The ScoutCast – Episode 197 – Rom-antics

Romelu Lukaku saved my Gameweek and put a new spring in my step.

More importantly, it denied Granville the opportunity to indulge in one of his most favourite hobbies – picking holes in my “wasted” Wildcards.

Silenced by the Everton striker and early technical issues, Granville nonetheless returns to join myself, Jonty and Andy as we pick the bones out of Gameweek 4 and look ahead to the next.

With Lukaku and Diego Costa firing, this week’s raft of community questions are dominated by talk of going without Sergio Aguero or Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

I’m more than happy to add further fuel to that fire by testing an anti-Zlatan maverick theory, only to be shot down by my co-hosts.

Does Etienne Capoue present another route to packing cash in our forward lines?

Can Jonty really find a good reason to justify having Jason Puncheon?

Will Granville’s cat make an appearance?

You can get the answers to all this and more by tuning in.

      Foster Heaton
      Valencia Baines Davies Collins Amat
Hazard Firmino Antonio Snodgrass 4.5 Enabler
      Kun Ibra Deeney

How does this look for a WC next GW?

I'm curious if going without Arsenal cover for their good fixtures seems dangerous and whether or not Davies, Collins and Amat is the best combo I can manage for the defense. Should I even downgrade a keeper and some of the defense to get a better 5th mid. I don't want Capoue, especially with Deeney up front.

We don't know yet because he barely had any competition last season. Now we have Janssen and to be honest I think Janssen has done well in the minutes he has played. Kane looks to be out of form and after playing CL midweek he could be rested/benched.

Don't know what Pochentino is thinking, but Janssen is pushing for a start and Kane deserves to be dropped/benched IMO. On the spurs forums I follow the majority want Kane to be rested/benched. Wouldn't be surprised to see him start though.

If you own him you play him, but don't captain him IMO.

Dembele is back. Hard to see how he'd be dropped now.

Why does it matter? Sure, the stats says Spurs are playing better with Dembele on the pitch, but Kane has been poor this season (and in the euros). If there is a perfect moment to hand Janssen a start it's now.

He could say something like "Kane deserves a rest" or "Kane needs to be playing games, but not sure. We'll see tomorrow.

Look I think Kane isn't going to do much worse than he did last year over the course of the season. I just think the trick is grabbing him at the start of his run. Not sure that is this week, but he is explosive so I could be wrong, I am not bringing him in now, want to see a bit more. It is definitely a risk though.

get Pieters out. Stoke defense is a shambles. No Butland for 10 weeks.

the rest looks good, other than Amat. if you have .4, upgrade him too.

and no WC can be considered adequate this week unless it has a good plan to get Kun back next week . . .

        . . . so, what is it?

that's one way to go about it (probably not a good one though, with Ibra's ownership over 60%)

do you have the money itb? 1.3 or so . . . if not, it will take 2 transfers and cost you -4.

that's one thing that made WC last week better than this -- ypu could save and have 2 FT's for Kun.

I really hope FFS releases the Capt. Sensible article well before the deadline this time.

Missed it the last time that there was a Friday night game due to it being released just a few hours before the deadline.
Being 8 hours ahead here~ that puts me firmly in the sleeping zone at that time..

The options this week are tough to say the least so will need any nuggets we can get.

          So 1.30am where I am..
          (2.30 once the hour changes)

It should be released a few hours before that I think.

      A. Firm, Snodgrass (Capoue 5th mid) and Benteke. Also allows greater flexability in future.

Surely he can't. Had him since GW1 and benched each time, so hes really starting to pisses me off with hes 34 points haha. Getting the value increase atleast.

Some big fan of Capoue posted his highlights on YouTube the other night. I watched them all despite the horrid soundtrack. You know what I came away with? He's slightly above average in terms of the grey area between attacking mids and defensive mids. I own him and thanks for the price rises but no, I will not be starting him.

Haha thanks a lot for the answer!

I am still inn 11k rank despite benching him every round so Ill guess I should be satisfied this far. Redmond vs Swansea it is.

I never understand why people say I wil own X for the next Y weeks...

You have no idea how many injuries you'll have then or who is in form or how that player is playing. Unless you're 100% sure you'll wildcard within a two week period (any longer and again you have no idea if you'll need to do it earlier or not at all) then a transfer is more permanent than you think and will always be harder to follow plans than you expect.

So basically never think you're gonna have someone for 3 weeks only, you could be stuck with them for a lot longer!
