Baines. Fixture, set pieces, penalty and now they have Williams and Koeman I expect they will get a lot of clean sheets.

      Baines

Walker is mainly relying on CS, Baines on pens.

I'm a fan of Pereyra, I think he's got potential. Wouldn't ever WC him in.

Personally I think a 6m midfielder playing striker is something of a no-brainer still. Especially with nobody else in that price range is performing.

The good thing about Redmond is that he plays 2nd striker now. The bad thing is that he has no consistency to give you points (I have a feeling he's the new Agbonlahor). For long term and cheap option you prefer Redmond but WBA has good fixtures at the moment, Pulis's team like to score with header and Chadli is tall. Mirallas is also another option but if you don't have enough cash then keep Redmond because he's still worthy. My 4th mid is currently a rotation of Fer and Capoue. Capoue seems playing more advanced than last season, I have a feeling he will have the same amount of goals as Redmond this season as long as he's not switching to deeper role again.

At 6m, I don't really need consistency. A goal every few games and he's doing his job.

I don't mind Chadli but i'm not sure how he's going to adapt to WBA, they play different to Spurs. I want to see him first.

I like Mirallas when on the pitch but I'm looking more long term now on my WC as I won't be WC'ing again for about 30 GWs. Deulofeu and him will rotate on the right.

I'm wildcarding Redmond out personally. Sure, he may come good. But doesn't look like big hauls consistently enough.

He's a fine budget option. But with funds to upgrade him from Kun, it's easy for me Redmond out.

There is a reason he's 6m. Consistent big hauls aren't required.

There is no one I'd rather have at his price and it is important to have someone at that price to accommodate Kun.

I have Sanchez in my draft.

Didn't even have Pieters to start...fixtures start to clear up. Redmond's fixtures are getting a bit tricky but I still think he's a great Kun enabler who I'll want back for the Swans game.

I like it. Stoke don't defend since Pulis left, but the soft fixtures are right around the corner. 2 from WBA should also be considered.
I like PvA - if I just stayed with him over Stones at the start....
How are you getting Kun back?

      1. Nabs Kebabs
        • 12 Years
        7 years, 9 months ago

Yep agreed that Stoke are average at best at the back since Pulis left but it's the fixtures that appeal. Also I'll hardly need him as PVA can be played almost every week.

WBA double is definitely in consideration.

Yeah PVA is fantasy gold and the fixtures are starting to clear up, think he is a beast of a differential.

The plan is to save a FT GW 5 then use 2 FT's to go Lukaku and a heavy hitter out. Of course this is very rough the main thing is to be flexible. I'm toying with going Ozil over Alexis which would leave me enough to Ibra to Kun in one FT.

I'm going PVA myself, despite some of the nay say on this board. Looks among the biggest goal threats and possible bonus. Clean sheet may be hit and miss mind you which is the only debate. Other great options at 5

Question for those wildcarding and bringing back Aguero in round Six

What are you doing about Liverpool?
They are home to Hull in GW 6 and if you have to use your free transfer to bring in Aguero than what about Liverpool who have some great fixtures

If i wildcard im thinking about not bringing Aguero back until the Boro game. They lots of tough champ league games and there are plenty of other captain options, and that powerful midfield without him could work wonders.
Then can use the free to bring in a Liverpool player instead

Downside of course is that his price will begin to rise from GW 6

I don't think I'd go without him for that long. GW8 at a push is as far as I'd go. And if he tears it up before then you will be forced to change your plan and bring him back in anyway due to massive price rises.

I dunno, if Arsenal is firing then Ozil is good. He had 3 games last season where he scored a goal and got an assist(two of those were vs ManU) so fixtures don't matter.

He had 11 games in a row with attacking returns!

He is involved in lots and on some set pieces. BonusP magnet.

I think people will struggle to get him back for GW6 due to this. They're downgrading him to a 9m and then upgrading Redmond & Lamela to Sterling & Ozil. Hard to undo that without a hit.

Maybe the answer is not to bring him back in GW 6
He a nuisance, will be an injury next , starting to think he is more trouble than he is worth. Can always bring him in for a must have game like home to boro, but not sure he worth building a team around

If you can hide behind the couch GW6 when they away to Swansea , then City have fairly poor fixtures for a few weeks and also have a match with Barcelona sandwiched in there

Kun will likely be clearly ahead in GW6 captain polls.

Doesn't that go against your captaincy policy if you leave him out?

i dont think EVE SOT wba will be a problem for aguero and ruling out city because of fuxtures is also ruling out sterling, silva and kdb.

do really need ozil and/or sanchez for that period though

If I get on the Liverpool bangwagon, it'll be at GW9. Need time to monitor 'pool before going there. It'll be between Lamela and Coutinho for me...so we'll have to see who's in better form then. Far from certain at this point that it'll be Coutinho.

It's the consistently good captaincy option which makes him great. When in doubt, captain Aguero.

We're paying 13m for that reason.

The problem is the number of FTs that you currently have.
You made me think when you previously mentioned than he can even be benched for 2GWs. This might be true if you have 1FT and the rest of your team needs work. With 2FTs you gotta take him out than in (or spread and roll without for a while).

Have you not watched any football this season?

Hull have been fairly solid, Liverpool have been up and down, why would you risk getting the key Aguero play wrong because you are considering inconsistent Liverpool as key? Have you learned nothing in the last few years regarding Liverpool who always let the fantasy world down when many think they need backing?

Alternatively, is there some small club bias coming into play where you expect Hull to roll over? How did that work out for you last year with Leicester? Didn't your OR rank come crashing down to earth with a bang due to your small club snobbery?

