Am I right to AOA this week due to DF injuries and bad fixtures?

    Pick Jaku
    Baines Vertongen Amat Holebas Smith
    Sanchez Antonio Firmino Sterling Capoue
    Kun Lukaku Rashford

Thoughts? Start Holebas and Baines and AOA with Cap?

Hence the AOA. He'll either start or not play at all and with Vert and Amat having very tough fixtures I think it could be the right time to play especially if Baines is in fact out.
Really want to save my 1 FT for after the int break.

          Gotcha. Fair enough.

I played it last season and still only got 9 players out!

Haha I played it last year and two of my MDs were crocked so ended up with 4 DFs. Go figure.

Defense and GK seem like such pointless positions to invest in this season. No decent budget options either. I miss 09/10 Birmingham.

Dont think LIV looks porous. They let in two clumsy goals lately and its not leaking like last season. Stats are good as well defensively. But you are right about keeping for hammers. Also, think they will turn the corner and start with MID.

Evans has a very decent chance of a clean sheet but if you have Foster as GK then I think that's actually not a bad hit. Having Bellerin for Arsenal's next fixtures could be profitable. Although Monreal might offer better value.

        Burnley home stats:

        3rd worst for SoT
        3rd worst for SiTB

Shots in the box against conversion rate: 3.3%. Going to regress

It was similar last season in the Championship, 4th worst for SoT and SiB I think (only the three relegated teams came lower). However they also ended up as joint top scorers so maybe they won't regress.

            • 9 Years

SiB is a pretty meaningless stat. Where in the box? Most goals are scored from inside 12 yards and central. The penalty box goes out to 18 yards and is 18 yards wide either side of the goal.

The total area of the penalty box is just under 800 square yards. Of that, less than a third of it (let's say 240 square yards) is the "killing zone" within which the big majority of goals are scored. That means an imaginary box extending out to the penalty spot and 6 yards wide of the goal either side.

Until there is a stat for that "imaginary box" then SiB can only offer a very general guideline.

SoT is a better guide but even that suffers from the lack of distinction about where the shot is taken from.

Statistically the best guide is actually goals scored and conceded. And it is 10 months since Burnley conceded more than 1 goal in a game at Turf Moor. 😕

OK. Last time in the PL they conceded 21 goals in 19 games at Turf Moor. That suit you any better?

Burnley 0-1 Arsenal was the result in that game by the way.

                  A little bit perhaps 🙂
Although it was 2 years ago and I'd argue conceding a goal a game on average isn't that great a record especially when they are up against one of the best sides in the league who are on form. The previous 1-0 result is irrelevant imo.

They kept clean sheets against both Manchester clubs and Spurs at Turf Moor that season. They have already kept a CS against Liverpool this season.

The point is that Burnley are ultra-organised and don't roll over at home. Perhaps a slightly smaller pitch helps, they have the narrowest pitch in the PL and it is also slightly below standard length.

I was really happy having KDB and Sterling as a city double up. Did great last week and I was looking forward to them both continuing great form. Obviously the KDB injury has forced my hand..... Obvious move is to get Sanchez in (have Iwobi though) or Mane (have Fermino though)... To get Sanchez i would need to take a hit to find 0.3.

Any other suggestions or go with one of these?

          Get Sanchez in somehow.
          1. Arsenal have tasty fixtures
          2. He is playing central forward
          3. He is in form of his life (he is scoring and assisting).

My defence(if I csn call it that) is atrocious
        Valencia, Stones , McAuley , Bryam,Amat

McAuleys fixtures turn bad now & Byram is dead fantasy wise

Considering a hit for Byram to Holebas

I know hits for defenders is not good , but it's a long term one and I have plans for my transfers over next few weeks

My defence is similar except I have Williams instead of Stones. Byram could start against 'boro as it was mostly Collins who was causing the goals to fly in. Unless you're getting someone who is rising I'd rollover.

          Not that bad

City defender, United defender and a WBA defender
I would just stick with McAuley. WBA can shut out any team

        Foster Heaton
        Valencia Baines Smith Holebas Amat
        Sanchez Firmino Antonio Capoue Januzaj
        Aguero Costa Benteke

        Would You
        A) Benteke To Rashford
        B) Costa and Baines To Ibra and Monreal (-4)
        C) Save FT

          B) looks insane to me. Baines could recover during the international break and Ibra is destined to plummet in price should he blank against Stoke, though he could very well bag a hat-trick.

I'd go with C) but A) looks ok too.

We won't know. Last time he had exactly the same international fixture schedule before a Saturday game and was rested. But Arsenal had PSG away the following Tuesday and maybe Wenger had that in mind. Arsenal struggled, Sanchez came on for the last 30 minutes and they needed an injury time penalty to get the win.

This time they have Radogorets at the Emirates the following Wednesday. Probably a fixture that Wenger would worry less about and where he could rest Sanchez perhaps.

On balance I'd say Sanchez will probably start but it could go either way.

Should i get rid of Antonio for Walcott? If the team plays rubbish so does the player. I see West Ham goin into a very big trouble which will end up Bilic resign imo.

        My midfield;

        Snoddy - Mane - Coutinho (C always) - Sterling - Antonio
