Suspensions

Aguero Suspension Confirmed

Sergio Aguero will serve a three-match ban after the FA upheld their charge of violent conduct issued on Tuesday.

The verdict arrives as a result of a meeting of an independent panel at the FA, following Manchester City’s decision to contest the initial charge.

Aguero will now miss the next two Gameweeks, ruling him out of the Manchester derby on September 10, plus the plum Etihad meeting with Bournemouth in Gameweek 5.

Now we must make our own decision.

For some, this was made by activating the Gameweek 4 Wildcard.

Already a hugely popular window to carry out the refresh, Aguero’s troubles will have prompted greater numbers to hit the button.

Those with Wildcards active can now go about disposing of the Argentine’s services and distributing the funds over two players – potentially bringing in a midfield heavy-hitter as their Gameweek 4 captain.

Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, the resurgent Raheem Sterling and the Arsenal pairing of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil top the bill.

The Gunners’ pairing look particularly attractive as a means of acquiring a Gameweek 4 captain – Arsenal face Southampton at the Emirates.

Those without a Wildcard and with just a single free transfer available face a tougher decision.

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic already in almost 60% of squads, our sights must be lowered to consider the likes of Diego Costa and Romelu Lukaku.

Alternatively, we can venture into the mid-price and absorb a transfer hit to acquire one of the aforementioned midfield targets.

Riding out the two Gameweeks with Aguero benched is clearly an option. However, it’s the threat from the Arsenal pair that looks dangerous.

Wildcard squads and those who commit two transfers will likely target one of Sanchez and Ozil and, if they deliver with the armband, it could create a major swing in Gameweek 4.

The key, however, is the plan heading into Gameweek 6 for Aguero’s return.

City travel to the Liberty Stadium to face Swansea – a fixture that looks potentially profitable for Aguero.

Trading him out now looks to be the option if we can be certain to devise a bullet-proof plan to get him back ahead of Gameweek 6.

Again, those with the Wildcard should have the advantage; they can plan their squad around a strategy of banking their Gameweek 5 transfer, ensuring that the funds to bring back the City man can be unlocked with two transfers leading into Gameweek 6.

We have a Burning Question on the Aguero situation, the strategies and the targets arriving in the next 24 hours.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Is nyom nailed on at right back for west Brom? They have been playing two centre backs at full back for the first 3 games, surely he is nailed on?

Galloway started last game and looks to be the nailed LB until brunt is back.

Nyom won't start right away I don't think as (I assume) the preferred partnership in the middle is Evans and Dawson so that would leave McAuley as the odd man out; and his form has been too good to drop straight away imo.

Good question. The feeling is he might eventually play RB and that Dawson maybe shifted te CB in place of McAuley. Evans & Dawson look the most nailed right now.

Now that Kun is out, I pretty much have to get Sanchez or Ozil...

With Giroud pretty much back, is it fair to say Sanchez is back on the wing, and therefore Ozil better in terms of price:point ratio?

I don't think so. Sanchez scored his points from the wing last year. Ozil will steadily accumulate points Sanchez will grab a load every 3rd game.

If Gray is banned, is this worth a -8?

    Tadic -> Sanchez
    Aguero -> Lukaku

I would WC Aguero back in later on.

A I think Gunners new line will see Sanchez shift back to the left, either supporting Giroud or as part as a front 3 with Perez. I think Ozil, a safer bet and more consistent with points.

You're spending an extra million on keepers that should be improving your midfield. Downgrade one to pickford. You're doubled up on Ev and WBA def with the keepers...not enough options there..

Is it possible to play WC now, take advantage of price risers between now and next week and increase Team Value by moving players around all week?

For example, I want ozil over Sanchez but Sanchez looks set to rise, so if I bring him now can I secure his price rise and then transfer ozil in later in the week?

This is what plenty of people used to do and that's why the two week breaks were great for using the WC. FPL have tried to curtail this over the last few seasons by putting a 0.3 cap on any rises between GWs, and then stopped any transfers on active WCs from counting towards price rises. You can likely still make a bit though...

lets say sanchez is 10.9 now if he raised up to 11 the team value will increase 0.1 but you still didn't gain 0.1 he should rise to 11.1 so you can sell him with 11

    Rondon 2015/2016 vs

CRY Away 1 goals in 1,

BOU Away 1 goal in 1,

STK Away 1 goal in 1

    2016/2017

He played Away to CRY in GW1 and scored again, making it 2 in 2 at Selhurst Park