Sorry to reply to a question with a question.

Regarding Liverpool facing Hull, didn't you go against your belief and bring Ibra in because he was facing Hull when you were really against it? How did that work out for you?

Perhaps watch more football and don't take these smaller clubs as givens.

Good luck with going without Aguero, look forward to the new chapter in your book where you speak about how it worked out for you.

Hi Ryan, I haven't missed two clean sheets in three with two of them being against teams who were seen to have 'easy fixtures' how long did it take United to break them down and how did all those who rpipes their teams up to fit Zlatan feel when the sure thing wasn't so sure?

I appreciate the underlying stats argument but as we see with players like Tadic, they mean very little, what matters is the end result.

I'm sure their luck will run out but against a Liverpool team that couldn't beat/break down Burnley? You saw that right or did you miss that?

Actually, my mistake, it's one clean sheet and one minute away from two in games they were expected to be well beaten in.

I guess the message is that they are far from the whipping boys so far and Liverpool are a side that a far from filling people with enough confidence to ignore an Aguero with around 50% ownership who will be captained by many.

Nice maverick tactics though all the same.

I watched their entire game v United and they were defending with their hearts and souls. There was always a man willing to throw his body in front of the ball. Now sure there was some luck involved but if they can keep that passion they will do well.

That is assuming Hull is a great fixture for a Liverpool attacker. On current evidence Hull will be bringing a massive bus, driven by Curtis Davies.

I think if fit and available Aguero has to be the top choice even if Liverpool were playing my son's school's under sevens.

I don't think Trigger is just talking about Hull but rather the start of a good run of fixtures for Liverpool

Lets not get too excited by Hull either. Their defensive stats are shocking and this run will come to its inevitable end.

        10. Still Unsure

If you want a great midfield, it's one of Aguero or Ibra. I'll probably do a straight swop from the latter to the former when he's back. That or downgrade to Rooney possibly. Kun is far more important than Ibra IMO.

Not sure if Hull at home is great fixture for Liverpool. They don't do very well against teams happy to sit back, leaving no space; like Burnley did.

GW6-GW18 Liverpool have a great run. Well worth considering.

I'll plan to have 2FT's for when Aguero returns and hope thats enough flexibility to potentially get a form Liverpool player in as well.

I have decided to go without Ibra till I feel he is a must. He didn't look like he is a must vs Hull. It's like when he will keep scoring the 2 points the teams which don't have will rise a lot and vice versa
If Augero gets a ban I drop Ibra to Vardy, Augero to Defoe. Benteke will be 3rd striker
Midfield of Firmino, Ozil, Sterling, Antonio, Hazard
Defence : Holgate, Walker, Mcauley, Valencia, Amat.
          0 the bank

          Gw 6 : Sterling to a 5 m mid. Vardy to Agero
          Team looks much balanced.

          Hazard / Firmino / Bolasie / Redmond
          Aguero / Grey / Zlatan

          Jaku / Capoue / Friend / Pieters

1FT and .8 in the bank.

If Kun isn't banned then will hold the trade. If he does get banned I might go Kun -> Lukaku/Giroud/Costa/Zaza (West Ham fan punt).

          Thoughts?

Manchester City have agreed to allow Samir Nasri to join Sevilla on loan, Sky sources understand.

The 29-year-old former Arsenal midfielder is heading to the Spanish club for a medical ahead of the deal, according to Sky Sports' Spanish football expert Guillem Balague.

Best midfielder for 7.0 and below? Except Everton mids. Not too keen on Antonio.

Are Amat and Kingsley nailed defenders after CB Mawson signing?

I had amat and stupidly removed him on WC looking at Swans fixtures and forgetting I will need a 4mn defender to shoehorn Sanchez :/

Is Amat/Kingsley more nailed than the other?

Kingsley will prolly lose his place to Neil Taylor now he's match fit. Amat is number 2 centre back and i wouldn't expect a kid from Barnsley to oust him, so I'd be fairly confident he stays in the starting line-up.

A kid from Barnsley, just like Stones was 😉

Mawson is a good talent, wouldn't rule him out of starts in the future

I can understand people getting Sterling in if their on a wc but why are non-wc's getting him in when he's up against MU away. I can't see him doing much so isn't it worth just waiting until next week.

Thoughts on leaving Aguero on the roster for the 2 weeks he's banned? Gotta get that Özil guy in and I have only 1 FT. Capoue and fourth def in the upcoming weeks here I comes!

its an option but he'll probably drop in value. isnt there a fwd you could swap in for two weeks. could pay for the 4pt hit with a 0.3 bank saving

prob drop .2 but pick the right replacement and you might squeeze a .1 increase out of it

I get that Ozil has more ownership of set piece, but Sanchez takes directs and corners as well no?

It's kind of shared by a few in that midfield.

set-piece tab needs updating then. don't watch much gunners football, want to be sure who to bring in Sanchez, Ozil (or even Caz and those funds).

          Hi guys,

On a WC, to complete this defence:

          *** (Pickford)

          Baines - Valencia - *** - (Amat - 4.0)

Would you choose Foster and McAuley, Heaton and McAuley or another combo including one defensive element from WBA?

          Thanks!

Nope, you only need those two and Ibra.

It's only risky in that a MUN mid becomes essential.

many have one with De Gea, so for same amount you get potential for attacking returns. clearly better

Jack Wilshere is set to choose between Crystal Palace and Bournemouth as his destination on a season long loan, Sky sources understand.

Wilshere and his representatives met Alan Pardew yesterday afternoon and Eddie Howe yesterday evening. Both meetings were in London.

Wilshere said he would inform the respective clubs of his decision this morning.
