The Dugout Discussion – Southampton vs Burnley

Sunday’s events conclude at St Mary’s as Southampton play host to Sean Dyche’s Burnley.

The Saints will be seeking a fourth consecutive clean sheet in the Premier League, a seventh in a row in all competitions.

Visitors Burnley will need to improve their attacking threat in order to threaten that record. The Clarets have scored just five goals from their seven matches, creating three big chances – the fewest in the Premier Leauge.

The Saints attack has disappointed with just seven goals scored in their seven matches. However, the statistics show that they have the potential to improve on that record in this one: Claude Puel’s side have produced a shot on goal every 4.8 minutes at St Mary’s – only Liverpool have been more threatening in home matches this season.

    Today's results were perfect for me. Have 2 main MLs. Leader in on ML has 2 Southampton defs, leader in the other ML has 2 Burnley defenders.

    No one in those MLs have Holebas 😆

    It's amazing what a defender goal and clean sheet can do for your game week! I was on 18 this morning - up to 33 thanks to Holebas.

    Firmino and Rashford hopefully to save me even more next week!

    Holding off my transfers until end of the week but definitely doing Capoue to Allen (5th mid) and going 3-5-2.

        This JWP one was a shot, though. A crap one, but a shot nonetheless. In fact I think if Heaton had just stood still each time Southampton shot he would still have recorded 9 saves. Plus maybe saved the penalty.

    This site should be renamed knee jerk central. I'm just bitter as I had two choices Baines to Alonso or Kingsley to Holebas, I chose the former, scared by his YCs but is it worth still getter my him in to follow the knee jerk/in form theme?
