team elsewhere.

      A) Cazorla and Benteke
      or
      B) Bolasie and Lukaku

A - Bolasie and Lukaku both play for the same team and aren't really firing at the mo

How many of us not removing Kun? Planning to save my FTs or use elsewhere and not deal with bringing him back in. Feeling dullard 😐

Guessing Gray has chosen to just not respond to his charge. Which means he will get whatever he is given. Just down to whether it will be a big fine or match bans or both. Tbh I think it's very likely he will receive a lengthy ban

There may be a slight chance that he has responded, we just don't know about it. Slight.

He has until tomorrow no? So bit market to assume he has chosen not to respond. He will.
