The FFS Cup – Sponsored by FanDuel – Fifth Round Draw

With a break in our open to all Fantasy Premier League cup competition during the midweek fixtures, we spend some time this evening to see who has made it through to fifth round, which takes place during Gameweek 17 this coming weekend.

A reminder that, for this latest contest, there are more than £1,000 worth of prizes for UK based entrants courtesy of our partner FanDuel, as well as £350 in Amazon vouchers to the top three managers at the end of the competition.

In addition the highest scoring manager each round wins a £30 FanDuel credit, with community regular Moin earning this prize after his 65 point Gameweek 15 haul. He next faces msq22 in round five.

The next four highest scoring managers in round four win a £10 FanDuel credit. These will be handed out to Pinky Unites, who scored 63, DJDave1979, who scored 61 along with twobitgooner, and BC1, Bashvilla, Hagop, who all hit the 60 point mark.

The highest placed manager left in the competition is 216 ranked Bacuna Matata, who along with Pink Unites, won a £30 FanDuel voucher for the top highest score back in the third round.

The unfortunate manager to face this early frontrunner to win the competition is lowlifegimpe, who is ranked 337,555.

In a closely fought contest, our only remaining Fantasy Football Scout staff representative, TorresMagic, has made it through to round five, after squeezing past Zambhino10 by just a single point.

The moderator has another tough encounter in store when he takes on Smooth Rossi, who at 6,687 in the overall rankings is more than 7,000 places above him.

Other eye catching ties taking place in round five include Funkyav’s clash with Big Phil Soccer Team and Cobberlsnz taking on Bash Villa, who incidentally sent me packing back in the first round.

The fourth round results can be found via this link, while the full fifth round draw can be found here.

Good luck to those still involved and if you would like more information on the schedule and prizes click this link.

Eriksen > Coutinho when he returns on NYE looks like an easy trade to make. Both at the same value with Eriksen rising in value and Coutinho falling in value. It was the final nail in the decision to bring Eriksen in.

I'm at a loss, I have Sterling and know I need to get rid and I have 9.7 ITB

    BUT

I already have Siggy, Benteke (would you really want to double up CPL?), 3 WBA so the cheap option isn't there.

With no Spurs, is the best route Sterling > Eriksen?

Are people not worried about rotation at Spurs for tomorrow's game and over the festive period. Alli, Eriksen and Son have all been rested earlier this season when CL games have come in quick succession and with Sissokko and Lamela returning, surely they are due a rest?

    1. meenabakery
      • 7 Years
      7 years, 6 months ago

I think Eriksen is the most nailed of those as he's the most central to Spurs' play. Though that's possibly post-selective bias.

To be fair he's looked quality of late but in past seasons for me he's been a notorious troll. I personally went Payet as am happy enough with Kane (c) for Spurs. All the best anyway bud but don't be surprised to see a blank 🙁

I know, I agree. I made the transfer out of fear of a lack of Spurs cover and because I couldn't wangle it with Kane.

I am worried, wanted Son but didn't want to risk a random rest.

Eriksen is also not immune to it, he's been rested this season already (around GW6 or 7)

Yup, spot on. I'm sticking with kane for Spurs as he actually needs a run of games after being out. Spurs looked poor against Utd so wouldn't surprise me in the least if Pochetino freshened things up tomorrow

I wanted a mid but went for a West Ham one instead (same fixtures) and went for the Spurs defender to try and tap into their fixtures.

Antonio and Toby felt better than Son/Eriksen and a West Ham defender.

Toby is quality and a serious goal threat too. I'm stuck with Vertongen so will just hope for cleanies as his offensive output has been awful.
I was tempted with Antonio but I had already this season and blanked for weeks and also the 4ycs put me off

It is interesting how nobody mention Alli. All i see is Eriksen/Payet all the time.
I hope i m not wrong with my gut, but i go with Alli. Good luck to everyone.

Can't argue there. I chose Eriksen but Alli could explode.

    Foster
    Walker Cedric Lovren
    Sanchez Hazard Sigurdsson Eriksen Can
    Kane Costa

    Heaton McAuley Anichebe Amat

    0 FT, 0.5m ITB

Thoughts on this - should I make any changes to starting lineup???

I'd be tempted to start McAuley over Lovren. And I say that as a reluctant Lovren owner.

haha, well this is my dilemma, currently on lovren as i have foster in net as a line of WBA defence and then siggy in mid who could spoil the CS... if lovren was injured it would make this so much easier!!!!

But if Siggy doesn't spoil the CS, at least you can console yourself with having started McAuley. Whereas if he doesn't, you're doubly confounded by Siggy's failure and McAuley sitting on the bench with 6 points.

Don't know. I was waiting to see if he could do a more accurate one but he didn't show up. Maybe he'll add to this later.

Is it time to move Firmino out before his price drops?

    And who to go for:

    B) Eriksen
    C) Hold Firm

    Foster / Pickford
    Azpilicueta / Koscielny / McAuley / Cedric / Amat
    Hazard / Walcott / Firmino / Siggy / Capoue
    Costa / Kane / Defoe
