The FFS Cup – Sponsored by FanDuel – The Winner

After ten weeks of tough competition, the time has come to reveal the winner of our latest Fantasy Football Scout FPL Cup.

There was more than £1,000 worth of prizes available across this competition for UK based entrants, courtesy of our partner FanDuel, as well a £350 in Amazon vouchers to the top three managers.

Played out in the lowest-scoring Gameweek of the season so far, a nail-biting final saw A Manager Has No Name edge out Moin 36-35 to win the top prize of a £200 Amazon voucher and a £100 FanDuel Credit.

He now joins donnellyc, Jonty, Gribude, Goonerdave, Ninja_Fit_Saints, sleeping master, Mch, Wild Rover, Tdubb05 , CMIFLFC, Mark and last year’s champion Leon Harris in our Cup hall of fame.

A Manager Has No Name’s lead would have been even greater if had he not swapped Stoke City defender Erik Pieters – who earned four points in the Potter’s 1-1 draw with Everton – for Manchester United’s Phil Jones, who limped off before the hour-mark to deliver a single point.

In the end, the captaincy proved decisive with the 6,478 placed Moin opting for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who failed to score, while our winner placed the armband on Alexis Sanchez, who managed to squeak an assist in Arsenal’s defeat to Watford.

Alvaro Negredo’s penalty also helped take 21,761 ranked A Manager Has No Name over the finishing line, although this was cancelled out by injuries in defence, to Jones and Spurs’ Danny Rose, and by Moin earning an assist from his key differential, Eden Hazard.

Despite missing out on the top prize, Moin still claims a £100 Amazon voucher and £50 FanDuel credit.

The third place play-off was another close contest, with 9,047 ranked Back on the Horse beating 43,547 placed Hazardous Blue 35 to 31.

Hazardous Blue’s transfer of Daley Blind to Antonio Valencia cost him two points, after the Dutchman earned a pair of FPL bonus points in Manchester United’s 0-0 draw with Hull City in Gameweek 23.

But it was in goal where this clash was won, with Hazardous Blue benching of Hull’s Eldin Jakupovic, who earned 11 points, in favour of Arsenal stopper Petr Cech, who conceded twice against Watford, proving costly.

Meanwhile, Back on the Horse’s picked Burnley custodian Tom Heaton, who returned nine points. This was enough to see him pick up the third place prize of a £50 voucher and £30 FanDuel Credit. Hazardous Blue, meanwhile, takes home a £20 FanDuel credit.

Congratulations to our prize winners and thanks to all those who took part in another successful Cup competition.

We will bring you details of our future tournaments very soon.

Defoe and Daniels out. Bring in:

    A: Jesus and Dann
    B: Lukaku and Funes Mori
    C: Benteke and Walker

If I do B i'll have double Everton defense, as well as double West Brom defense

Realised something today -have been 'going with my gut' a lot in terms of hits throughout the season and it rarely pays off. Best piece of advice I could give is only take hits if restructures your team in a necessary way looking at future fixtures. Don't go with your gut! Go with what is smart and be patient. Have tried both this season and unless you take hits super well like some players (that Wakey guy who is an inspiration), minimal hits is the way to go. Ville Ronke style. Rant over lol, have had a terrible 2-3 months.

Hits are not worth it. I think somtimes going with your gut is best way forward but only if you watch the games and get the feeling from watching

Finally worked it out, if I stop buying players who have been on a points run I then won't be mad when the all decide to stop scoring.

So just did Giroud to Lukaku. It just feels so wrong, swapping one donkey to another but its probably the sound move.

Jesus would have been so much more exciting... love watching the kid too, as opposed to both trees mentioned above.
