The ScoutCast – Episode 214 – Smugface

Four middle-aged Fantasy Football managers (just go with it, Andy) and four Romelu Lukaku owners. Four very smug faces.

We try to hide it, we really do, but Romelu’s haul was so sweet, one or two gloating moments may have sneaked into this latest 120-minute episode.

You have been warned.

Our Gameweek’s were even good enough to nudge Granville into making a welcome return, although he was sure to stress that his 81 points had very little to do with the re-appearance.

He joined Jonty, a youthful Andy and myself for the usual grappling session with your community questions.

We contemplate the big hitters to sell and the cheap options to buy, while lamenting Sergio Aguero’s demise and giving Claudio Ranieri our own vote of shaky confidence.

This episode of the ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Wednesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

"James Morrison had an injury, but fitness-wise he is over that"

What does that mean? Should I be worried?

Says to me that he was concerned but isn't anymore. the WBA twitter feed is full of quotes about how wonderful Morrison and Brunt are. Looks sure starter to me.

Dawson could be shifted to full back to accommodate Evans, with Brunt moving to midfield - that'd mean one of Chadli or Phillips is more likely to miss out. Or Nyom misses out.

It looks to me like Morrison, Brunt are nailed and Evans could be benched possibly as so close to a return - but given the way Pulis talks about Evans I'd say if he's 100% then he's back in.

Agree on Chadli/Phillips being at risk, unless of course he plays Chadli at no10 again, but surely not with Morrison in the form he's in.

Evans will definitely get his place back, Tony loves him. Its just whether a midfielder or Nyom drop out.

All eyes on Phillips. Arguably he has to be the man to miss out on form.

    Why everyone selling Spurs milf's?

Liverpool defending is comical. And Spurs tend to play better away from home.

Alli still looking to make them runs in to the box at the left hand of the facing goal. Alder attempted a couple of them long diagonal balls that worked so well last seaon. Last couple of blanks are worrying mind

Kneejerk!!! No way I'm selling them now.... Could be double digits against Liverpool, even for both... Plus if they somehow crash out of FA Cup they will play GW28.... Crazy to sell now I think!

Alli and Eriksen both could've easily had 10+ points last GW vs Boro who is very tight away from home.

They are now playing Liverpool who has horrendous defense

Talk of Rose and Vert messing with team structure and affecting Alli in particular. Also Son diluting some of their attacking threat by playing so far forward.

if you already have Kane then the fixtures with possible blank could lead you to think that that is enough coverage.

    Thoughts on these moves?

    GW25: Eriksen & Alli -> Haz & Siggy (-4)
    GW26: Stones & Sterling -> Baines & Barkley (-4)

Gives me 11 for GW26 and a decent (c) option in Hazard (SWA). Without getting Hazard I'd likely captain one of Alli/Eriksen (STO) next week.

    Cech
    Coleman, Valencia, Stones
    Sanchez, Alli, Eriksen, Sterling
    Ibra, Benteke, Carroll

    Pickford, Nyom, Capoue, Amat
    Bank 0.5m, 1FT

Completely agree, but with my squad I probably need to lose Stones, Sterling & Amat this/next week in order to get 11 out, which means Lukaku would have to wait till GW28 if wanting him

      Yes I'd be against it.

I think you should save this GW and have 2 FT's next GW. Throw in there a hit if you must too.

Probably right, but I'd be getting 2 in form penalty takers and a much needed captaincy pick next week. RMT tool gives this a big thumbs up btw.

You at all concerned with double TOT attack given recent blanks against SUN & MID? Don't think 4 at the back helps them.

I just dropped from 3k to 5k over the weekend because of my choice to trust Zaha with the armband over lukaku....Now I have a similar dilemma with siggy.

Would you buy siggy this weekend for a free transfer over SANCHEZ??? I will do it anyhow after 2 gameweeks but the question is will siggy outscore Alexis ths gameweek?

Probably. Bilic said he's not worried he hasn't trained all week as he's match fit so can throw him straight in. Well that wasn't the exact quote, but was effectively what he was implying.

Imagine so with the England manager in attendance.

Don't think I've been so puzzled and perplexed over a run of fixtures in a long time.
The GW26 blanks are fine but the potential blanks in 28 are throughing a spaniard in the works everytime I think I've cracked it.
May just have reached a conclusion.... maybe.

Enlighten us. I think I will do Sanchez -> Hazard before gw26, and use funds to upgrade the likes of de Roon and Amat.

No biggy really just overcoming stubborness on a couple of other players and wanting to keep 2 FTs for GW26.

Van Anholt & Allen > Siggy & Maguire.

Just seemed a waste of 2 FTs but it gets Siggy (although Allen is due!!) and keeps me on track for playing GW28. Simples.

Good moves imo. Was considering getting Siggy this week, but I will wait until gw27 (after Chelsea).

Just doing Lloris -> Randolph this week, which gives me 2 fts for gw26. Planning to do Sanchez -> Hazard quickly to avoid further price drops.

Sanchez > Haz seems the obvious move however having Costa I'm planning on a move for Barkley/ Antonio/Snod unless the GW 28 outlook changes.

Same thoughts try to find a plan/strategy for having 9-10 players for 28.It's worth -12 to have 10 players in gw 28?Do i want these players for gws 29-30-31?Maybe its better having 7-8 players and bench the big guns but still have them for gws 29-30-31?
Now i think it's worth to take the hits.I think west ham-bournemouth and hull swansea will have goals, and hoping for everton-west brom 2-0 or even better a 0-0.One of the toughest choices for blanks i can remember.

Need help, need to use one of my transfers, options are:

    A. Lenihan to Fernandez
    B. Pieters to Funes Mori (means I will have triple everton and no room for barkley if i want him)

Must be the dullest choice ive ever had playing fpl

    2-3 questions for you guys:

    SA said something about Cabaye?
And will he now be starter with Milivojevics coming?

Why is everyone selling Kane?I want to bring him in for Aguero

Other strikers are dropping bacause people rush to bring in the likes of Lukaku and Jesus. I'm not selling, and Aguero -> Kane is a good move imo.

      Team currently:

      Jaku (Schmeichel)
      Bertrand - Coleman - Valencia
De roon - Sanchez - Sterling - Eriksen - Lallana
      Ibra - Llorente

B, only because of Hull's crowded centerback position.

you won't need a Hull defender this week vs. Arsenal, i assume, so he is for 26 and beyond.

Hull have been winning playing a back 4. by GW 26 they will have three healthy centerbacks. one of them
will need to sit unless they change formation to three at the back.

Dawson -- team capt. who has played every minute when healthy.
McGuire -- has played very well and has played every minute since GW 15
Rannochia -- the new boy who was their best player last week. an Italian international with top pedigree who may be too good to leave out.

Robertson looks 100% nailed on the left..
